Great to see this sort of thing. Me and the boys love the fence installs, garden jobs etc, most of the pub gather round and watch on a Wednesday & Sunday and we all love it 👍👍
Great job on the artificial grass, we specialise in artificial grass in Derry Ni, We dig out 3-4 inches of grass and soil,we do not use wood batons anymore as they rot sometimes within 5 years, we lay a 5-6 inch cement border made with sharp sand,we then lay 3inch crushed stone and compact, then 25-35mm sharp sand, then compact and level by eye a few times, then we lay geo textile woven membrane, then lay the artificial grass and pin the edges every 4inchs with 125mm nails… Our grass jobs will last upto 15years plus when properly maintained/cleaned… We also offer a yearly maintenance pack we’re we come around and wash and shampoo your grass and power brushed again
Nice install I used to offer this service before lots of people thought it was just as easy as rolling out a rug even still lost jobs offering 10 year guarantee and 15 years on the grass. Just a tip, around the edges I added half a bag of cement to 1 wheel barrow of granit mix it dry and lay it dry the. Wet the edges when grass has been installed this lowered the risk of worm casts and weeds coming through even banged a few 4inch nail rather than timber so would last many years to come I also added a small amount of kiln dried sand before brushing the grass in added weight to the grass and helped keep the piles standing with heavy foot traffic
Hello D&J. Didn't realise the process for laying artificial grass. Really enjoyed seeing it. The transformation was amazing, you would never believe that changing grass for 'grass' would make such a difference. Dave, Ant and Jordan, you all work so well together without really having to tell anyone what to do next. The sign of a great team. Well done guys. Thankyou. See you Sunday. Xxx
Did my own back lawn in pretty much the same way, although I membraned then type 1, then granno. Lovely stuff to work with, ideal as we have a doggy. Bought myself an Evolution whacker which wasn't too bad, then I have it ready for when I redo my shambolic driveway! With you on the trimming, same when I do our carpets, nervous!! Now I get to use wet/dry vac with motorised head to vacuum the leaves up and brush it at the same time. Cracking work, and loving the teamwork playing out on that front section. Ant came back with barrow, Jordan stopped whacking to help the barrow lift, then rinse repeat. Makes life so much easier!
Just found your blogs, been in the trade , machine driver, now retired (not) must say your an inspiration to the trade, the things I’ve had to rectify by the cash and dash idiots with there young kids . I could write a book. Keep up the good work..
Said it before - and will stress it again - you cannot overestimate the value of the guys and girls, you employ. And if your leadership is, as it seems - you are on a roll. I really hope, you appreciate the quality of your team!!!
Been watching for months now. Love you guys. Watching you work is my workout. I had a fence installed this summer...couldn't find cement posts/ gravel board type fencing. Guess PNW has too much lumber to make it cost effective, short term. Would also require your high level of expertise and craftsmanship. My first comment :)
Just watched the 3 part video I think #15 was the last , that back garden slabbing job with the wooden triangle in the corner, quality work . Definitely gonna watch all the old episodes now. Respect from Birmingham
Thats totally changed my opinion on artificial grass, the few areas I've seen in person are Sunday DIY jobs and look like theyve just been thrown on. Even some in pub gardens look crap, but having seen it done properly, makes it more appealing.
Beautiful job! A lot of work, but well worth it. Thanks for letting us DYI people be a part of it. Planning a fencing job and landscaping improvement next spring at my home. Your tips, knowledge and encouragement are so valuable. Keep up the great videos!
Well well boys that was a cracking midweek Wednesday special and it’s great to see the teamwork of the 3 musketeers Dave, Ant,& Jordan with poor Ant on barrow duty again along with a bit of help from Jordan to tip them on the back of the van. What a difference that artificial grass made to that garden. You can see the difference between the DIY store bought artificial grass and proper stuff which is normally 38mm long or longer and more densely packed grass than some of the other grasses. Anyway it was certainly anther great team job well done to all at D&J Projects and we greatly look forward to seeing the end of the week Sunday Special.🎉🎉
Hi Dave, Jordan and Ant First time I've seen artificial turf laid. I've seen the end product. Your process turned out much better than what I've seen. The few I've walked on the ground underneath wasn't packed and whoever installed it didn't use the wooden border to anchor the sides. They put long nails straight into the ground. Again a great job by a great crew. I bet it's easier getting the digger on and off the trailer than it was with the grabber. Praying for good health and safety for all at D&J and their familys
I was working with a landscaping company for 3 months there and they used big long nails also to hold down fake grass, I asked the boss why he didn’t use the same product I seen on a TH-cam video, which was a trim that goes under the grass like carpet grip and he ignored me, in my opinion I thought he was cutting corners but I didn’t have any experience so didn’t know any better, maybe Stevie could reply to this and educate us 🫣😜😂
That looks so lovely doing the powerbrsuh at the end makes it looks so much better . I'd love to live there especially if there's carp in that lake id be fishing out my back garden everyday
love the tips with the wood never thought thats how you staple in down also seen all the neighbor's there no pressure and that bollard great result I have a little bit in my garden to do cant wait is road stone common
Dave, your not being lazy using the digger, that's what you bought for mate, bloody sensible I say, and a cracking finish to, brilliant job, well done lads.
Another Fantastic job by d&j ! Well done dave and jordan (and ant on day 1) your right about a third man, that extra pair of hands does make a difference, what's great about these videos dave is the client and everyone watching can see what a proper and professional job you are doing, i bet there's firm's out there that cut corners and rush the job and customers won't ever know until a few months down the line, that's why having your channel is great because customers can always see the quality and pride you take in your workmanship! Great job well done lads 👍👊
Well done Dave,Jordan & Ant it really looks the business and thanks for a brilliant wednesday special video .looking forward to the Sundays video .keep up the great work team D&J👍😉
Lovely job guys! For the edging we always put a concrete haunch in then we smash in 4 inch nails to Secure grass or when putting the haunch in we push in red or brown pugs to then screw in down ! Works a treat 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@lmilne4859 depends if you can be arsed to come back to the job next day to remove all the planks etc to hold it down while glue is going off but if we are there next day we’ll prob glue it ! We sand it and power brush it so it got more weight on it anyway.
Was this your first artificial grass job on camera. I can’t remember seeing any others. Loving your channel. Relaxing to watch on the iPad in bed at the end of the day.
Love how you guys work I do all the same work as you do but up in Scotland and I’m amazed that I enjoy watching yiur videos considering I’ve spent all week doing the same thing but find myself drawn to your videos , great job guys 👌
Superb job Dave & the lads. what a difference. You guy's really are the best at all you do & give lot's of encouragement to people to give things a go themselves. What a team & what a company! 👏
Great job you guys as always. A very informative and good video as always. My wife and I now watch your videos every week religiously. Much preferred the music choices at the beginning of this video than the regular one used towards the end - but you can't please everyone all of the time lol!! Thanks for keep making the videos guys :)
Hi Dave, Jordon &Ant. Amazing team. Jordon and Ant just get on with it without having to be told. Not many guys who just get on with it these days. The prep work involved was well worth it. The artificial grass look amazing. Bet the home owners were well happy. Good jobs guys as always 👍
Good afternoon D and J ....I hope you're all well ....? Lovely change seeing sone artificial grass going down. Looks quality stuff .....looks that good someone would be tempted to cut it 🤣🤣🤣 It's amazing workmanship as per 👍🏻 I like your style ....let the grass settle, get some snap so you're in the right mind to cut it RIGHT 👍🏻 See you Sunday 🙏 Be safe , be happy , be kind G 🦉
Wow, what a great weekly Wednesday video. I've really enjoyed this one. It looks absolutely amazing. Well done guys, what a transformation. I love the way Dave explains every step. Thanks again guys, see you all on Sunday x
Another cracking Job guys ... nice low maintenance areas. I'm really glad they decided to keep some real grass though too...gotta get the worms to feed the birds 🪱🐦

I really struggle with the concept of removing a natural grass and replacing it with plastic but it does look smart. Great work.
Natural grass is a pain in the backside .artificial grass is great.
Just watched the 3 part video I think #15 was the last , that back garden slabbing job with the wooden triangle in the corner, quality work . Definitely gonna watch all the old episodes now. Respect from Birmingham
Great video guys ,never realised there was that amount of work to get it looking not too shabby.Well done Dave and team, stay safe.

Lovely job guys.
Just a quick tip, you need to brush kiln dried sand in to bed it down and stand the pile up.
Loving the channel keep it up.
Don’t you also have to pin it down
Great job the brushing at the end was great touch to a proffesional job
That looks so lovely doing the powerbrsuh at the end makes it looks so much better . I'd love to live there especially if there's carp in that lake id be fishing out my back garden everyday
