    Great job man,just a little pointer if you run 10ga power always match with 10ga ground..its a circuit and you will bottle neck and can cause a wire to get hot and catch fire if you are not careful.keep up the great work

    Turning on Aux switch 3, "I don't hear any sparks or see any smoke!" Anyway, this is the exact installation I am doing tomorrow. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.

    Better late than never I guess, but I finally got to watch it. Great video. The same gauge wire is a safe rule of thumb and it deals with the current going through both wires being the same. If you place a fuse based on the max safe specs of the larger wire then the smaller one will possibly overheat and create a fire. If your fuse amperage is smaller than the rating of the smaller wire in the circuit then the circuit is still safely protected by the fuse. Sorry for the long comment. Looking forward to the fridge video.

    Thanks again. Another great Video. I have one of those Power Outlets, also. I hesitated before going any further. I am nervous about cutting on a new truck bed, but, I like the way you did yours...and of course, I am going to do mine the same way. I mean it keeps the opening smaller. Thank You for this. And the RTV, I never thought of that! When I got my Gladiator, brought it home, this is the first thing I did. I ran wire to the back, same as you- top of the frame rail. Then I got to the power outlets...I stopped. I anchored the wire to that plastic cap, so it wouldn't dangle down and hit the road, till I figured out what I was going to do. Now, I have the confidence to continue.....if this thunderstorm would just stop!
    Thank You

    I subscribed once i saw the ARB installation, i dont have the aux switches nor a switch system 😅 but i can manage to install one on the engine to turn the compressor on and off. This mod is also something i see myself doing. Very straight forward. Im from MD and in glad to see youtuber like you near by.

    Good job and good video. I'll be doing something similar to my Ranger soon. I think in my case I will use a foam or rubber gasket instead of caulk or adhesive. That way if there is a problem I can remove the whole plate easily. I will also be able to wire it from the bed instead of having to get under the truck. Love to see what kind of fridge that is. Thanks for the vid.

    Was just what I was looking for. Great step-by-step. Question: It didn't seem too necessary, but wondering if it would have been easier to wire up the switches before mounting to bed wall? Thanks again.

    I think u should up the size on your ground .. at least the same size as your positive

    • @sketchyjeep6751
      @sketchyjeep6751  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i was thinking of doing that. I was trying to research the need for a large gauge ground wire. Couldn't find anything definite.

    • @jkustockaphobia2421
      @jkustockaphobia2421 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, and yes you should change it out to the same gauge as your positive because the “ground” is your return wire and will carry same amperage as your “supply” wire.
      For example , your arb has same gauge wire on positive and negative because it’s needed. I just don’t want your brand new JT to catch fire 🔥 or anything so I figured I’d let u know

    • @Brown-papi
      @Brown-papi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe its because of the strong current a thicker cable will stand what ever you connect. EG: a fridge or power banks like jackery. He using differebt AWG to the other one because those use less voltage.
