I bought the DW-5040PG-1 and I love it. I was also very interested in the GMW-B5000PG-9 but definitely wanted to see your unboxing and comparison to the 35th edition first. It was immediately clear to me that the Cornflake was out of the question for me. The colour difference between the case and the bracelet is serious. The bracelet will look like an inexpensive Chinese copy or an aftermarket product. Thanks for introducing the Cornflake and the direct comparison with the 35th edition. I find your reviews soothingly different and refreshing.
The bracelet colour differential is interesting and I am still thinking about it. So far I do like it but I need to explain why.. you’ve given me a good video idea!
Items produced in China can be expensive or cheap. Cheap things are not for you, but for you to meet your basic life needs. Open your eyes and look up. The only space station in the outer sky is made in China.
I have this silver model.
To me it looks like stone, go stone or concrete. I like the fact that it doesn't look like metal.
It would be difficult to capture this texture faithfully.
Your video is shot with natural light, which I think is very good.
To be honest, I don't think a video showing a clock with a lot of light is very helpful.
It's great that you can wear a gold watch. It pleases everyone around you.
I hope they will release a black model like the back case.

I also knew I needed both in my hand before I made a decision. The Cornflake is nice and does work but for some reason the shiny TFG seems more appropriate but it is a statement but one I like.

the 40th anniversary just looks like it has more character. The C3PO appears less exclusive, thats just my honest to god take on both these watches.
I think the Cornflakes (recrystallised) are very good watches. The coating is intriguing and I agree with you they look/ appear less exclusive that is probably a good word.
@@SavageKillaBees this is very good rational and I expect other watch enthusiasts and people who want a utility watch think just the same. I do like the gold cornflake. I do like gold and precious metal watches probably the best but for practicality or usability steel alloy is a good material.
@masterwatch People are running out of time to obtain this model though, I ordered mine from Japan a few hours ago even though i have been eyeing this model since last year, just decided to pull the trigger before I miss out. Just a few more pieces of this model available worldwide, most likely will be all sold by the end of the year. The C3PO (GMWB5000GD-9) will continue to be available (although I think this is a different model from the 35th anniversary edition - looks almost the same?)
I am from Canada and the 40th anniversary gold-carbon variant is completely sold out in this region.
It looks like the crystallized is more of a real gold bar color than the 35th to me personally. It looks like REAL gold and substantial.. the 35th is great looking also but less real gold bar to me
you are correct actually as when gold comes out of a cast it does often have a matt dull finish.
The 35th looks more costly, more uniform in color quality, and more like jewelry with a watch added. One liquid piece of beauty.
The cornflake? Eh, 🤷🏾♂️ how much of our minds are more gracious to that which is newer. The gold / all metal Casioak is a winner all around.
the cornflake in pictures does probably look strange and less premium but I can say in the hand it does feel better and perhaps in time might attract a following. You make some good points though.
I have now received my Casio 40th anniversary editions. Silver with dark dial for daytime 06:00 to 18:00. Gold with light disc for evening time 18.00 to 06.00. Then the day is covered with the best choice.
I haven't yet had the silver in my hand but I do like the silver outer part of the bezel where as on the old one it was black.

Cornflake looks more like a daily beater gold watch. Depends on where and what you're doing.
am still thinking about it to be honest.. Most probably still prefer the TFG-9 (35th shiny gold) but the jury is still out.
40th is more casual, more for everyday. 35th is sensible to swirls...
you could be right. Saying that I do tend to see what I am wearing or rather I pick the watch then an outfit.

cornflakes to me, so appropriate enough as a fun nick name. Some people get disproportionately emotional about these small things.
an example of global quality degradation from 35th to 40th.
right now I have broken my arm but as soon as I am functional I will finish a video I started on exactly this topic.
