Omg, I felt so bad for Herky when you guys were doing her "mustache" she just had the look of terror in her eyes! But the girls look so much better and they were both really good when you were cutting their fur! They're just too cute!!!!!!💕
I know she is so pitiful :( That’s why i never do it. Maybe once per year. And also why i don’t bring her to the groomers!
I have a Cavapoo which requires a lot of grooming! A channel I’ve been obsessed with is Go Groomer! She teaches viewers to groom their dogs at home and she gives awesome advice!! Right now I’m not doing a whole groom but working on in between to work extend the time in between trips.
She's amazing. She's really passionate about grooming and so gentle

We have 4 cavaliers at home and as much as I love their Grinch feet - so happy to know I'm not the only one to call them that ! - I also love when the hair is short. I call their small feet "mocasin", it's so cute. We mostly equalize the hair on their belly and legs and ears if necessary. Or we use a thinning chisel (I don't know if it's the right word) to thicken their silhouette. They are so used to be in our arms and cuddled all the time that they don't mind being groomed. We do it at least once a month. We bathe them when necessary too :)
Watching this one more time before I give my cav his first at home groom. 😃 I purchased the grooming kit and thinning shears you recommended. He does very well with bathing and drying and has been to the groomer about 6 times. Doesn't seem to mind it. Wish me luck! And thanks for the tips

They look so cute natural. I bet their fur soaks up water like a sponge! All the Cavs I groom either get clipped short all over to prevent matting or to stop them brining dirt inside or they are left natural but have their feathers taken completely off! Although I do love when their feet hair are trimmed down makes them look so much tidier 😍

Hi I’m just informing you that we don’t think we will get a cavalier because of their Heath. I have anxiety and I’m to afraid that I’m going to think about it all the time. We have decided we will probably get a Japanese spitz because they are also lap dogs and being twelve I want a dog that likes to cuddle. The only thing different about them than cavaliers is that they bark more, their looks and their health. I hope you support my decision and we will obviously still watch herky and Milton because cavaliers will still remain as one of my favourite dog breeds😁
I have a Cavalier 6 years old. I understand your concern about their health. We just lost our over 14 year old Standard Poodle Sunday night (old for a Standard) our 6th Standard--but I always required health info on them for anything that SPs seem to have to show up in the breed. 6 or 7 years ago we knew it was time to think smaller and less athletic and active and we had been introduced to the Cavs, had talked to one of the people heavily involved with their health issues on a national committee and still were hesitant. He helped me find a breeder that is involved in helping improve issues particularly with MVD--testing, breeding, etc. And we bought Gemma as a 4.5 mo old. I and my vet know that is just history and anything can happen--but things can happen with any dog or breed. Having had many dogs I'm too aware of that but I require at least I have health records of their family on both sides, testing if possible for whatever issues are common in the breed--and do the best I can for their health with keeping weight normal, exercise, vet visits with a vet that is familiar with the breed--and enjoy them.
Whatever breed or mix you choose just enjoy them and love them. Its sad when we lose them but just living with them is a joy--I've had dogs all my life and hope I'll be able to for many more years. In fact I am putting out feelers for another Cav in the next year. As my vet says, you don't replace a dog, you fill the void.
@@picnicphoto I’m so sorry to hear about your poodle and thank you so much for all you pr support☺️And I am still on cavalier waiting lists I case one comes up so the cavalier hope is not lost. We are also on waiting lists for breeders who do all the Heath checks, have the records of there parents etc. And if we do get a cavalier (50, 50 chance) I will get the cardiac supplement and will enjoy all the time I have with her😁
There is a cavalier near me so we are just going to check if she is healthy and if no one gets her she will be ours☺️

I hate seeing the Cavaliers shaved! Why have a Cav if you're going to remove their beauty spots? Maybe next time you trim Herkey's moustache, try trimming with the trimmers doing down instead of up ... because he could see the trimmers so close to his eyes. I have my 5th Cavalier now .. & I bought a Mars Coat King for my first Cavalier & now after 35 years, it's still going strong. It allows me to thin our Bess's coat in the summer-time without sheering her coat close to her skin. It also allows me to see how much I'm taking off without losing her feathers. She's like your big boy ... as in, she has a thick, unruly coat ... with thick feathers. I think that some Cavs have thick coats, whilst others are finer. I hope my suggestions help. I'd like to have seen you doing inside their ears & have their butts facing the camera so I could see how you trimmed their butts & back legs with the thinning sheers. I've never used thinning sheers, so not sure whether to stay with the Coat King, or also try the thinning sheers. I also have a shaver that I'm thinking of using on Bess's underbelly as it's long & gets knotty on walks ... & I think it will be easier to keep her belly clean ... I just need assistance to hold Bess as she's a bit of a 'madam' & has me wrapped around each of her four paws ... esp. now that she's older ..... so complains when getting brushed, etc. She likes to be left alone .. as long as she's close to me.

You guys 😂 My Cav is happiest when he’s running through parks and rolling in horse manure. So, I have a professional groomer cut his hair short. He still looks great, but often mistaken for a Springer 🤷♂️

This is probably a nasty question but I’ve never had dogs before and I want one in the future... when your dog poops do you have to wipe their bottom? I’m scared my future dog will poop and sit on the rug and then get droppings on the rug or something. Are the poops dry? What if they’re wet and messy? Someone please explain. Sorry it’s kind of gross but I’m curious. 💁🏽♀️

You groom them really gently.... :)
I try! They are not the biggest fans of grooming so I try to be as gentle as possible

I couldn’t groom my dogs lol.. I have a hypoallergenic breed that’s hair grows like crazy. I get them groomed 4 times a year. My breeder does our grooming so we drive 1 1/2 hr each eat to get them groomed lol. What I wouldn’t do for my little mini schnauzers.

You can't stop grooming this type of dog they would become all knotted, dirty, and would eventually suffer far more than the ocassional discomfort that they feel from grooming.
