- Fooler on Penn & Teller: Fool Us! Alan Hudson comes to Las Vegas to try to fool 2 of the best magicians in the world, Penn & Teller. If you become a 'fooler' you win a spot in the Penn & Teller show in Las Vegas. Alan decided that finding cards was too easy, so tried to find one whilst tightly wrapped up in plastic wrap!

The premise of Penn & Teller: Fool Us (as seen on CW Channel) is simple - finding a signed playing card but without using his hands. Expertly wrapped in plastic wrap (cling film in England/Seran Wrap for USA) by the host Alyson Hannigan (Buffy, American Pie, How I Met Your Mother).
Penn & Teller: Fool Us Season 9. Filmed at the Rio Hotel and Casino in the Penn and Teller Theatre, Las Vegas.

Alan, when I watch what happens in .25x speed, it's plainly obvious that I am fooled 4 times slower. Great trick!

my favorite moments on fool us are when penn suggests the solution to the trick, often times fairly confidently, only to have the magician tell him that no, that's not it at all. Penn and teller both immediately get so excited when they hear their hunch was wrong, it's honestly really cool to see how passionate they are
Bear in mind producers can tell them if they are correct or not. I believe producers wouldn't let them tell the method right away if they were correct, so in this case I believe Penn knew very well he was guessing wrong
@@gonzalogoded2089 that’s true. There’s even been a few rare cases where Allison gets informed by one of the producers/judges saying P&T didn’t get it even though they believed they did.
My favourite part of this is that you seem legitimately surprised that you fooled Penn and Teller. Congratulations!!!

I'm not a magician, but I feel like the soul of this trick was in the misdirection and not on the moves.
Absolutely beautiful.
Misdirection is one of the primary fundamentals to magic/sleight of hand. Indeed, sometimes, that's the point.
Alyson is such a treasure. That thing with the trophy and the plastic wrap was so sweet and funny!

I may be wrong, but Penn not talking in code could’ve been because he almost certainly knew it wasn’t the right guess anyway. Congrats on a fabulous, funny trick! ❤
That was my thought too. He knew it wasn't a right guess.
Yes, Penn is a showman through and through. When he doesn’t have code for a correct guess that he likes, he just has Teller draw a diagram in his notebook and shows it to the magician discreetly.
@@stephenbeck7222 could be wrong but maybe that (teller walking up/whispering in his ear) couldn’t happen due to the covid regulations? No idea though and maybe Penn did think his guess was wrong
I've seen comments saying that they take much kore time than we see here and the producers/judges can gear everything they say and even say something back like "if you think thats it, you can just say it".
Not wanting to break one secret of the show, so just a litle: Penn did know it wasn't the right guess

We had to wait for it for years but this was the time when I first felt Allison was on par with Jonathan Ross as a host.
The card fountion was a great distraction. Love both of their reaction to seeing the card.

good act and a hysterically funny ending. I think the absolute best part was when you proved to penn that you couldn't move your arms by trying to hold the bottom of the trophy as you exited the stage.
He didn't say that he couldn't move his arms... he said he didn't do it that way.. he did it another way.
Really great act. Loved the patter and your wonderful humor. Seeing Teller's expression when the card appears was priceless. Thoroughly enjoyed act.

The move was so appropriate and natural, you really couldn't see it unless you know it's happening, and even then, the card just shows up, like it still looks like magic, which is very very cool.

I'm convinced that part of the contract when you win is that you have to create a TH-cam channel and upload your performance so that it gets a lot of views for ad revenue and that either the network or penn&teller get a percentage of the ad profits. Almost every winner had their own YT channel with their performance uploaded.

He palms the card and puts it under the Lapel of his jacket. When he moves his arm a certain way it drops from his jacket.
Very close and almost perfect, rewatching it I can see how it's done; it does involve motion but the card never moved ...
