No need to run the freezer continuously and waste valuable power - run it for one or two compressor cycles and turn off 12 hrs. and repeat.

That is, if the battery is in danger of running out of charge, it would be worthwhile to cut off the power from the inverter and use it e.g. every hour, then those idle losses would be eliminated.

That's not the real issue. The main issue is this - how long does it take to recharge the battery to 100% before the sun goes down? After all, a person needs to plan for several days or weeks of no power. I use qty 4 100AH LiFePO4 Batteries in parallel with a 3000/6000 Watt Pure Sinewave Inverter to power two freezers and a small refrigerator. If I'm at 100% Battery Charge when the sun is no longer useful - that's about one hour before the sun goes down - then by morning I'm at 76 to 78% Battery Charge. I use 400 Watts of solar and it takes literally all day to charge the batteries back to 100% charge. That's anywhere between 18 to 22 Amps of solar going into the batteries on a perfectly wonderful, bright sunny day - no clouds. So I could use another 400 Watts of solar and more money. In addition, I have a few other 100AH LiFePO4 Batteries to charge. I really need more solar panels and a better way to set them up. I use a Victron 100/30 Smart Charge Controller with a Victron 500 Smart Shunt. I monitor everything on my cell Phone. It really works great. However, in my opinion, Biden is leading us to total failure if he thinks he'll be able to eliminate Fossil fuel altogether. He's a fool along with his entire administration. Let's face it - when the sun doesn't shine, you cannot charge batteries.
