So I'm not sure how their probable slight mispronunciation of latin could have been something to correct them on just as a POI. The art CC didn't turn anyone into bad people... it just brought out the worst in them because they couldn't handle their own influence. The biggest weak point and best teller of a flawed character is how one talks about other people. A big chunk of the art CC is focused on talking only about the bad in people, not trying to encourage positive change, building people up. adding obvious emotional manipulation in the mix and you know who you're dealing with: a person that could crumble as soon as their flawed character is revealed. Observing the art CC as long as I have I often quickly pick out the ones that can't handle and work with their own flaws. it's kind of an icky feeling, sensing their narcissistic tendencies. (it's often their extremely judgy nature that throws me off). Some of them are great at masking it, just letting it out behind closed doors (Like the peach and the lion did) to a degree that I could be fooled. but a lot of the darker ones... well, they don't even bother to hide. Pattern recognition can be fun like that.
watching the community rise and fall was genuinely the experience. watched it rise when i was in middle school then it all came crumbling down when i was in senior year. wild as hell.
I simply never like how nit-picky they tend to be more times than not, and that brushed me the wrong way because obviously we're different people, and therefore, we don't operate one-to-one and yet, many of these people expect them to function like that and make as if you should've known that from the start. It sounds really pretentious because it is. If they want to be nice and gentle, then word your criticisms as you want to be nice and gentle. But apparently, the harsh Christian parent was the only frame of reference they had and did not try to improve on that discipline growing up. (I know that isn't the case with all of them, but they tend to talk about their personal lives enough times. It's safe to say many of them had that upbringing) This is something that most people need to understand when slurs are used. "Words are only as effective depending on how they are used." In other words, saying F slur shouldn't instantly trigger someone if it's used to make an example in a sentence, but understandably offended when it is used to insult or belittle someone. But apparently, this is Twitter, and the moment the word is used, it only matters it is used, not for the context why it was used in the first place. I honestly don't know what's more absurd. The fact this was taught to everyone in elementary and middle school, or the fact, literal adults forget these lessons, because feelings matter over logic and reasoning?
You forgot the victimization they always want to be the victim. The age excuse is something they break for people they like and don’t like (there is probably more that I’m forgetting) but its a massive hugbox of people that only agrees with them

99% of art commentary channels be like: Admit fault of past actions. Difficulty: Impossible It's absurd how many of them can't do something so simple like that. (I personally find Chaos55t's situation the most asinine. Because that could've easily been a simple admit fault, and no one would have bothered to push any further, especially since it was way too many years ago and not much info can be recovered on what happened exactly.)
Are all communities like this? There’s something about the Art Community in general where drama and vicious bullying and backstabbing is just rampant. Where people like to pretend to be morally superior but secretly are mentally and emotionally unstable while lacking integrity or empathy.
It makes me so sad to see how the art community has turned out. All the people i watched used to be such an inspiration to me when i was kid, drawing my cringy pictures while their videos played. I wanted to be part of it. Now here i am at 21 and i feel sad for my child self having to look at those who once inspired her turning out to be mostly terrible or just crappy people. Spoctor, creepshow, hopeless peaches and even more. They used to be some of my favorites. I sometimes wanna go back and watch some of the old videos, but i cant because most of the videos, again, were made by terrible people, so watching wouldn't feel the same. But also, a lot of videos have been deleted, so even if i wanted to, I couldn't. Being older now, i understand what i watched as a kid was only surface level, and a lot of creators were worse behind screen, i wish i could go back to that time of ignorant bliss just to be able to enjoy it all again with that nostalgic feeling. Id give anything to have a taste of that simple view of life again..
That's understandable and it sucks. I've been there too But I use it to say "Well I won't be like that". Look at the mistakes they've made and see where they went wrong, do that those of us to come after won't make those mistakes again.
The Art CC imo is a concentrated sample of the perfectionism and polarization of social media in general, difference being the small size makes for (ironically) simple documentation. It's the same trope of instagram beauty standards except it's a standard of morals, politics, niche opinions, usually all of the above. And _everyone_ has a different standard. Users treat themselves like celebrities and expect others to do the same.
The Art CC is dead. The Slideshow CC is hanging on by a thread and it may take years to recover from all the drama that would affect so many people. 2024 sure is a crazy year for multiple communities.
Its because they don't care about anyone but themselves. They are very self centered. They only say they have empathy for others because its a mask to hide what they are. These people will do anything for power while pretending to be good.
This video really hit me XD I've followed the art commentary community for about 7 years... it feels weird that it's been so long. I usually watched just to pass time or to have some background noise while working on something so I never reaally "took in" what was being said in all the drama videos which was for the better. But this community did really shape me and I remember for the longest time I've wanted to have my own youtube channel to post videos on just whatever I want. I am glad I didn't make one when I was younger. My comprehension skills have gotten a lot better over the years so I feel like I could start making videos in the future. (without making a fool of myself, although that might still happen lol) Also JAR, you were always my favorite out of all those youtubers and the only one i still come back to regularly and i enjoy your videos even after all these years! You've always seemed a little more level-headed to me. XD
Heh... a good quote for all this drama is "Those who can't remember the past, are condemned to repeat it" and "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." Seriously maybe if we stop trying to have the Spocker Drama move of creating drama to delete someone and turn against those who help you, maybe none of what transpired would have happened. Life Will always teach you is that the hardest blows is the sucker punch from someone you've underestimated. I recently watch a video about how good people become evil and there were a few factors. The greater good: "Doing what is the betterment for all." Authority: "I'm in a position of power and control." Unaccountability: "As long as I'm doing what is good then I'm doing nothing wrong." Dehumanizing: "Look how much of an awful human being they are!" And Justifying: "A wrong was done, this just makes it right!" But deeper down it's all just malice at the end. A sick need to be in right over someone they've viewed is wrong like a cathartic fix to make them feel like their important or good while trying yo justify their abhorrent actions as the right thing to do. Maybe it's best to let this community just burn down.

As someone who has been on the internet since the 90ies, just boggles the mind how these people can get themselves so implicated in shit and then basically get bullied off youtube and such in a few years, or months even. Like, did they never learn internet 101, not airing your dirty laundry online, not posting under your real name, not feeding the trolls?
i have a degree in philosophy. finding a fallacy in an argument is like having a crack in a wall, and a hammer. if hammered correctly, the crack will topple the wall, the fallacy can ruin an argument. but you have to actively beat it with the hammer, a fallacy existing on its own does not evaluate an argument, you NEED to demonstrate how it effects the argument in a way that refutes it. tu quoque is really only active when used to deflect criticism or when otherwise used instead of an argument. also there's the fallacy fallacy, which is like accusing a wall with a crack in it of being rubble. just because an argument has a fallacy in it doesn't mean that it is automatically invalid or useless. 26:37 that's called "vincible and invincible ignorance", and the surgeon example is perfect. one can be ignorant and that ignorance can be invincible, meaning that it can't be attacked, whereas vincible ignorance can be. basically ignorance is if you didn't know any better. invincible ignorance is if you didn't know any better and couldn't have been expected to. vincible ignorance is when you didn't know any better, but OUGHT to have known. typically people whose ignorance is vincible are morally culpable for their stupidity, like a drunk driver or, as per your example, a surgeon
I always wanted to get into commentary and be part of the ACC but something always held me back from trying, even starting. I realize now it’s because I’m not completely insane.
All the drama made me glad I didn't get into art cliques because this is just so stupid. This isn't about ART but people who are fighting to be internet famous because they couldn't be popular when they were still in school and are still hungry for that imaginary "most popular in school" feeling. If you care about art, you understand that all this gossip and banter is pointless bullshit and.... I don't know, mang. I just want to draw my stuff and chill, not be in a 'connunity' that is hungry to cancel people for the dumbest of reasons yet still are thirsty and horny driven that there are sex pest rampant but everyone acts shocked when they're outted. It's just Tumblr and if you still think like a Tumblr blogger in your thirties, please just board yourself in your home, apartment, whatever and leave other people alone. No one wants this drama nor do they need it.

Ahh, so that's why they call it the Art CC now... (honestly it took me until this video to get why the SSC had their "community name" changed). But really, as an outsider who used to watch their videos, the whole backstabbing thing kept bothering me, like at times it felt like it was trying to bring in unnecessary drama.
This reminds me of an incredibly stupid idea i once had about trolling the acc . Basically, the idea was that i would make a video on a fake creator talking about the awful things that "creator" did then through the magic of a voice changer and a sock account and meager art talent i would make another video on said sock account talking how much of a liar the other account was. Making sure to change my vocal mannerisms and as for art style? Well, the drama would've involved art theft and me claiming i stole my own art by using my own art as my avatar, which i didn't pay for. Clever, i know. Hey JAR, I wanna say that what you said in the 6th-9th sections feels like they not just for the Art Commentary Community, but rather the Commentary Community in general, especially with the Essay/Expose Commentary Community with people like King Of Nothing and Mrow who has done scummy things.

From what I remember the BBC drama was over BBC saying something like PC gaming was objectively better than console gaming or some petty stuff like that. Oh yea I've been around this freaking community for that long. Oh yea Nihilistic Snake, I remember his commentaries and at least one of his countdowns being hated, one of the last ones he made that I can recall didn't do him any favors when he tackled some guys video on abortion (the username in question escapes me) and he pretty much told the guy to die for the sake of humanity. . .Yea. . . And the funny thing with that second Doodletones video response (ignoring my first comment as I was mentally/emotionally damaged if not broken at the time) was in the one video in response to Mr. A and I think her name back then was MagusXLR but it's been way too long since I last spoke to her that I completely forgot what her username is, where Doodle basically said something to the effect of this guy was in the wrong, those 2 were in the wrong and even JAR was in the wrong when you can argue that and responding to nearly ever video on said situation only prolonged it way more than necessary. 18:54 If memory serves me correctly, it was DirtBikeRedden who pronounced it like that. I can attest to one of the points you were making at a little before the 28 minute mark in your video because when I started making commentaries I thought since I was friends with a lot of them at the time. I was optimistic that if I got into drama they have my back especially when it comes to support. Oh how wrong I was in early 2016 when one situation happened that you know about where I was getting fat shaming comments and comments telling me to KYS for at least weeks straight and while a few were there for me, it was largely ignored by a good number of them while it was still happening (even when me and DirtBikeRedden made a co-op commentary that was completely unrelated to that situation) and they instead rather talked about how crap a commentator Nihilistic Snake (back then Slothboy494) was, how bad Doodletones video on MasterTP10 was, and in one guys case spamming the exact same picture of The Crimson Chin over, and over, and over, *AND OVER* again for hours straight for god only knows what reason (and nobody of authority in that long since dead group trying to stop him or put him in timeout or something, in fact said group was total anarchy with how next to no structure there was). By the time most people knew just how serious it was the damage was already done. You know what's ironic, years ago I would have been more than welcoming to people that just entered the community, and when people left the community I had the mindset of there will be other people who will take their place in a generational way with me using the Lotso quote "When the kids get old, new ones come in. When they get old, new ones replace them." Plus given my connections either introduce a few from that community to actual voice actors in anime/video games or if any voice actor was looking for commissions for artwork of characters they play that they would sell at conventions recommend them as possible commissions they could do. But now since they turned a once ally into a somewhat powerful enemy if anyone *EVER* asks me for advice on joining that freaking community the #1 advice I would tell them is to stay as far away from that community as humanly possible, their online career would thank them for that in the long run.

“If there’s no Art CC, then there’s no problem”, well yeah that’s technically true it be like saying “if there’s no humans there’d be no crime”, while that’s technically true that doesn’t solve the problem. Sure you got rid of “the thing causing it” but that doesn’t mean the issue was addressed. If the issue wasn’t addressed then there’s nothing stopping it from happening again, even if the labels might be different.

I got introduced art cc from Nawnii channel since till her downfall. I think it was related to how rushed & out of touch she was in art cc dramas and something about racism. It sucks her older art cc videos didnt get archived on yt like cristali & madame videos. It just crazy how art cc evolves as I watched other art cc channels downfall as well. And here I am. This is a huge lore and the art cc itself could be turned into iceberg lore.
I wouldn’t say he did nothing wrong but his actions were very exaggerated by the ACC and of course a lot of them lied or left things out, he definitely didn’t do anything that was deserving of what the ACC gave him
i used to keep up with the DeviantArt ranters back in the days. Solar Sands was someone i watched a lot of, disagreed with but watched a lot of. and i got filled in on all the dramas back in the days. where haveing an OP or marry sue OC for fun, for your own amusement, was a cardinal sin and was warented getting death therats and doxed for. (never was okay, certainly isn't now. but boy did teens back then think it was, HO-LY-!) i never really even realise the shift in the ACC much. thanks for the history lesson Jar. i don't always agree with you on takes or politics, but i always trust you to give it how it is to the best of your ability in "dramas". and you actually admit when you're wrong and want to give facts and try stop missinformation. you and ponder are the ones i usually watch to get the actual scope on things and the actual least biased take on the situation. sorry you keep getting dragged back to the ACC. guess they find it boring without you in it, must be why they keep dragging you back in.
Man, now I feel old as Windows 7 when I heard about Yoshiwii1 and the others. I even knew about Solar Sands when he started out as reacting to "cringe" art. I was around for all of those back in Deviantart's active good days. There's so much lore on the art commentary community drama, you could make a 2nd Game of Thrones. (Also ironically why I watch this stuff. It's fun watching two-faced traitors slowly betray one another and collapse). Akumu is the best, funniest thing to come out of this. The payback is warranted. Guy's immortal.
Also, stories did come back once I didn't lead to much of anything. Except for a relationship with Foster that failed and Feghost impersonating them, and he was actually mentally wrong at that point.
This is why I hate the ACC/SCC and I ended up leaving because it's stupid drama about kids tracing or "ArT sTylE tHeFt!" Edit: Sadly, I used to believe EVERYTHING that these people said, and it led me down terrible paths.
I pretty much wanna stay away from the art commentary community for good at this point. I would either get kicked or banned. Some of my friends warned me that talking about politics or religion is not a good choice. I honestly wish I never did. I personally prefer talking about hobbies. Another reason why I don’t bother bringing em up. I already wonder who will next be canceled at this point? Many people there are just not very trusting. I’m just tired of all the back stabs.

I stopped fully following stuff happening in the Art CC a bit after the whole Kai/Omnia drama (when Kai first left TH-cam bc of JohnSwan) and the amount of sh*t that has gone down in that time is insane! From what I’ve seen I think the main thing people want in the Art CC is relevance. Not the big kind, where everyone probably recognizes you (the Markiplier’s and PewDiePie’s of the world) but in a more niche community. From where I left off it seems the people no longer on the site (that I was aware of) are Spoctor, Junkie and Peaches. Kai and Omnia are somehow still around which is honestly surprising. They’re like the last string of the whole Tobi/Creepshow/Peaches drama that’s still left (to my knowledge) and they’re both hanging on to relevance by a thread
I wanted to be a slideshow and Art commentator at one point, but I didn't want to make the mistakes other commentators made. I didn't want to cause any drama or any trouble, so this video is more like a warning to me about what I am getting into. Maybe one day, something will come out good... but maybe not.

Sorry for my bad english I'll always say it: This thing of calling everyone's out just for the sake of doing it is stupid. What makes me always disgusted is how FRIENDS even do this to other friends instead of talking things out, and it happened to me, and I won't be scared anymore to say it, that what happened to me was wrong and childish. The major of these call outs are just "Oh they are an asshole/Don't like what they say" and- thats it. I would understand a call out about someone being actually dangerous like a groomer, a pedophile interracting with kids in a nasty way, a theft even heks! but lately, even artists that I follow are so obsessed with call out posts for just...not liking a person or what they do (and what they do, I mean on drawings, or stupid ass opinions that have nothing to do with their personality). Its even hard for the person to grow. Its not nice to have strangers to attack you, especially when you did nothing wrong, and it was caused by a person that didn't even inform themselves. People feel way too intitled to just fuck someone up for the sake of having that satisfaction that they are part the good guys, when, I'm gonna be honest...it's cringy and just stupid and its a fact. I always say: There is something illegal that person did?: First call the pollice, then, with proofs, you can always warn people about that person. The person was a jerk with you?: Cut off contacts, thats it, no need to be a whiny baby The person has different opinions?: You have much more better to do than complaining about opinions. I am 10000 times happier living on the internet knowing that people will hate me no matter what, that I will see people with opinions that I find shitty and stupid, but it doesn't bother me as much as before. People live in a constant war lately, I kinda miss the times where artists were just artists. This shitty culture of definying anyone a terrible person for the stupidiest thing ever has to end. It won't stop for sure, but at least, people need to be educated to be more mature just to not give food to these commentaries. It started, people ignored it because it wasn't a big deal at first, and now it got to the point that people won't even get informed and will believe to ANYONE. And the "Don't harrass anyone" excuse won't work. When you start shit, you KNOW people will use it as an excuse to bully someone else no matter if you are right or not. In the end, we've seen the faces of people like Peachess, who tried to be this all mighty warrior, and then ended up to be a massive hypocrite and a jerk...I won't bannish her for the behaviour, being a jerk isn't a thing is worth for a call out, but I will call out on how she bullied people, and how she behaved with HER FANS without stopping them, causing cyberbullying to happend and harrassment, its just another evidence that some people are not good at their job and that, maybe, they should step back instead of opening their mouth and working on themselves. Holy Majesty/Ghostexe here just to clear up some unintentional misinformation: I never "Joined Kai/Xzae in anything, I've never worked with kai on anything, I agreed with some view points that Kai had, yes in a private conversation with Lio I mentioned that I was more swayed by several things that kai said in their videos, especially when it came to topics of race, I never to this day have had a single conversation with kai outside of comment sections/twitter threads. I say this because the wording here make's it seems like I backstabbed jar, when I never had a relationship to them prior. Also Box worked with me in 1 video regarding sonic93 and was a discord admin beyond that my content was made by me myself and I.
Thank eff I'm barely in the art community. It's like a gateway d--g to the ACC and I'm not about that. You mention that these creators keep going because of stupidity or malice. The art CC didn't turn anyone into bad people... it just brought out the worst in them because they couldn't handle their own influence.
The biggest weak point and best teller of a flawed character is how one talks about other people.
A big chunk of the art CC is focused on talking only about the bad in people, not trying to encourage positive change, building people up.
adding obvious emotional manipulation in the mix and you know who you're dealing with: a person that could crumble as soon as their flawed character is revealed.
Observing the art CC as long as I have I often quickly pick out the ones that can't handle and work with their own flaws. it's kind of an icky feeling, sensing their narcissistic tendencies. (it's often their extremely judgy nature that throws me off). Some of them are great at masking it, just letting it out behind closed doors (Like the peach and the lion did) to a degree that I could be fooled. but a lot of the darker ones... well, they don't even bother to hide.
Pattern recognition can be fun like that.

watching the community rise and fall was genuinely the experience. watched it rise when i was in middle school then it all came crumbling down when i was in senior year. wild as hell.
I simply never like how nit-picky they tend to be more times than not, and that brushed me the wrong way because obviously we're different people, and therefore, we don't operate one-to-one and yet, many of these people expect them to function like that and make as if you should've known that from the start. It sounds really pretentious because it is.
If they want to be nice and gentle, then word your criticisms as you want to be nice and gentle. But apparently, the harsh Christian parent was the only frame of reference they had and did not try to improve on that discipline growing up.
(I know that isn't the case with all of them, but they tend to talk about their personal lives enough times. It's safe to say many of them had that upbringing)
This is something that most people need to understand when slurs are used. "Words are only as effective depending on how they are used." In other words, saying F slur shouldn't instantly trigger someone if it's used to make an example in a sentence, but understandably offended when it is used to insult or belittle someone.
But apparently, this is Twitter, and the moment the word is used, it only matters it is used, not for the context why it was used in the first place.
I honestly don't know what's more absurd. The fact this was taught to everyone in elementary and middle school, or the fact, literal adults forget these lessons, because feelings matter over logic and reasoning?

Are all communities like this? There’s something about the Art Community in general where drama and vicious bullying and backstabbing is just rampant. Where people like to pretend to be morally superior but secretly are mentally and emotionally unstable while lacking integrity or empathy.

It makes me so sad to see how the art community has turned out. All the people i watched used to be such an inspiration to me when i was kid, drawing my cringy pictures while their videos played. I wanted to be part of it. Now here i am at 21 and i feel sad for my child self having to look at those who once inspired her turning out to be mostly terrible or just crappy people. Spoctor, creepshow, hopeless peaches and even more. They used to be some of my favorites. I sometimes wanna go back and watch some of the old videos, but i cant because most of the videos, again, were made by terrible people, so watching wouldn't feel the same. But also, a lot of videos have been deleted, so even if i wanted to, I couldn't. Being older now, i understand what i watched as a kid was only surface level, and a lot of creators were worse behind screen, i wish i could go back to that time of ignorant bliss just to be able to enjoy it all again with that nostalgic feeling. Id give anything to have a taste of that simple view of life again..

The Art CC imo is a concentrated sample of the perfectionism and polarization of social media in general, difference being the small size makes for (ironically) simple documentation. It's the same trope of instagram beauty standards except it's a standard of morals, politics, niche opinions, usually all of the above. And _everyone_ has a different standard. Users treat themselves like celebrities and expect others to do the same.
The Art CC is dead. The Slideshow CC is hanging on by a thread and it may take years to recover from all the drama that would affect so many people. 2024 sure is a crazy year for multiple communities.

I've followed the art commentary community for about 7 years... it feels weird that it's been so long. I usually watched just to pass time or to have some background noise while working on something so I never reaally "took in" what was being said in all the drama videos which was for the better.
But this community did really shape me and I remember for the longest time I've wanted to have my own youtube channel to post videos on just whatever I want. I am glad I didn't make one when I was younger. My comprehension skills have gotten a lot better over the years so I feel like I could start making videos in the future. (without making a fool of myself, although that might still happen lol)
Also JAR, you were always my favorite out of all those youtubers and the only one i still come back to regularly and i enjoy your videos even after all these years! You've always seemed a little more level-headed to me. XD
Heh... a good quote for all this drama is "Those who can't remember the past, are condemned to repeat it" and "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." Seriously maybe if we stop trying to have the Spocker Drama move of creating drama to delete someone and turn against those who help you, maybe none of what transpired would have happened. Life Will always teach you is that the hardest blows is the sucker punch from someone you've underestimated.
I recently watch a video about how good people become evil and there were a few factors. The greater good: "Doing what is the betterment for all." Authority: "I'm in a position of power and control." Unaccountability: "As long as I'm doing what is good then I'm doing nothing wrong." Dehumanizing: "Look how much of an awful human being they are!" And Justifying: "A wrong was done, this just makes it right!" But deeper down it's all just malice at the end. A sick need to be in right over someone they've viewed is wrong like a cathartic fix to make them feel like their important or good while trying yo justify their abhorrent actions as the right thing to do.
Maybe it's best to let this community just burn down.

Basically, the idea was that i would make a video on a fake creator talking about the awful things that "creator" did then through the magic of a voice changer and a sock account and meager art talent i would make another video on said sock account talking how much of a liar the other account was. Making sure to change my vocal mannerisms and as for art style? Well, the drama would've involved art theft and me claiming i stole my own art by using my own art as my avatar, which i didn't pay for. Clever, i know. But the whole point of it would've been how gullible drama addicted terminally online snakes are.

And the funny thing with that second Doodletones video response (ignoring my first comment as I was mentally/emotionally damaged if not broken at the time) was in the one video in response to Mr. A and I think her name back then was MagusXLR but it's been way too long since I last spoke to her that I completely forgot what her username is, where Doodle basically said something to the effect of this guy was in the wrong, those 2 were in the wrong and even JAR was in the wrong when you can argue that and responding to nearly ever video on said situation only prolonged it way more than necessary.

I can attest to one of the points you were making at a little before the 28 minute mark in your video because when I started making commentaries I thought since I was friends with a lot of them at the time. I was optimistic that if I got into drama they have my back especially when it comes to support. Oh how wrong I was in early 2016 when one situation happened that you know about where I was getting fat shaming comments and comments telling me to KYS for at least weeks straight and while a few were there for me, it was largely ignored by a good number of them while it was still happening (even when me and DirtBikeRedden made a co-op commentary that was completely unrelated to that situation) and they instead rather talked about how crap a commentator Nihilistic Snake (back then Slothboy494) was, how bad Doodletones video on MasterTP10 was, and in one guys case spamming the exact same picture of The Crimson Chin over, and over, and over, *AND OVER* again for hours straight for god only knows what reason (and nobody of authority in that long since dead group trying to stop him or put him in timeout or something, in fact said group was total anarchy with how next to no structure there was). By the time most people knew just how serious it was the damage was already done.
You know what's ironic, years ago I would have been more than welcoming to people that just entered the community, and when people left the community I had the mindset of there will be other people who will take their place in a generational way with me using the Lotso quote "When the kids get old, new ones come in. When they get old, new ones replace them." Plus given my connections either introduce a few from that community to actual voice actors in anime/video games or if any voice actor was looking for commissions for artwork of characters they play that they would sell at conventions recommend them as possible commissions they could do. But now since they turned a once ally into a somewhat powerful enemy if anyone *EVER* asks me for advice on joining that freaking community the #1 advice I would tell them is to stay as far away from that community as humanly possible, their online career would thank them for that in the long run.

I liked that a video going over the prehistoric community is covered by someone no other than JAR. I'd like it if a robot did a human's job. I am guaranteed to get the accurate information since robots don't lie.
“If there’s no Art CC, then there’s no problem”, well yeah that’s technically true it be like saying “if there’s no humans there’d be no crime”, while that’s technically true that doesn’t solve the problem. Sure you got rid of “the thing causing it” but that doesn’t mean the issue was addressed. If the issue wasn’t addressed then there’s nothing stopping it from happening again, even if the labels might be different.

I got introduced art cc from Nawnii channel since till her downfall. I think it was related to how rushed & out of touch she was in art cc dramas and something about racism. It sucks her older art cc videos didnt get archived on yt like cristali & madame videos.
It just crazy how art cc evolves as I watched other art cc channels downfall as well. And here I am. This is a huge lore and the art cc itself could be turned into iceberg lore.

i used to keep up with the DeviantArt ranters back in the days. Solar Sands was someone i watched a lot of, disagreed with but watched a lot of. and i got filled in on all the dramas back in the days. where haveing an OP or marry sue OC for fun, for your own amusement, was a cardinal sin and was warented getting death therats and doxed for. (never was okay, certainly isn't now. but boy did teens back then think it was, HO-LY-!) i never really even realise the shift in the ACC much. thanks for the history lesson Jar. i don't always agree with you on takes or politics, but i always trust you to give it how it is to the best of your ability in "dramas". and you actually admit when you're wrong and want to give facts and try stop missinformation. you and ponder are the ones i usually watch to get the actual scope on things and the actual least biased take on the situation. sorry you keep getting dragged back to the ACC. guess they find it boring without you in it, must be why they keep dragging you back in.
Man, now I feel old as Windows 7 when I heard about Yoshiwii1 and the others. I even knew about Solar Sands when he started out as reacting to "cringe" art. I was around for all of those back in Deviantart's active good days.
There's so much lore on the art commentary community drama, you could make a 2nd Game of Thrones. (Also ironically why I watch this stuff. It's fun watching two-faced traitors slowly betray one another and collapse).

All I know is that Birdie of all people is stronger than a lot of the commentators, and they probably went through more stuff then all of them.
Also, stories did come back once I didn't lead to much of anything. Except for a relationship with Foster that failed and Feghost impersonating them, and he was actually mentally wrong at that point.

I pretty much wanna stay away from the art commentary community for good at this point. I would either get kicked or banned. Some of my friends warned me that talking about politics or religion is not a good choice. I honestly wish I never did. I personally prefer talking about hobbies. Another reason why I don’t bother bringing em up. I already wonder who will next be canceled at this point? Many people there are just not very trusting. I’m just tired of all the back stabs.

I stopped fully following stuff happening in the Art CC a bit after the whole Kai/Omnia drama (when Kai first left TH-cam bc of JohnSwan) and the amount of sh*t that has gone down in that time is insane! From what I’ve seen I think the main thing people want in the Art CC is relevance. Not the big kind, where everyone probably recognizes you (the Markiplier’s and PewDiePie’s of the world) but in a more niche community.
From where I left off it seems the people no longer on the site (that I was aware of) are Spoctor, Junkie and Peaches. Kai and Omnia are somehow still around which is honestly surprising. They’re like the last string of the whole Tobi/Creepshow/Peaches drama that’s still left (to my knowledge) and they’re both hanging on to relevance by a thread
I wanted to be a slideshow and Art commentator at one point, but I didn't want to make the mistakes other commentators made. I didn't want to cause any drama or any trouble, so this video is more like a warning to me about what I am getting into. Maybe one day, something will come out good... but maybe not.

I'll always say it: This thing of calling everyone's out just for the sake of doing it is stupid.
What makes me always disgusted is how FRIENDS even do this to other friends instead of talking things out, and it happened to me, and I won't be scared anymore to say it, that what happened to me was wrong and childish. The major of these call outs are just "Oh they are an asshole/Don't like what they say" and- thats it. I would understand a call out about someone being actually dangerous like a groomer, a pedophile interracting with kids in a nasty way, a theft even heks! but lately, even artists that I follow are so obsessed with call out posts for just...not liking a person or what they do (and what they do, I mean on drawings, or stupid ass opinions that have nothing to do with their personality).
Its even hard for the person to grow. Its not nice to have strangers to attack you, especially when you did nothing wrong, and it was caused by a person that didn't even inform themselves. People feel way too intitled to just fuck someone up for the sake of having that satisfaction that they are part the good guys, when, I'm gonna be honest...it's cringy and just stupid and its a fact.
I always say:
There is something illegal that person did?: First call the pollice, then, with proofs, you can always warn people about that person.
The person was a jerk with you?: Cut off contacts, thats it, no need to be a whiny baby
The person has different opinions?: You have much more better to do than complaining about opinions. You can always talk about it, you have freedom of speech thats true, but saying stuff as "This person doesn't deserve a platform" is just being delusional, because breaking news...not everyone is the same as you and will agree with everything you say.
I am 10000 times happier living on the internet knowing that people will hate me no matter what, that I will see people with opinions that I find shitty and stupid, but it doesn't bother me as much as before. People live in a constant war lately, I kinda miss the times where artists were just artists.
This shitty culture of definying anyone a terrible person for the stupidiest thing ever has to end. It won't stop for sure, but at least, people need to be educated to be more mature just to not give food to these commentaries. It started, people ignored it because it wasn't a big deal at first, and now it got to the point that people won't even get informed and will believe to ANYONE.
And the "Don't harrass anyone" excuse won't work. When you start shit, you KNOW people will use it as an excuse to bully someone else no matter if you are right or not.
In the end, we've seen the faces of people like Peachess, who tried to be this all mighty warrior, and then ended up to be a massive hypocrite and a jerk...I won't bannish her for the behaviour, being a jerk isn't a thing is worth for a call out, but I will call out on how she bullied people, and how she behaved with HER FANS without stopping them, causing cyberbullying to happend and harrassment, its just another evidence that some people are not good at their job and that, maybe, they should step back instead of opening their mouth and working on themselves.
I hope I don't come out as harash, but god I did bullshit in my life as well, and I am happy that I grew out of them, and then you see these 20 YO just doing the same shit you did at 14YO.

Why can’t drama go back to like… mostly civil/joking debates over which character is more likely to do XYZ stupid thing if Luffy asked them, or which release of XYZ series was better, or power-scaling, or nerdy theories, etc etc
I was in a smaller subsection of the art commentary community, it was basically a mix of this community and kiwifarms and it was actual hell reincarnated. I was 12 years old and i should've not been on kiwifarmer territory. The things they would do to me where not savory at all

Holy Majesty/Ghostexe here just to clear up some unintentional misinformation: I never "Joined Kai/Xzae in anything, I've never worked with kai on anything, I agreed with some view points that Kai had, yes in a private conversation with Lio I mentioned that I was more swayed by several things that kai said in their videos, especially when it came to topics of race, I never to this day have had a single conversation with kai outside of comment sections/twitter threads. I say this because the wording here make's it seems like I backstabbed jar, when I never had a relationship to them prior. Also Box worked with me in 1 video regarding sonic93 and was a discord admin beyond that my content was made by me myself and I.
Thank eff I'm barely in the art community. It's like a gateway d--g to the ACC and I'm not about that. You mention that these creators keep going because of stupidity or malice. Don't forget to throw unhealthy fixation/obsession in there! Once slighted, they do not drop the matter till they or their opponent is twitching on the ground.

Being a legal adult now, its crazy to see how long so much of this has happened over the years. I started with watching leafy in middle school and then branched out to other youtubers, including you, jar. Kinda happy the art cc is dying now though LOL
This community is a prime example on why we just need to accept that human beings are incredibly flawed, and just forgive and forget. All of this drama that gets spread around doesn't do anything but prolong the inevitable that the poster is going to get got. So people should just stop before they start.
