a said before... if all multiplayer gamers were like these guys i would play mmo`s. the fuel rats saved me twice when i started playing this, and the confidence boost you get knowing its not all arsehole kids and gankers was huge. if developers would somehow incorporate these guys into the creation or dlc of a game, they would see a sharp rise in players and gameplay longevity increase tenfold.
Incorporate a way to call on them in game would be really nice. And a way for the game to assist them with managing those rescues, dispatching cmdrs as well. Did you know they always send 2 commanders for every rescue as backup to the first in case the first one can’t make it or is stopped enroute?
I haven't needed to call that rats yet but it's nice to know they re there if I do need them. Remember Commanders, buy a fuel scoop and watch your fuel gauge. KGBFOAM.
Currently on my 3rd trip to BP (16 jumps away) always Been careful enough to plan my Next move.. BUT its reasuring to know they're out there ready to help! o7 Fuel Rats
The joke of this is that the "out of fuel "scenario could have been solved by the developers simply sending thargoids to migrate to any emergency broadcast and set up THEIR own stations where unnopposed and to give the thargoid station its own internal warpgate to grant a longer range hyperjump ships to their next target. Any lost sheep would automatically seed a location for a thargoid outpost. Any shipping communication would automatically become a thargoid magnet......thus increasing more intelligent targetting by everybody, but especially the NPC ships.
@@gwcstudio Well, you can put another feather in that cap; don't think anyone expected the Fuel Rats to become what it did. You should put in an appearance on IRC again some time. ;)
i once needed them to get me cause i wasn't paying attention to the trip computer and had missed my fuel star stopping point. was a little embarrassing but a pair of anaconda showed up and got my little cobra enough fuel to make the jump to a nearby star system that had a station
An excellent documentary. I've never called on The Fuel Rats myself. Once I figured out a) how fuel scooping works and b) how to filter my route for scoopable stars, I've never had any concerns about running out of fuel. I've travelled all over the Milky Way Galaxy with only a 16 ton fuel tank on board. :) But some day, when I finish my exploration projects (does it ever end???) I might join The Fuel Rats.

Fuel Rats saved my ship once. I fell asleep mining in the bubble and ran out of gas in my sleep. lol Lucky I was in a community event system. Some were already there.
Sagittarius A* achievement was my reason for playing this game. Need to play again
The Fuel Rats have saved me twice in my 2k hours, they really do rock!
Thank you for everything you do Fuel Rats!
a said before...
if all multiplayer gamers were like these guys i would play mmo`s.
the fuel rats saved me twice when i started playing this, and the confidence boost you get knowing its not all arsehole kids and gankers was huge.
if developers would somehow incorporate these guys into the creation or dlc of a game, they would see a sharp rise in players and gameplay longevity increase tenfold.
Incorporate a way to call on them in game would be really nice. And a way for the game to assist them with managing those rescues, dispatching cmdrs as well. Did you know they always send 2 commanders for every rescue as backup to the first in case the first one can’t make it or is stopped enroute?
My guy looks exactly like what I thought the fuel rats of elite dangerous would look like
I just got help from them. Respect from Texas.
I haven't needed to call that rats yet but it's nice to know they re there if I do need them. Remember Commanders, buy a fuel scoop and watch your fuel gauge. KGBFOAM.
It's videos and stories like this that makes me want to join up
Currently on my 3rd trip to BP (16 jumps away) always Been careful enough to plan my Next move..
Only recently found out about them, saved my life and my livelyhood.
The Fuel Rats are the best!
Ps - my in-game ID is Surly_Badger
😁
@@gwcstudio Well, you can put another feather in that cap; don't think anyone expected the Fuel Rats to become what it did. You should put in an appearance on IRC again some time. ;)
Never needed the Rats so far ^^
But still glad those Guys give just a bit more comfort in the infinite black.
The narrator is legit!
Oh man Lenval Brown, I'd love to have his voice as one of the COVAS options.
I'm a simple man: I see Scott Manly in a video, I upvore, I comment.
not gonna lie when I was a new commander , the fuel rats saved me trying to do a eng mission
Isn't the person narrating this video was also a voice actor for the narrator in Disco Elysium ? His voice sounds familiar
He is! It's Lenval Brown!
These people are legends.
o7 CMDRs!
Amazing mini-doc ❤️ o7, cmdrs.
im a new player who was trying to head to sol for that event thats happening, just got saved by them a few minutes ago
Greetings from Sweden and a Fuel rat rescuee
Yo since when was Lenval Brown working with PC Gamer? What a legend.
Thank you, Fuel Rats
O7
Thank you Fuel Rats O7!
The Fuel Rats are awesome, even though I hope I will never need their assistance.
The narrator gave me chills.
i once needed them to get me cause i wasn't paying attention to the trip computer and had missed my fuel star stopping point. was a little embarrassing but a pair of anaconda showed up and got my little cobra enough fuel to make the jump to a nearby star system that had a station
Absolutely heart warming
Fantastic documentary. o7, Fuel Rats.
Maaan i don't even play Elite, why tf am i this emotional? What a community!
What happened to Cmdr Deluvian? I can no longer find him. His streams where the best😢
These guys are real heros
This has to be the biggest game ever
Very cool. I should have checked this game out but never did.
I'm crying ToT
Thanks Fuel Rats o7
cause this, i lov ed
