I heard you mention Drag On- Down Bottom for using the Triton, but the lead horns actually come from a Roland JV 2080 Synth. Believe it or not Swizz sampled the full loop off the DEMO mode. Just wanted to clarify. Anyways, love this series. Subscribed for sure.

Roland, I never got tired of. I preferred their JV1080 along with the E-mu Proteus 2000. The Trinity and Triton both had great sounds. I used just the Trinity on the intro for Nore's first album as well as Doug E Fresh's McDonald's commercial. I mostly used a combination of the Korg and Roland back then.
I remember renting the triton studio 61 as my very first korg workstation i ever gigged with, 2 months later, i bought a korg m50 as my permanent workstation, but even with the m50, there was something about the triton that always captivated me, so I eventually decided to buy the triton vst, and even the triton taktile 49 hardware synthesizer (the last of the hardware iterations of triton as of today) to take with me everywhere i go, why? Because i always enjoyed the sounds of triton
I have the MPC Expansions😆😆😆 of the Triton and yessir that Triton had doors getting kicked in, beautiful unit but every producer exhausted every good sound it had, it was no sound that was not used and exploited severely
IDGAF if a million producers had hit songs using every patch in that workstation. The workstation will NEVER be exhausted of every good sound. Music is about rhythm, melody, and chords. Not sounds. How many motherf^%%% in music used a grand piano????? I guess you think that is exhausted as well.
yoooo you killed this one! I been waiting on it to drop!!! This was THEE thing to have back when it came out. This and an MPC? talk about dominant...and these joints were affordable too! 'good video man. its funny how correct you are with all this info, before i can say it out loud youre already saying pharell ran this sound into the ground. also check out the cmi synth, it was from the 70s or 80s and had a touch screen. there is video of herbie hancock using it to make a beat, then slowing it down to around 90 bpm he literally invented hip hop in that moment and didnt realize it. also the cmi had a layout and interface incredibly similar to the fl studio piano roll
If u buy one nowadays should you go for the latest Korg Triton or is there a specific best one? I found a video of a 2000s Pop/R&B Producer he used the Korg Triton LE.
@Dyreck Production great video. The Trition is still a dope keyboard. You still see people using it at live gigs. Some of them had a cd on them. It's a classic keyboard. I wish I could find one at a cheap price. Dope video bro
Apple weren't the first to develop to the touch screen for consumers, but Korg was using a membrane-based touchscreen as opposed to a capacitive touchscreen. Nonetheless completely insane. I still recommend the Triton LE with the same exact sounds in a much lighter and slender package and it would still be my 1st pick for a gigging musician as FOH engineer and player myself. The MOSS expansion board was beautiful for studio use but I do not think the LE had the option. Interestingly enough, the LE being a gigging version still has the same 61 keys and I believe the same keybed as well! What dedication to the Triton synths from Korg. The only thing holding back players from the Triton is the weight. IMHO the Triton LE is the most underrated gigging synth ever made. Blow out of the water any Nord any day. Better quality than Yamah lighter offerings, that they're known for. You can get it 300 bucks!!!!!! Are you kidding me?!!! That's 4000 dollars worth of synth right there

Hardly ever bring it out and turn it on anymore, but I would never sell it...it was the 1st "pro level" piece of gear I bought.
Oh ok dope!
This guy is the gear encyclopedia
Lol..thanks.
Triton had an amazing keybed, the best synth action ever
Yup.
Yesss
The Triton with the MP 2000 midi hook up was the thing back in the day...
No Doubt fam!
Me and my boys put in on the Triton back in 2001, highschool years.
Nice.
my father still owns this beauty
Nice.
Roland fantom 06 is a good keyboard with sampler and 16 track sequencer.
No doubt..your reading my mind Sonic 1.
The real monster was that $10k Korg Oasys with the 10 inch touchscreen that came next!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Lol.Yeah man!
FAAAAACCCCTTTTTTTSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I feel prey hook, line and sinker...🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
@@eugenephillips481 me too lol! Still have em both
@@OGRagtoproy LUCKY!!!! 🤣🤣 I, unfortunately, traded my Oasys away years ago, but I do currently have great gear to compensate.
Cool video. The Kronos is a pretty kick ass workstation. Crystal clear sounds and 3rd party libraries make it amazing.
I feel u.
I still got my triton,. It still works.
Nice.
To be fair, when I'm making authentic 00s rnb music, I feel privileged to be able to still turn on my Triton Extreme and start sequencing. The sounds are timeless and ill never sell my Triton Extreme board.
I feel you!
That Triton had the best radio ready sound patches & drums ever made up to that point. The sounds were actually mastered & practically perfect out the box. Most in stereo & effected already. You didn't have to do anything but set the volume. Any doofus could sound competent with the Triton. It was a serious monster. #GreatPatches
Lol I feel you.
That’s why I love korg
you are doing good historical documentary work here. Bravo!
Lol. Thanks fam I appreciate it.
I very much enjoy these wah had happened was videos
Thanks fam.
Still used on most radio songs to this day
Yup.
I enjoyed the Korg radias much more than the Triton, it was a lot more versatile in terms of the sounds and rhythms that you could create, only used the Triton for the piano sounds as the radias lacked any
Can't lie the Radias was nice.. Might not be as sexy as the Triton but it was dope.
Hella late viewing this post, but thanks for the memories and the video. 👍🏾
Would be cool to see you do a vid on the Korg OASYS too.
No doubt fam..Its definitely on the list.
The Ruff Ryders Anthem was a JV1080 audition preset Swiss used...nonetheless great video bro. Keep em coming!
No doubt thanks fam.
Classic! Timbo getting his grub on!
Lmao!
In college, I would spend hours in guitar center playing with that piece of tech. I never could afford one, I might cop one just for nostalgia sake.
Thanks bro..Yeah Swiss was buggin lol..dope song though.
@@DyReckProductions lol. I could see how it sounds like a Triton and i'm sure they have a similar horn patch. He might have taken the drum kit from Triton though. Does sound very Triton!
I had a Triton back in the day. It was ahead of its time and a lot of hits were made on Tritons. It had the best strings at the current time. The Octave Strings to be exact. I still got my floppy disks somewhere. True story, someone stole my Triton and MPC 2500 and iMac. That was the first time I quit making beats 😆
Dang!..Thats crazy!
I have just discovered an old Triton at home but it is the Le version, I understand it is the basic one. is it too limited compared to the normal one? Thanks, great video
dope video, only second to all your voices xD
Thanks for this! I bought mine from GC in 2000 and paid it off in two years... now some of the buttons have stopped working so I think I'll sidegrade to a K2500 or Fantom... maybe an OASYS.
I feel you..Its a great synth.
easy to fix those front panel switches
the Triton with the ASR 10 was a great midi combination.. 🔥🔥
Oh ok no doubt.
Explain?
@@nostalgiaregret the sounds from the Korg x3 on sync with the ASR to resample and sound design accordingly etc
@@Tony_Anthemz three times on sync? I have a Triton but I don’t understand what that means?
@@nostalgiaregret the master and slave concept of midi but the audio Inputs on the asr 10 makes sampling the korg interesting because of the electronics and sample edit features on it midi connect them and let The Triton be the slave ..use the asr sequencer etc
i met a guy that had one link to a MPC and he was dope as hell
Oh ok nice.
I really enjoyed this video🤣this guy is funny
Dope series!!!
Thanks fam.
I had a love/hate relationship with both the Trinity and the Triton. I used both a lot on various records, but I got tired of having to use them all of the time
Right!!! Remember when the Roland XP series dropped?? Everyone in r&b used them so much too. I never bought any.
The Trinity sound was pretty nice..alot of movies was even scored with it.
Like I said, I just saw them everywhere I went. I did a lot of session work back then
@@avace917 Thats dope!..You was doing your thing.
Yeah I was thinking of getting one or even the rack mount.
@@DyReckProductions nice
I have the MPC Expansions😆😆😆 of the Triton and yessir that Triton had doors getting kicked in, beautiful unit but every producer exhausted every good sound it had, it was no sound that was not used and exploited severely
IDGAF if a million producers had hit songs using every patch in that workstation. The workstation will NEVER be exhausted of every good sound. Music is about rhythm, melody, and chords. Not sounds. How many motherf^%%% in music used a grand piano????? I guess you think that is exhausted as well.
@@dianevrules particular sounds were exhausted, get yo troll ass outta here
“....I only see twelve” I’m weak!!!! 😂
Lmao!!
Could you do one on Korg Trinity, I find it was used a lot in video games/anime soundtracks.
Yup..Your right!..Thats a good one..Gonna put that on the list.
I bought the Roland DJ70 that jawn was funky!
Lol. I feel you.
yoooo you killed this one! I been waiting on it to drop!!! This was THEE thing to have back when it came out. This and an MPC? talk about dominant...and these joints were affordable too! This unit probably was responsible for single handedly saving the Guitar Center franchise lol these and the Yamaha Motif...which i also hope you do a video on too! Love the channel!
No doubt fam thanks.
Oh wow I got check that out.
🔥 episode! Keep em coming fam!
Thanks fam.
id be interested if you did more vintage synths and maybe you did one on the sp303 since dilla and madlib used them
No doubt. The sp 303 was pretty nice.
The Triton changed my Life... So easy to make a beat...
I feel you.
Thanks fam..Yeah I do see people gig with them.
That's 4000 dollars worth of synth right there
The synth that pretty much dominated the charts in the late 90's- early 00's
Yeah man.
With stock sounds at that haha. Swizz Beatz and the Neptunes just murdered the stock sounds.
