Balance between treating the competitive scene fairly AND the casual community fairly seems to be too hard for Capcom. So they have made there decision. I don't know if we are ready for it.

😮I said Cassie instead of Cammie... I'm truly sorry. I've got MK1 on the brain.
I agree casual people should be catered to so that they can easily stand a chance against competitive a competitive people need to be open to improving and picking the new character so that they can dominate
This is largely the reason I enjoy this game. I think a lot of V's shortcomings came from only catering to competitive.
I think Fun is also a core aspect and I think the Rashid shake up is good thing. Makes the competition different from the last major.
I definitely agree. It's an aspect that I see some pro players taking offense to, but it needs to be this way
making the argument of fun is compelling, but how do they balance whats fun to play vs whats fun to play against? What happens if too many people get fed up playing against Rashid and getting beat down, and can't enjoy their mains bc Rashid is too strong?
The tourney is a week away???
Just found this video today, very thoughtful perspective
good vid, and yea it totally makes sense.

even my uncle, who normally would never touch a fighting game with a 100 ft pole, was messaging me about the at&t streamer tourney
capcom is making all the right moves here, financially speaking.

also as a bit of an aside, you KNOW that there are a few people competing that have gotten their hands on dev versions of the game with rashid in it for atleast a month now. interested to see how it goes down.
call me crazy but i feel like capcom knew exactly what they were doing dropping rashid right before evo, 2 whole days of the best players showing off what the new fighter can do... i feel like if players dont buy rashid on launch they'll definitley be picking him up after seeing what hes really capable of
bouta go to an esports comp thats happening 1 week after the akuma patch
this shit is even less fair dawg :((((((
Oh crap!
