“You’re Penn and Teller, and I think we’re good!” I loved that response. Even though Penn didn’t specify exactly what your assistant did, you showed humility, grace and respect instead of fighting them on it. Hats off to you sir. Awesome trick regardless!
Watch when he passes the little straight jacket to his assistant. You don't see it coz the first one is in his sleeve and she produces a different . Spotted straight away . Watch closely you don't see him pass it directly to her
@@mercedeswilkins9085 4:05..... when he puts the jacket on and he hides his small jacket under the big jacket and she then produces another small jacket. You don't see the switch
4:05 my friend. Watch when she passes him the jacket . You don't see him pass the small jacket she produces a small jacket from under the big jacket. It's obvious the switch is then. Why would you do that. Pass her the small jacket first then put on the large jacket
Here is my theory. At 4:04 he puts the deck in a pocket in the jacket. She takes a different deck to make it look like its his but it isn't. He forced Penn to take the Fool card originally which has some sort of identifier on it that he can find while in the straight jacket and pull it out. At 4:39 he bends down and I think she opens up the sleeve with a zipper maybe. At 4:51, she reaches on the side we can't see into the sleeve and he pushes the card into her glove. Now she has the card which we can't see and somehow gets it onto that blade when the camera cuts away slightly. What do you think ? Such a great trick - well done! Am I wrong?
WOW!!! Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words and support. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Thank you!!!! I hope you can see the show in person some day soon.
The secret is at 5:34. Pause here. Use the period key on your keyboard to frame forward and you can see on the assistant loading the card into the the blade contraption on the far right of the screen. It would have been more obvious if they had not cut away to the audience and the blade spinning. She is just finishing up. Her hand is directly over the area where the card appeared. The blade has a "pull" that yanks the card with a thread or she stuck it on a blade there that was hinged to spring out when the blades dropped. The handoff was earlier when she she held the straight jacket in front of him.
@@thisiscait I had two theories, one was a card pull using a wire to bring it into the blade from him, and the other was that the assistant set it into a blade that flips out when it was falling. I was pretty confident that it was the second. But. It bothered me so much that you could see the handoff of the mini straightjacket when the assistant blocks it from view. They wouldn't need to do that. He could have handed it to her in the open. So I freeze framed those blades a few times using comma and period to frame forward and back. At 7:04 you can see those blades are solid and don't look like they flip out. So back to the hand off, if he keeps the card he can use a string pull, but the reason I didn't think he did so much is that it would be hard to get the card to puncture the blade. But again, at 7:04, I'm pretty sure that is a fake tip of the blade and the card is not punctured at all. He releases the card and fake tip and the string sends it up to the blade as he is spraying the cards. He tears the card off with two hands to get rid of the tip and to make it look punctured by a blade. So, I'm going with the pull theory now based on 7:04.

Loved this all. The comedy ("romantic sound", Penn's laugh at the end, etc.) I was completely fooled by this. But I think I've pieced it together somewhat. The cards is passed to the assistant behind the straight jacket I think we've all gathered, but it's still crazy that the card is not in the jaws at 6:43 and it is at 6:44. It has to be a clever engineering feat I think. It's hard to tell because I think the assistant's move maybe happens off camera, but I think she put the card into position when she touches the machine before it's raised up. Then the jaws actually do fall and pierce the card. I'm picturing some kind of holder that snaps into place to prevent it from moving until it's impaled. Very clever set up. This does mean that the jaws would fall and hurt him if something wrong happened and he didn't escape the jacket in time. I'm hoping they'd have some sort of safety stop if that were to happen. I'm guessing 60 seconds is more than enough time for him though. He probably could do it pretty regularly in like 35 seconds if needed and adds in the extra time for safety. Very clever. Very well done!
My guess is that when he lets go, it release the plunger up slightly and disengages the safety mechanism. Still no idea on how that card got there though.
@gsdcbill 3:31 and 5:07. Those are different straight jackets for the cards because the zip ties have switched directions. So yeah, he never passes the cards (plural) to her.
at 5:34 we can see the chain has slack on it, meaning that something else is preventing the jaws to close, and the chain might simply open upon tension.
Although Chelsea, the assistant, is VERY worth watching closely, I don't see how she could have handled the card. If you pause the video with the 10 second countdown shown, you can clearly see that there are no cards on the teeth. Excellent illusion, very skillfully performed.

They have to work on that transfer so it is the same direction going in and coming out. Otherwise great trick all around. A lot of fun!
Interesting reversal on the old trick; usually the assistant exists to distract from the magician, but this time, the Magician is the distractor from the assistant. Excellent idea!

What a great trick. This recently aired here in Australia and had to come here to have another look! Most comments have mentioned the potential switch etc, but the card on the spike is sensational. The signature isn’t facing out, which I think is pretty crucial, but this is sensational. Well done!
Been to numerous shows. Always leave with a mind blowing experience. Followed all the big name magicians. You are by far the best. An after Watching Penn an Teller the craziest. Big fan. Billy the Liquor guy.
Deck switch #1 when he picks up the mini straight-jacket. Now assistant has the deck with the death card and Leon has a different deck, in which he puts the signed fool card. The rest of the cards in that deck are glued in so that it's easy to just remove the signed Fool card when the time comes. Switch #2 is when she hands him the full-size straight-jacket. Leon keeps the fool deck in his left hand and the assistant passes him the death card, which she removed from the original deck backstage. He removes the fool card from the rigged deck while she is securing the straps (possibly just before.) At this point he has both cards. Then he passes the fool card to the assistant while she is securing his left arm. Her right hand is gone behind his body for a couple of seconds. It is supposed to look like she is being rough with him and grabbing his left arm, but she is hiding the fool card in her glove or sleeve. When the jaws are being displayed, the assistant runs her left hand on the top of the jaws and places the card in secure area, on a spike that is retracted with a spring mechanism. When the jaws clamp shut, the spring mechanism is triggered, showing the spike and impaling the fool card in the process. Leon reveals the death card that he already had on him, and then points to the fool card on the spike.
Interesting theory man. Close on a lot and off on a lot. Either way I appreciate you taking the time to watch, comment, and play the game of trying to figure it out. Thank you!

@@stefanandrews5098 Yes! Plus take into account what Val Valentino did back around 20 years ago with his "magic's biggest secrets finally revealed". His lame excuse for giving away all the secrets was to get magicians to come up with new and better tricks. Penn & Teller devised a much better way. They KNOW that they are two of the best in the world and by challenging the world to fool them, other great magicians have become inspired to create tricks that are difficult for Penn & Teller to figure out and/or gives magicians a reason to devise new methods in performing tricks that, despite their experience and research (which spans almost a century) leaves Penn & Teller completely baffled. Penn & Teller did it in a way that was entertaining. They did it in the most clever and elegant method that could be devised. They did, and are still doing it in the BEST way ever achieved. Funny enough being upside down in a straight jacket makes it easier to escape. Without being upside down it’s very difficult as you don’t have gravity helping you. Good trick though

There was another dangerous act, also a sword-through-the-card act, where Penn commended the magician for taking out the "smart one", ie. Teller, while the magic was happening. He didn't fool them anyway, but it was a more simple act. Maybe this would have had a different outcome if you had put Teller on stage! Loved it! As they say, there are many variations on this, but there was enough there to be genuinely entertaining and mystifying. Certainly fooled me (and I know the explanation for the previous act I was talking about).
The transfer takes place when he takes the straightjacket from Chelsea. From Penn's code, some sort of zip wire to the tooth? I don't know. It didn't help that the camera cut away at key moments.
Incredible stuff and having the card on the blade is a super original idea. And I think P&T themselves understood how interesting and exciting it was because they did some things like that in the past but not up to that level of awesomeness. Penn having that laugh at the end usually means that he's pretty happy about what he's seen.
The detail can be found at the zip-tie (or tie-wrap as we call it where I live). The tie has a "direction" of locking. And he was not careful enough to keep it the same. Check the orientation of the "knot" right after Pen is handing it to him...then check it again when Chelsie is trying to place it on the stand...it's in the opposite way. The original was kept somewhere in the straight jacket. Still, I'm not a magician, I'm impressed by the whole setup and show and the magic involved! It's quite intimidating and physically engaging and...the assistance is g o r g e o u s ! My respects Sir! Hope to have a chance to see you up close performing!

Had to watch that a couple times to figure out how it was done. VERY cool show. Biggest clue is that's likely a duplicate mini straight jacket. And Chelsea did a great job as well.
I hate when people say “military grade” like it’s something so great and impressive...any service member past or present can tell you military grade just means the cheapest one made...
HE FOOLED THEM for sure!!😂😂. They were saying how he got rid of the deck. But that doesn’t answer how the card end up at the jaw. I rewatched for a couple of times. And couldn’t see a thing. Nicely done man 🤌🏽
You only see what the camera allows you to see. Im sure they cut itBUT in all fairness to the performer we have super slow mo over and over they deserve a little concession
This is the comment I was looking for. The assistant and the blatant looking handoff seemed more of misdirection to me. The real trick was getting the card on the jaw. It was there after it shut before it was lowered.
as soon as the mini straight jacket trades hands behind the straight jacket I call shenanigans. The problem with TV magic is we have to watch what we are shown... not what we want to see - namely what the assistant is doing while you are misdirecting. But, its an awesome trick!

The handoff was earlier when she she held the straight jacket in front of him.
I think this is actually it. It's a hidden blade that opens at the drop.

@@magicrockstv5411 yeah, I'd pay money to see u perform 100%. 👊🤘❤
@@jeremystark3350 Thank so much man!!! That means so much. You can check our tour dates @ www.MagicRocks.com maybe we are coming to a city near you.
Interesting reversal on the old trick; usually the assistant exists to distract from the magician, but this time, the Magician is the distractor from the assistant. Excellent idea!
Thank you!
My pleasure, everyone!
This magic trick was a true spectacle! Very entertaining and must take so much hard work. I would love to see you perform in person!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. I'm so happy you get it and appreciate what it takes to do something like this. I hope you can make it to a live show someday.
What a great trick. This recently aired here in Australia and had to come here to have another look! Most comments have mentioned the potential switch etc, but the card on the spike is sensational. The signature isn’t facing out, which I think is pretty crucial, but this is sensational. Well done!
Thank you so much for checking it out and taking the time to watch it again and comment. I appreciate the support.
"That's a very romantic sound" -- and the two kinksters give each other a meaningful look ;)
Great performance, buddy!
Thanks so much brother! It was a blast.
It's that thing when you watch it in x.25 slow mode over and over and still never catch a slip up. Well done sir! 👏 great performance! 👏
Thank you so much for the feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. More on the way!
Alternate explanation for the death card is that she passes him a whole deck of death cards that she had put in a mini-straight-jacket backstage.
Interesting theory man. Close on a lot and off on a lot. Either way I appreciate you taking the time to watch, comment, and play the game of trying to figure it out. Thank you!

Something happens behind the straight jacket. Not really sure what, but at 5:09, you'll see the spot where I don't have a clue how they did this.
Haha!!! I LOVE this comment. Made me LOL. You rock John. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Chelsea has got to be the most attractive assistant I have ever seen in a magic show.
I agree!
It's her imperfection that amplifies her... that & her great hair style...
& smile
& walk
& her fantastic feminine form!
Yeah, I saw the "hand-off" to hottie behind the straight jacket which is what Penn was talking about her being really helpful.
That being said... I was still blown away at the performance.
Absolutely fantastic! New fan here!
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. I appreciate it. Thanks for being a new fan and thanks for your support! Just getting started. Stay tuned! Hope you can make it to a live show someday.

HAHA. Thank you so much. I am glad you enjoyed it.
A trick that I know how it's done! Not that I could do it as smoothly though. This was well done.
Exactly. And thank you. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
This guy was my local magician in my small city and I saw him at alot of other kids birthday party's and corporate events. It's great to see him make it big like he did.
Hi Vito. Thank you so much for the years of support. My home town and the surrounding areas have always been so good to me. I so grateful for the years of continued support. Thanks for stopping by the channel and checking it out. More content coming soon.
Chelsea was far from invisible. In fact, I still see her with my eyes closed.
the only reason I clicked on this one!
I slowed down the actual escape and the card throw. the card was not placed. it's possible it was on the other side, but it wasn't on the tooth at the snap. Looked a second time at when he got into the rigging, she didn't place the card on the opposite side of the jaws. I don't know how it was done
You are correct on all accounts. It is also not on the other side! :-) Thank you for your respectful comments and for enjoying the game of Fool Us!
@@magicrockstv5411, I love it, I used to not like P&T, just never liked Penn much. But over the years their style won me over. Love trying to find the inner tricks. I have mad respect for these guys, trying to fool a combined 100+ years of magic background
This is how the card got there.
Spoiler alert
He paused time and went back and placed the card on the tooth and then unpaused time
@@itzbebop Finally a reasonable, logical guess!!! LOL :-)
@@crazylarryjr Yeah! It is not easy at all. They are great separately but combined it is dam near impossible to fool them. Especially as time goes on. They just keep getting better.
you reminded me of those daredevils I used to see. Thanks a lot man! I know all card tricks are either sleight of hand or pre- setup but to watch your whole performace was amazing.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching.
This is the Rube Goldberg of card sword routine :)
I'll take it! Thanks! LOL
This is the only show where the contestants can fail and yet they don't actually fail. Because the audience is fooled still by it
It is a great show! P&T only mean well. Thanks for checking it out.
That’s part of what makes this show stand out from all of the other talent based shows - no one loses, everyone gets to perform in front of a massive theater to huge applause, and for two giants of magic.
That experience is a win already, fooling them is just a bonus
Noone can beat these guys....unless they fool them.
As I viewer I never even care of Penn and Teller were fooled or not, because we already got to see the act!
I love how penn sounded sarcastic the entire performance
9:30
penn : this time we kept our eyes on you and your assistant as well
me : well I only did the second part
Great !! Enjoy watching it ! Keep going man !

I love close up magic, but you've got to admit going big with an element of danger is always a winner, great performance !!!
HI Justin. I love close up magic as well. But I do have an slightly bigger lover for stage magic. You are correct... going big with danger always seems to be a crowd pleaser. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

Great performance I particularly liked the magic zip-tie that switched itself around the other way between the close-ups at at 3:31 and 5:07. I still don't know how the signed card got onto the jaw though!
Haha! Zip ties are magic. Did you know that? LOL. Thanks for checking it out. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great spot i knew that's where the magic happened
Fantastic incredible performance. 😊😊👍👍😊😊
Thank you so much!
Funny enough being upside down in a straight jacket makes it easier to escape. Without being upside down it’s very difficult as you don’t have gravity helping you. Good trick though
You are 100% correct. Thank you GRAVITY. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Pen laugh is exactly like Joker,😆😆
But really, he's 3 of clubs. You got fooled!
That's a great trick. When you initially told the audience that you didn't find the card, everyone didn't really know how to react.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I had a lot of fun with this routine.
They switched bags when he put the jacket on. I usually don't figure these things out but it helps to have video you can rewind and capture the switcharoonie.

I know Reza. I've had several conversations with him over the phone but have never met him in person.
And now I'm here to the second fool. Enjoy this rock Leon, very entertaining.

What an amazing trick man. Great job.
Thank you so much man! I appreciate you commenting and checking out my stuff!
his hair stayed electrocuted even tho he has recovered
I was there! Great job!!!!
Thank you James! Your rock brother.
The transfer takes place when he takes the straightjacket from Chelsea.
From Penn's code, some sort of zip wire to the tooth? I don't know. It didn't help that the camera cut away at key moments.
I saw the sketchy hand off but i have no clue how he got it into the jaws
Incredible stuff and having the card on the blade is a super original idea. And I think P&T themselves understood how interesting and exciting it was because they did some things like that in the past but not up to that level of awesomeness. Penn having that laugh at the end usually means that he's pretty happy about what he's seen.
Thank you so much for you kind words and for checking out my TH-cam channel. I really appreciate your support. Magic Rocks!

@@magicrockstv5411it was really fun t to watch!
Had to watch that a couple times to figure out how it was done. VERY cool show.
Biggest clue is that's likely a duplicate mini straight jacket.
And Chelsea did a great job as well.
the switch behind the jacket was pretty obvious

3:27 is the most genuine reaction to a joke. Love it!
HE FOOLED THEM for sure!!😂😂. They were saying how he got rid of the deck. But that doesn’t answer how the card end up at the jaw. I rewatched for a couple of times. And couldn’t see a thing. Nicely done man 🤌🏽
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. I appreciate your positivity and feedback.
I was just at his show
Thank you for the support!
Holy shit... Chelsea made it a little difficult to focus on the trick. lol Which, of course, was the point, but... holy shit, that outfit...
as soon as the mini straight jacket trades hands behind the straight jacket I call shenanigans. The problem with TV magic is we have to watch what we are shown... not what we want to see - namely what the assistant is doing while you are misdirecting. But, its an awesome trick!
Thanks for your respectful comments. You are correct. TV Magic is difficult.
That's a very romantic sound......nice one
