In this video we visit the Bois Cheri Tea Plantation. We tour the factory and learn about the processes used on the island of Mauritius to make it's local teas.
After this we take a short drive up the mountain to a tea tasting. Here we get to try 10 different types of tea that are grown locally.
Following tea tasting, we had a stop at a local river, where we met some of the local residents, who were monkeying around...
From there, we travelled on to L'Aventure du Sucre where we learned about the history of sugar on the island, as well as the processes used to make crystallised sugar and molasses.
Whilst at L'Aventure du Sucre we got to taste most of the 15 different types of sugar on offer, as well as local jams, pastes and honey. Finally, Dan and Reb got to taste some local Mauritian Rum, although Elias and Clara had to sit that one out....
