It is now almost a quarter of a century ago when my mother was suddenly dying one day in the hospital. There was nothing more that could be done for her but to be with her. Late that evening I left the hospital after she had peacefully fallen asleep forever. I got into the car to drive home. I started the engine and turned on the radio.

That song is so old. At that time English was a work in progress.
Talking the time around 39 500 incarnations ago. Some of those words were first time used in this song invented simultaneously with it.
We have redesigned Africa. It was like three smaller continents close to each other, one island to the west with high mountains to case wind turbulence. Total surface more than half greater than the current surface of African continent. First few words I have made with one African man ideas about general way it should sound.
I have identified two other men that have worked with me on improvement of African design. Both are now in Croatia but one was African at that time.
Important thing has happened out of Africa and our planet. Some people have learned some of our languages by communicating with us trough instant video link. Seeing new Africa has made them jealous. Wanted to come here by starting to reincarnate here instead of there. At first there used to be only a few of them and some even before they have decided to move their entire population here.
Seeing one man that didn’t want to understand our point of view ever I came to the conclusion that a new language is needed for them as the alibi for non understanding. Even to make this non understanding non discernible. And it was clear that if it becomes good for singing it will have a global success.
New continents were needed for newly arrived nations and those were Americas.
First African singer at that time to sing my song has been Gigliola Cinquetti, and the song was ‘La pioggia’. The new design has secured a lot of rain in all regions of all subcontinents (there is only one subcontinent now so the word is not used in plural)and in her surname is the number 5 - cinque, because she was from a fifth island which was much smaller.
Even while still at their home planet two of those men that have planed migration of nations wanted to put us at the place where they used to be at the end of the long process which means now.
And in this song when she says that she’ll fly away it is meant they, will transfer them self back. In songs personal pronouns are used interchangeably of which audience are not aware. The option that she and we would fly away is undesirable. That part of Universe is packed with stars that will become super nova and also with those that have planets with life, and often human civilizations. I had the impression that they were from several different planets when I looked there with my inner eye, but that's because of the many completely different languages they use.
There is a lot of matter in interstellar space there and this is a probable cause that they come up with unusual languages.
To come so far back in my memories it took me a long time. If you can not relate to my words or activate your long range memories right now do not consider the task impossible.
And I have seen her exactly like that with every detail singing in that video when English didn’t comprise of more than 300 words.

I agree with Simon Crosbie that this is one of theee greatests songs ever written and performed. As a songwriter myself, the lyrics and melody are in perfect “harmony” with eachother and Ms Crawford sings it with so much “soul”. Also, the arrangement with the strings are just beautiful! I have loved Randy since I heard her in the 1970s with the Crusaders. The love has remained . Her voice is sublime, her interpretation is so moving and her performance of any song gets right under your skin.

This song was in ths charts in 1980. The year my Mum passed at aged 41. I was 11. I am now 51 and if I have had a particularly bad day I will play this song and ask my Mum to give me strength. It has never failed.
