Many people motivated by money have weak principles. I've learned this in previous relationships. A lot of men have witnessed that if you are not careful your woman will do anything for money. I think the same things applies to Stringer. I always saw Stringer as someone with good ideas but was too impractical and too unpricipled to make the right moves and this cost him in the end. This also explains why he tried to appeal for his life with money. Morals and values had no place in his world and that's why he made the cold decisions he did. I will say I wasn't totally against him getting D'Angelo killed with the possibility of him snitching. Stringer was right in the sense that Avon was too loyal to his family to stoop that low. Plus the way I see it, Marlo would've done the same thing. But for him to go after his woman afterwards was cold blooded lol. I'm not super religous but it's like when David left Bathsheba's husband to get killed during a battle because he wanted her for himself. His punishment was the sword never departing from his house. I'm not saying Stringer getting with D'Angelo's ex was the reason for his downfall but it shows that if a man can be that detached, he is not someone to be trusted and he will betray any and everyone. It's been a while since an upload I look forward to this series because I really find Stringer Bell interesting.

You must be a psychiatrist, a psychologist, psychotherapist or something because you are on point with you analysis. You've opened up my eyes to a lot that I've even never thought about or considered.
Rules are external; principles are internal. Facts. Looking back on my Army career, there were so many folks imposing rules left and right, but had weak ass principles. Following rules didn't win my respect... the principles, if they were there, did.
Stringer died like Wallace. but he went out just like Dee, trying to get out from under Avon, wanting out of the game, but ends up getting murdered in cold blood while getting his legacy and manhood shattered in the process. Stringer was one of the only deaths in the show with sweet sweet justice behind it.
Still. It’s not the same after that. Stringer broke mad rules and they were starting to come to the light. no matter if Omar and brother killed stringer or not, by S3 stringer was on borrowed time. Stringer wouldn’t last too much longer in the game. He knew that. Why would he wanna go back?
@@gtamenace9743 I get what u saying buh he would’ve went back if it was convenient to him nd I don’t think him nd Avon nephew was a similar situation see with all regards stringer was his own man even tho he was a snake
Stringer didn’t respect the rules he had a narrow view of profit. Everyone around him was disposable!!! He even crossed Avon ! #AMW you did it again cinematic in depth view of classic material !!!!! Your perspective is surgical in this !!!!!
It was probably stringers idea to demote d to begin with thinking he wasn't going to do anything with the pit but he ended up doing well... I also think that if something were to happen to Avon d would inherit the #1 spot and Stringer couldn't take that Also I think string snitched not just cause Avon was at war but while he was locked up "prop joe made him feel like the king" and he thought he was king
It’s a lot of dudes out there that get off on stealing other dude’s girls. Stringer must’ve had a big grudge against D due to him benefitting from nepotism. He killed D just to feed a twisted revenge fantasy he must’ve been extremely envious of his blood ties to Avon.
Yeah buddy….no. Yes did want Darnette but notice he never made a move until he was, after he was asked by Avon to go and have her visit D. Stringer def was envious of D’s ties to Avon on a family level only because that meant he would never be able to run the business his way which was all for profit. But not to digress, Stringer was business first everything else second he took D out because he knew D was weak plain simple which he was clearly justified in being that D broke the code and basically gave up the entire organization. Smashing darnette was just something that came with the territory of a stronger predator ripping the prize (pride) (pack) from the weaker prey.
@@ronnc_1 String might be very rational and business minded but he’s only human. With killing D there was a business angle and rationale at play but it was also more personal than usual for String. From the moment string started breaking rules, even ones that to an outsider seem trivial, like violating the Sunday truce.. Or seeing his viewpoints alter more and more of those of Avon and the way you see Avon lose interest, or even (def from stringers point of view) disrespects him in front of the soldiers, you knew they would face off at one point. Think Avon’s “man without a country” statement was on point too. String, without himself being 100% aware of it, tried to play each game in the wrong court. Being gangster in the suit n tie game and being suit n tie in the streets. Imagine him telling Gerard n em to hit Clay Davis instead of Slim and keeping Avon in the dark, just out of the frustration and anger he had towards clay. That would’ve been a slip up you can’t get back from and wouldn’t just obliterate te barksdale organisation, but put the entire streets on a complete federal lockdown. String had to go, snitchin on Avon was just the final nail in his coffin.
It’s all good bro we know you got real world responsibilities and your content shows a thoughtful process in interpreting the themes of a classic. So trust me we all will be patiently waiting to support your next creation 💯.
Another great video brother. I felt the same about Breaking Bad when Gus Fring was killed off. Still a great show, but there was a void when Stringer was killed off.
Stringer is like the little finger to Avon’s Robert Baratheon. Avon is the king who’s cares more about the fighting then the governing. Stringer is the schemer who hide behind the throne until his schemes lead to his downfall.
@@fideletamo4292 I disagree. If that was the case he could have worked with the co op. Instead he hired a bogey man from NY and waged a destructive war with Marlo.
@Thugnificent718 I agree. And if they were operating from a position of strength the co op would have been a bad move. But, they were weak especially after the towers fell. I think in the long term working with the co op would have allowed them to rebuild and recuperate their losses. Regaining strength and isolating Marlo would have crippled the usurper. The Greeks didn’t care who they worked with if they were reliable and disciplined like the Barksdale organization in season one. Prop joe’s time at the helm couldn’t last forever and cheese was a poor substitute. They could have positioned themselves or one of there own to be next in line. If necessary they could have taken control from the inside like Marlo did, but only once they had rebuilt strength. But Avon’s ego and reputation wouldn’t let him back down and Stringer was too reactionary.
@@ilbhaley79 disciplined? Them MFS got high and was drinking which was the opposite of disciplined, you want discipline look at the stanfield organization
Wonderful to have you back. It was worth the wait. I’d argue that Stringer taking up with the lady was more a show of dominance than of weakness. I think your argument is that courting a suboptimal woman makes him look weak to the world. And in this case also really kinky. Kink belongs behind closed doors. A leader should look like a leader. A tyrant by day, a debaucher at night.
These thorough analysis clips of yours have, in my opinion, evolved into the absolute gold standard relative to anything one might encounter on TH-cam. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone else producing content that is consistently as comprehensive, as balanced and fair, and as engaging as AMW. Plus - and I’m certain I’m not the only one who feels this way - I’d say the most essential piece of AMW, and biggest reason I’m personally drawn to it…is it’s authenticity. It couldn’t be clearer. That’s a consequence of how increasingly RARE that is these days. Especially in this current state of the world we’re all living in. Where it seems like everyone so full of thinly veiled horseshit, and where every system and institution appears to be stagnant, nearly broken - or outright corrupt. Man, I gotta tell ya….that authenticity AMW brings to the table is so refreshing. It’s an intangible, yet vital piece of ANY content that I look to regularly consume. I don’t know ya, but I’d be willing to bet that the people who do…they’d say that speaks to your character and also to an impressive work ethic. I just felt compelled to express my gratitude, sir! Sincerely, your work is very much appreciated!

Killing is one thing, but torture is literally the worst thing a sentient being can experience. This is why even during war times, torture and other crimes against humanity are not permitted. Every person who participated in the torture of Brandon committed the most heinous of acts, and this should never be glossed over.
The Barksdales had to send a message, steal from us and this is what happens to you. Torture and even just the threat of torture puts fear into people. Did anyone other than Omar rob the Barksdales? (Bubbles fishing from the rooftops doesn't count) No? Then the brutal murder worked.
Well done !! I've been binging on your vids today working out. String put Bodie & Poot on Wallace for 2 reasons. To see of they'd follow order's on something they vehemently disagree with & to have something vital hanging over them. That was the next level of the game. And they passed. To advance out there you are going to have to do some things to people you may have respected , admired, or even loved. The game is zero sum, and losing may put you behind bars forever or cost the life of a family member(blood related or not) you truly love or simply get you taken off the board.

Stringer really proves that the number 1 law in that book, 48 laws of power to be true!! #1 Never out shine the master! As a matter of fact, 48 laws of power was all through this show.
String made the two best friends kill Wallice themselves to prove they loyalty to the Organization 💯 String basically killed three birds with one stone , he got the snitch taken out but also found out that Bodie & Poot were both completely loyal to the Barksdale organization & willing to do anything he told them to do & that's why he made both of them Pit Crew Chiefs in season 2 💯 pretty genius if u ask me regardless if it was cold hearted , there's no love in the game it's every man for himself in that type of business & that's exactly what String was basically teaching them!!!!!!! Bodie & Poot would have eventually become future Barksdale Lieutenants by showing that amount of loyalty if the Organization didn't fall apart like it did 💯

God DAMN, you’ve got talent man. Seriously. Its all up from here for you. The level of understanding, your analysis, and the ability to hold somebodies interest is second to none. If you keep this up and continue to improve on your method, you’re gonna blow up in a serious way.
Facts I watched 1 video and subscribed
No doubt. It was in my recommendations after watching some other The Wire videos, and I've been bingeing since then.
I can't take an analysis of this show from anyone else seriously now, especially talk nice media.
@@joeynine😅
Stringer never wanted out of the game just to do things differently more business like and such.
@@ramoncarter8481 he literally left the game by the end of the season 3
@@gtamenace9743 cuh He snitched I guarantee if he needed more money he’d resort back to it
I also think that if something were to happen to Avon d would inherit the #1 spot and Stringer couldn't take that
Also I think string snitched not just cause Avon was at war but while he was locked up "prop joe made him feel like the king" and he thought he was king
your wisdom is insane my dude
Thanks bro 👌🏽💯
@@AMansWorldPodcast yo is this CJ from tasker I didn’t kno you was on you tube my g
He didn’t just want him out of the picture for business reasons, he wanted to be the one and only guy in Darnette’s life.
Alpo was like that.
@@redpillsuccess5975 if you listen to a lot of dudes that knew alpo they’ll say alpo was tender dick (falling in love with pussy) that’s why he was killing over women
You're wire breakdowns are like crack to me, so good! Much love from Huntsville Alabama!!
I agree w all that but Avon didn’t know string snitched. He just was ready for string to go
Yea I know I meant more like character assassination yknow? That line you can’t come back from
11.11. Awesome 👌 video.
Well spoken. Smooth.
It’s all good bro we know you got real world responsibilities and your content shows a thoughtful process in interpreting the themes of a classic. So trust me we all will be patiently waiting to support your next creation 💯.
You might need to get into Narrating with documentaries and shit my brother… You off the chain with it 💯💯
Thanks bro💯💯 David Simons got to plug me in. Lol I want to do something official for the show.
U throw the guns in the water….Splash 🤣🤣🤣
You need 2 do more….. I love the way you breaks the wire down…. Stop making us wait month for this great content
TH-cam was getting tired of me rewatching your previous videos so much bro lol
Happy to see another banger
Another great video brother. I felt the same about Breaking Bad when Gus Fring was killed off.
Still a great show, but there was a void when Stringer was killed off.
Stringer is like the little finger to Avon’s Robert Baratheon. Avon is the king who’s cares more about the fighting then the governing. Stringer is the schemer who hide behind the throne until his schemes lead to his downfall.
Avon didn't Care about the fighting, he only fought when he had no choices..
@@fideletamo4292 I disagree. If that was the case he could have worked with the co op. Instead he hired a bogey man from NY and waged a destructive war with Marlo.
@Thugnificent718 you perfectly explained it..
I love the message and the pointers u show me makes me love this show and channel even more
So good to hear your voice and breakdowns……. Jadakiss at verses comes to mind instantly!!!!!!!!! Thanks my brother
I really like your podcast it's the only one I can actually watch without getting bored after 5/10 minutes...really good job, well done..
Really appreciated the breakdown of Stringer being someone of strong rules but weak principles. I hadn’t ever thought of him like that before and its an amazing summary of his char.
Your articulate reviews keep me locked in. I'm going to watch the show over your with the notes you gave in these videos.
Personally, I don't blame Stringer for having DeAngelo taken out. He was too weak. Either your in the game or your not, no grey area. And I believe he was just hitting ole girl just to be hitting, no feelings
Facts
I don't blame him for killing Dee but he was an idiot for telling Avon just to try and win a dick swinging contest
I agree, but you gotta stand on wat you believe so he died a a good time after ratting on Avon
There's no morals in the game from the start because your selling death to your people for money so it's rigged from the start.
That’s why string died too. He played away games
I'm so happy I found this channel as a fan of the series. Bro, you're a great story teller. Definitely wishing you much success and I'm looking forward to watching your channel grow.
Yo your analysis and breakdown of this show truly shows how genius the director was and how genius you tie the story together. The show should have been nominated for a Grammy.
Emmy bro
lying to omar about brother was the lowest of stringer even though joe warned him previously about brother's capabilities.. thank you for the wonderful content as always!
I’ve watched majority of your videos brotha. Only been hip to your content for about a week 1/2… 💯 🔥
Thank god you back bro, can't wait to see some more content you really got something good going on here.
I need to see a bunk review and analysis of his overall character. Managing a high level of alcoholism while handling murders day in day out and Bunk had a way with a witness/possible culprit. I’d love to see you break down a cop, especially bunk or even Freamon, and how well he played his position and just how skilled he was as an investigator.
You given me A whole new appreciation for what was already my favorite show of all time. When you get done w the wire you should do Snowfall or the Sopranos
Your content is so real! Please do a Carcetti or Clay Davis analysis 💯🙏🏻
Love the way you break down the characters man. I start watching a week ago and was like damn this man breaking down the characters better then the so called experts
Season 1 of The Wire is hands down, the best series of any show I've seen to date. A Masterpiece.

The breakdowns are insane, best I’ve seen. Respect 👊🏽
The timing of your spot on analysis along with brilliant video editing makes you desire more at the end. kudos!
Great video man. Reaaly glad I found ya channel. Always take some wisdom from your vids. Saluuute
I gotta love hate relationship with most characters on the show I identify with so many of em at once
You got a lot of part 2s to do and I’m waiting 😂I love your channel and love these new perspectives on the wire. This was and still is one of my favs
THANK YOU! I MISSED YOU!!!! IT REALLY MEANS ALOT! ONLY GOOD CHANNEL! I'm gonna make sure l watch all the videos and up them. I wish l could give you a thumbs up everytime l watch them. Which isn't fair they don't. I show them to everybody. I haven't even watched all the series yet. You're the reason why l started watching it.
Your breakdowns of the wire are just amazing!! When I get ready to binge watch the wire again I feel like I'll have a whole new perspective.
I'm glad you finally made a video regarding Wallace, great content ✅👍🏽
your timing is impeccable my brother. I was definitely waiting for this one. Only the big homie could break him down this perfect . That Wallace/Stringer dead comparison was quite a unique perspective too u brought up very good points cant say its a reach at all. Him getting wit DeAngelo girl, i dunno fully if it was evny but i do agree it was more about DeAngelo and less about the girl . I look at it more as him just having a form of power even if the rest of his family was unaware. Especially since I believe he felt he was kinda weak or less reliable
Rules are imposed, but Principles are built. I needed to hear that bro. Once again great video and content, you always come with the bangers.
Man I love your channel, a lot of people have channels talking about the wire, but no one breaks it down like you. You got a new subscriber, keep ‘em coming
Bodie & Poot would have eventually become future Barksdale Lieutenants by showing that amount of loyalty if the Organization didn't fall apart like it did 💯
My god man that is so true... love him or hate him stringer bell was such a massive and important character....!!! Season 1 is the best for sure....

I’m so happy you’re still making this
The Wire was tht story tht peeled back a deeper layer each season. 1) cops and the streets 2) the docks and those indirectly in the game 3) the politicians and political motivations 4) the school system and the next generation 5) the newspaper 📰 and local media reporting on crime
Thanks for making these vids...I know it's just a show but in a weird way I felt like I've grown from watching these...getting in depth of the different perspectives has helped me to open my mind in my day to day life...goes to show some things just ain't a coincidence and coming across these at this time of my life with the things I been going through proves that...again appreciate the commentary keep doin what your doin ;)
