When grocery stores started offering whole rotisserie chickens that ended Boston market. Walmart, stop and shop, krogers, Publix , etc all killed Boston.
It's basically niche foods that become very popular/many stores will eventually hit a decline, as taste changes. Froyo not too long ago experienced the same thing. Cup cake places used to be all the wild rage, now its cookie stores. Wonder how long Crumbl can ride this high of selling pricy cookies with so many locations.

100%. There are very few "chain" restaurants worth eating anymore. I don't remember the last time I went to a place like Chili's, Applebees, etc. I cook most of the time, but when I don't I almost always eat local.

I used to love Boston Market too. At some point after one of the bankruptcies, the HQ shut down and all of the remaining stores either closed or fended on their own, which is why there’s no branding on anything and no standards.

Boston Market was my go to for awhile when I’d get some car work done. No matter where I went there was always one within walking distance. 3 piece dark with that smackin Mac and some corn plus extra cornbread. Always a solid meal. All 3 of those locations are closed now. On a side note they just put in a Raising Canes in one spot at least.
I had a nutrition class back in college and in the text book it had all the fast food ingredients, etc, and bm's creamed spinach was one of the most unhealthy things surprisingly
Once grocery stores started doing rotisserie chickens it was a wrap for BM… and now its seem like even that is goin down hill, chickens are getting smaller & more expensive by the minute
I worked at Winn Dixie 5 years ago and we sold whole hot deli rotisserie Kosher chickens all day every day for $10. Just the smell was worth the price.
Used to love their meatloaf sandwich, sides, and desserts. Then they closed a bunch of locations, menu changed, and the quality went down. Last time I was so disappointed that I just won’t go back anymore.
I got Boston Market like twice a month when my kids were young (like 1996-97). They stopped preparing the sides on location. The sides were garbage after that. I started buying grocery/costco rotisserie chickens and doing my own sides (from scratch if I had time but even boxed stuffing or instant potatoes were better than Boston Market’s nasty sides).
As a kid, we rarely ate out unless it was a special occasion or we are out of town. I have vivid memory of going to Boston market and loving their baked beans and macaroni and cheese. I did not know they still exist.
That’s really sad that Boston Market has gone way downhill. I didn’t know that they were in so much trouble (financially & legally). I used to frequent Boston Markets for lunch when I was on the East coast. What a bummer. Anyways, the cookie/brownie for the win!! At least you ended on a “good” note.
A lot of location in the Chicagoland area is closed now. There is a Lake St location in Oak Park that is still decent because of the location they get steady business. But I use to be a big fan now I probably would just buy that same meal at Jewels or something or make it myself.

King you should try the Boston Market on Hackensack Ave. That one seems to always be busy. So I'm thinking that maybe the quality of the food is based on the individual franchisee? A few years ago (during Covid) we ordered our Thanksgiving meal from that Lodi store and it was horrible!!! The only reason that I ordered from the Essex St store at the time was because they closed later than the Hackensack Ave store, big regret!!! I think I'm going to try the Hackensack store sometime next week. What's crazy is I was craving meatloaf and mashed potatoes today and completely forgot about Boston Market and ended up ordering from Runway Diner......For $20 bucks with a side salad, It was bussin!!!
Thx for saving me a trip over there by Lodi...I always passed by but never went inside the last couple of years when I heard they were in financial trouble. What a shame! It was very good in the past but no more apparently.

They have Boston Market on the west coast. To me, the amount of food that you got versus how much you pay wasn't worth it. Better off driving to a Walmart and pick up a rotisserie chicken and some sides for a couple of meals at a reasonable price.
Used to eat their every other day cause it was right by my house in Brooklyn. I recently saw one, and was gonna go then I check them reviews. Basically echoed your sentiment the whole video, place fell off hard as fuck. It’s sad to see too, Boston Market was hella good from what I remember.

When I lived in Florida back in 2000 (mind you I never ever went to fast food restaurants aside from like Wendy’s a couple of times as an undergrad when they used to have that bussin salad bar)… Oh the dude I was dating back in 2000 you still like rotisserie chicken a lot so we went to Boston market a couple times he never took into account. The fact that I was vegetarian and just went or he wanted to go but anyway that was the first time I tried their cream spinach. I had cream spinach a few times as a kid like the box kind or the frozen kind. I really liked cream spinach, but I realized that I can make it better. my mom used to get their rotisserie chicken back then almost every week, but then a local grocery store that was literally across the street offered better chicken for a cheaper price. Now in 2024 there is no boston market in michigan anymore.

I agree! Not saying they have not declined because it could be the restaurant itself. But yes I agree especially on restaurant chains. The only places I can say for some odd reason still tastes good or has gotten even better is Chili’s and Applebee’s
Used to go to a Boston Market years ago, pre-2020, and while the turkey dinners I got were great, it never seemed very busy. (First time I ate at one, was on Thanksgiving while traveling. They were one of the few places open, and at the time the turkey dinner was a special menu item for Thanksgiving. Later on it got added to the regular menu at the local Boston Market.) I'd heard of the brand first via the Boston Market frozen meals, which are actually done by a different company that licenses the name. (And which I still buy regularly.) I did not like the Mac and Cheese at Boston Market when I tried it years ago though, which was a big surprise as I'd never had a Mac and Cheese I didn't like before. Double mashed potatoes and turkey gravy on everything. Was better then some homemade turkey dinners I'd had. The old food is probably both a symptom of their problems and is making them worse. Old food because not many people go there, and those that do may not come back because the food doesn't taste so good. Sad to see it happening.
Found this channel not that long ago and I’m loving it. Would love to see you hit up a Cracker Barrel and grab a few entrées if you have one near you. They’re another one that I used to love growing up but feel like they might have fallen off a bit. But would love to see you try it out and give your opinion as well.
Boston market doest exist in my state anymore. The franchise owners ended up suing the company for contract violations product violations and more. It’s sad because their food used to be good and it went down hill. I miss the meatloaf I loved it so much and the sweet potato casserole. Rip Michigan Boston market they all pulled out
Mannn it’s so sad Boston Market was my special meal when my grandma would take me there on Sundays after church as a kid. All of them closed down near me. Thought I would see how it is this year but looooordyyyy no thank you 😅
It was a good place here in California, until covid hit. They exaggerated so much, they even asked us for a covid vaccination card to eat there. That was it for me. I knew they were done.
Hate to hear this.. I used to LOVE Boston Market. It was my go to whenever I wanted to feel like I was eating a “home cooked meal”/ real food vs regular fast food..
Boston Market is honestly just a rollercoaster of a chain. Some of the mains and sides are pretty solid given the price and others are complete dogwater. If they revamped their menu and focused on the mains/sides they actually make well they could launch a decent comeback.
When grocery stores started offering whole rotisserie chickens that ended Boston market. Walmart, stop and shop, krogers, Publix , etc all killed Boston.
One can also get all the sides at grocery stores as well.
Safeway has dank rotisserie chicken.and fried deli is bomb too

I agree! Not saying they have not declined because it could be the restaurant itself. But yes I agree especially on restaurant chains. The only places I can say for some odd reason still tastes good or has gotten even better is Chili’s and Applebee’s
@@Jewel99000 Right! lol I love chilis and Applebee’s
Hello king. I live in ct and work in the bx. They closed all of them. I use to love boston market 😢
An autopsy, a post Mortem is the word you’re looking for
We ate at Boston Market at least 5 times a month. It’s sad BM fell off like that.
(And which I still buy regularly.)
I did not like the Mac and Cheese at Boston Market when I tried it years ago though, which was a big surprise as I'd never had a Mac and Cheese I didn't like before.
Should tease the surprise knock out cookie towards the end in the title.
When I was younger, I only ever found Boston Market to have juicy ass turkey back then. Everything else is hell no.
Firstttt I love the vids I was watching all the unfiltered for the past week 😂❤
I used to work at Boston market when I was 16 and I’m 35 now. What I had to do to the chicken’s 🤢
Noodles and Company is another chain you should try
I'm praying for Boston market idk why cauz Ive never had it maybe once when I was 2😂
Boston market doest exist in my state anymore.
Thought I would see how it is this year but looooordyyyy no thank you 😅
That cookie looks INSANE.
What in the Fancy Feast is going on with that meatloaf?
I remember it being good back in the day. I liked the cornbread, turkey and stuff like that.
A good switch up from the never ending deep fried burger and fries places.
I used to love Boston Market but I agree with you all of those issues I haven't
Boston Market is honestly just a rollercoaster of a chain. Some of the mains and sides are pretty solid given the price and others are complete dogwater. If they revamped their menu and focused on the mains/sides they actually make well they could launch a decent comeback.
