i cant wait to get my hands on one. this is a video iv really wanted to see with the battery tray being where it is and size 🙏thankyou. you've done it already, but maybe to save cutting, try a 3d printed spacer for the shortys to bring the lipo further to rear and reach connections could possibly work 🤔
Thanks for the idea! They offer a foam spacer in the box that could be shoved down in the battery compartment - but once it is in there, not 100% sure how I would get it out...and I like the idea of the weight being more central. Hope you can get one soon!
I’ve good luck with Zeee 5200mah batteries, $35 for 2 on Amazon. The Lectron Pro 5200 also fits well. I used the low profile bullets with the proper length wire soldered onto IC5 to not have to cut the battery door at all.
I'm using the same batteries also in my bike, and zero problems.12 minute run puts them right about storage voltage. Run the same but 3s in my 10th scale basher with no issues for a couple years.
I can verify that the Gens Ace 5000 or 5300 fits. The balance wires make it a bit tricky but it works. Just ordered the Ovonics, too. Even cheaper today (7/12) with the Prime Day sale, at $26.39 for a pair.
I have been waiting over 2 wèks for mine. Ordered it on the 1st and 4 days later they said it had to be canceled and said I had to make a new order for one and I did and still waiting. No tracking yet either. Cool video
Nice job getting this pretty much sorted out. Question: would making some battery lead extensions work adding length to to packs that fit in the battery tray? Wouldn’t that be the simplest solution , Oran I missing something?
Good video my friend I just got my promoto and I'm really into it! Finally figured out how to backflip in a way that the electronics like.👍 Why were you looking to run different batteries?
Ohhh ok I see. I like the auto discharge feature of the spektrum batteries because sometimes I charge them up but don't get a chance to run them like I thought and I don't have to reconnect it to a charger to discharge back to safe storage levels. I feel you though that price sometimes is like ughhhhh😤
I have exactly the same problem, the length of wires in two of my batteries is slightly shorter and they do not fit properly. I plan to try again with 3d printed XT60 holder and different batteries.
i have one of these bikes on back order (November) if using alternate batterys, means you dont need a Spektrum specific charger? just checking that you then can use like a Venom ProDuo (i have) or similar?
Thank you for the Great videos!!! Can I use my stock charger with the OBONIC 5200MAH batteries? (I will also be buying the Spektrum S2100 G2 2x100W AC Smart Charger SPMXC2000)
I'm not sure what charger you are referring to as the "stock charger". Mine did not come with a charger. I recommend staying away from the "smart" chargers. They cost dramatically more than a non-smart charger and they tend to work best with their same-brand batteries - which also drives the cost up.
Hey! Just bought this bike and I'm having problems putting my plug into the port. Everything else is fine and the distance is perfect, it simply won't budge to go in. Any tips? I appreciate all!
Thanks for your answer! I accidentally bought CNHL batteries which were advertised to fit traxxas cars, but they dont. So I hoped that they will fit the promoto as I plan to buy one. Bad luck I think. 😢
Has anyone tried the HOOVO 2S Lipo Battery 7.6V 9000mAh 120C RC currently on sale at $69 for 2 on Amazon (or the HOOVO 2S Lipo Battery 7.4V 8000mAh 120C)? Looks like same dimensions, correct wire locations, and with the EC5 plug but is it long enough?
You could always just buy some tools of wire battery end u need an make longer battery leads that's what I was gonna do.. I'm gonna try them gen ace redline lipos.. thanks
$49 is a lot of money for some people, including myself. A Redcat RTR sport was $240, which is allot for retired elderly people to pay. That's what I think he said.
I noticed most of your batteries have low c rating it's very important to get high c rating 100 or higher I get 130 c rating this give you more punch I don't think you know much 😢 about batteries.
Ha! Clearly you need to study more on battery ratings. Blindly buying a battery just because it says 130C is not being a smart consumer. I have tested HUNDREDS of batteries to find the differences. I suggest you start testing as well.
For those who don’t know there are only two or three companies that actually make the batteries. So really all the same. So buy off price. I’ve had no better luck spending more money and zee’s has amazing customer service. Don’t believe me look it up yourself. Tons of videos that prove it on here or google

Although i don't have an rc motorcycle i enjoy watching your videos because they are very informative and interesting .
Thank you Harry!!!
Another problem solved,I've had great luck with the ovonics myself, great video
Me too! They have been solid batteries for me.

The Spektrum 2s 120c basher packs are fantastic and fit just fine.
Thanks for letting us know!
7200 2s 120c zee. not to bad at all.. @@RoadsideRC
I just used these Zeee 5200 batteries today before I even watched this video. They DO fit and run!
Glad they worked for you!

Can’t you secure the balance plug against the side/end of the battery? Just use a strip of electric tape or somethin
@@V8chump Yes! It is not too hard.
@@V8chump Yes, or just stuff it in and it stays in place and fits. Just want to make sure it can’t hang out.
Did the ovonics fit?

Thanks! Sounds like you are in the same boat as many. I am one of the fortunate ones who somehow got one.
can see the need for a right size battery mate
*left a like for you👍Au👀full watch always👁*
Yes!
The Spectrum g2 batteries are expensive yes but the 6200 120c 2s basher pack works great and makes a noticable improvement.
I'm glad you like them!
Nice job getting this pretty much sorted out. Question: would making some battery lead extensions work adding length to to packs that fit in the battery tray? Wouldn’t that be the simplest solution , Oran I missing something?
Yes! You could certainly run adapters/longer leads. I prefer to not have that extra connection in there.
Good video my friend I just got my promoto and I'm really into it! Finally figured out how to backflip in a way that the electronics like.👍 Why were you looking to run different batteries?
Always looking for cheaper battery alternatives than the Spektrum!

I have exactly the same problem, the length of wires in two of my batteries is slightly shorter and they do not fit properly. I plan to try again with 3d printed XT60 holder and different batteries.
What I did initially was create an extension so they would plug in. Worked, but not ideal.
i have one of these bikes on back order (November) if using alternate batterys, means you dont need a Spektrum specific charger? just checking that you then can use like a Venom ProDuo (i have) or similar?
You are right- you can use whatever charger you want!
Great video very informative..Time for me to get one of these bikes Thankyou Sir✌
Glad to help! Hope you get your hands on one!
The Spectrum battery is a bit more expensive but it works perfectly and doesn’t require you to butcher your Promoto or use sketchy Amazon batteries!
Yeah...not for me. The various brands I have used on Amazon have worked well. As I note, not all need to mod the battery tray.
Thank you for the Great videos!!! Can I use my stock charger with the OBONIC 5200MAH batteries? (I will also be buying the

I would take the body panel off and look closely at the plug to see what the issue is.
Good luck!
What happened to the muffler??
The paint flaked off the first time I touched it!
I’ve seen guys notch that battery tray to make something like this work 2:15
Yes! That is what I did later in the video for my shorty battery.
If you notch for the stick pack, it interferes with the exhaust mount.
Does anyone know if 51mm wide batteries will fit in the promoto? Thanks!
They will not - the lipos I show in this video are as big as it can allow.
Thanks for your answer! I accidentally bought CNHL batteries which were advertised to fit traxxas cars, but they dont. So I hoped that they will fit the promoto as I plan to buy one. Bad luck I think. 😢
got a 7200mah in mine :)
Nice!

Great question! Leads certainly look long enough...
😎😎👍👍
Le pones una bateria con conector T y un conversor de T a XT60 que te alarga un poco el cable y listo.😊
That could work as well. I don't like running adapters.
I need to verify that the zee 8000mah work and fit or do I need an adapter or solder?
If you get it with the correct plug, no need to solder or anything.
Is it 3s capable??
It is not. The flywheel must run on 2S.
i have zeee 7200mah 2s lipo
Ic5,ec5, qs8. And the qs8 r rated to 600amps
I thought it was 120amps...

I’d avoid the Zee, testing in the bike so far shows their numbers are made up. Mah not lining up, c rating not adding up.
Hit or miss it seems. I have had decent results with them.
600 dollar bike and a 49 dollar battery I thought that was ???
I'm not sure what you mean?
$49 is a lot of money for some people, including myself. A Redcat RTR sport was $240, which is allot for retired elderly people to pay. That's what I think he said.

In the "budget" battery world, certainly hard to tell the difference!
