As a Kiwi, I must say that her Kiwi accent sounded more South African, but then again many people find it hard to distinguish between a Kiwi and South African accent.
Ever since his appearance on Top Gear I've been following him on whatever he's doing. This by far is the most splendid thing he could have done, I love the show and its format, and I love Paul! It's real shame they're axing the show. I think it needs a bit more exposure. I live in Florida and I absolutely love his appearances on television. Sigh, if I was rich I'd fund the show myself.
striker161 Come on its the same accent with a different pronunciation of the A sound. We sound a bit posher because we are the only freely settled state and so had no convict settlers..
Lol! What must be remembered is they were doing fairly strong Australian accents. Not all the accents are like that. Take Hugh Jackman for instance. Also Richie Benaud and actress Judy Davis.
The host did the best Australian accent i have ever heard from a non Australian..EVER. And Klaod Nell you are right. Her NZ accent was 100% south African. PS. all the poms in Australia are fucking annoying complainers. Cheers.
To each other we don't say, "how ya goin." The Aussie full expression is more, "gday mate, owyagarn." You must try to run all words in a sentence into one long word.
The easiest way to get the hang of the New Zealand accent, is the fact that when they say "pen", they sound like they are saying "pin", and instead of "six", they say "sex". I hate it when people mistake the Aussie accent with the NZ one though. It's so different, like... how can you not tell the difference between "Yerhhhh mate." (Australian), and "Yearrrrrr meat." (NZ) The Aus accent is lazier, deeper, and very different. Australians' purposely deviated away from the English accent and developed their own to basically to determine our identity as a new race, and to also say "fuck you" for dumping all the convicts here, and putting only Australian soldiers in the front firing line when we fought for England in WW1. Australians are our own people now. We welcome in everyone in our country and accept every culture. We are not a bunch of criminals. We may be a little tougher and we can have dry humour, but that's just how we are. We're rough because of the environment here, anyone would be! We have almost all of the world's most deadly snakes and spiders that come into our houses and are spread across the country. In the colder areas, our rivers are full of bull sharks, and hotter areas there are both bull sharks and crocodiles everywhere. Then in our ocean, it's not enough that we're infested with crocs, bull sharks, tiger sharks and great whites, but we have the box jelly fish (the most dangerous creature in the world), pretty much everywhere. An Asian kid died a few years ago because he was walking along the beach with sandles and accidentally flicked a bit of tentacle up onto his leg. Oh, and the blue ringed octopus, and shells that sting you and give you a heart attack within 3 minutes. What does the rest of the world expect us to be like? We changed to match our environment, that's it. We aren't criminals, or bogans, we're Australian. @ mr7norris - Fuck you mate, with a giant, hairy dick. People like you are keep racism and hate alive.
first of all its Australians that say sex instead of six.......1.2.3.4.5.sex.7.8.....and kiwis don't say yeah mate we say yerhhh bro.......also "straya" accent has a twang the worst ones sound like you have a blocked nose...its the type of sound that could cut concrete .......and then theres the "straya" question Intonation were the end of a sentence rises as if your asking a question?
Kim Rollo It just occurred to me that we probably read the words differently as well so this is probably pointless. when you write "sex", I read it how I say "sex", same with "six". To me, when a kiwi says "six" it sounds like "sex" with an "eh" sound, "uh" works as an example as well (like "sux", "fush n chups"). When i'm reading "six" it sounds like when an Australian says "Didgeridoo", take the sound from "Didg", the "i" we use in that is the "i" i'm sounding out in "six" and you're reading it as "sex" (but I'd sound it as "six"). Damn that's confusing to explain.
yeah but the English are annoying when they live in Australia ...although I like the English a lot .. people are just irritating in general liily Lilly your so silly ..and you rock baby 👏👏👏✌🙏
The same is also true for British people that venture overseas. Those teaching English in Asia are obnoxious. The Australians, Canadians, and Kiwis are usually much nicer.
I went to London once, A local thought i was from South Africa. Never mind Im from Perth, Australia. Im like.. South Africans speaks NOTHING like Aussies.. or do they?
Noelsy577 Technically yes as he doesn't have Australian citizenship due to filming Gladiator during a crucial period. However, he has stated many times how he feels more Australian as he's lived there since being a young child, owns a rugby team etc
That was no NZ accent. Every NZ accent I've heard sounds close to a 'stralian accent. I spelt Australian that way because Australians don't use the Au lol.
Her Aussie accent isn't bad, but her Kiwi accent makes her sound like a South African.
Her aussie one is spot on, but i agree her NZ one is South African.
That was the first thing I thought! Macintyre nails it, she flails. Aussie accent is pretty spot on though.
yes i have to agree about her kiwi accent sounding saffa
💯 correct
Her NZ accent is pure South African
“How ya goin’?”
“I thought the airplane?”
😂😂
As an Aussie this is hilarious 😂
As a Kiwi, I must say that her Kiwi accent sounded more South African, but then again many people find it hard to distinguish between a Kiwi and South African accent.
Hold crap they can both do flawless Australian accents. I'm amazed.
Flawless?
Autotrope Michael’s is good, Lily’s not so much..
they were both crap
Yeh nah....
Now that's why we need more comedians as hosts.
Sadly this show has Macintyre in it instead of a comedian.
geffel Burn lol, I actually think he's funny tho
I'm pretty sure that was a South African accent, not a New Zealand one...
I can’t even think clearly what a South African accent sounds like haha but I think her New Zealand accent was a good try
Michael has got one of the better Aussie accents I've heard from anybody
Nah mate....
lily has a great south african accent 😏
Michael's Australian accent is spot on
That Australian lady was like "oh no, you didn't motherfucker" at the end! >.
omg she nailed it. i would say her accent is very Werribee maybe Frankston located. Most likely one of those suburbs.
Wow, actually a good Aussie impression!! Hard to come by. (NZ impressions sounded South African though..)
love how the other australian woman at the end didn't clap
Wow Lily allen can do a great aussie accent!
No hard feelings Lily. I feel the same about Poms in Sydney. especially the two Royal Prats
Iain Mcfly Well said Iain, I'm sure people all over the country would agree!
I find the Poms ok it’s the Americans that are so damn loud and annoying..
Remember when Lily Allen had a chat show on the BBC...
Remember when people knew who Lily Allen was
Michael Stewart I mean you searched for her so...
No she nailed both. Happy Australia Day. 🇦🇺
If she was doing Aus and South Africa.
OMG !!!! .. Lily is such a star .. xx ♥🎤🏏✴
If anyone shouldn't have a chat show it's Michael McIntyre
Ever since his appearance on Top Gear I've been following him on whatever he's doing. This by far is the most splendid thing he could have done, I love the show and its format, and I love Paul!
It's real shame they're axing the show. I think it needs a bit more exposure. I live in Florida and I absolutely love his appearances on television. Sigh, if I was rich I'd fund the show myself.
He does a perfect Aussie accent
No Way
Gorgeous Lily,
Michaels accent sounds pretty good
She's got a good Aussie accent
NZ sounded sounded south african
McIntyre's Aussie accent is pretty bloody good, without him even trying
God shes so good at them
Cannot wait!
New Zealand is definitely a hard accent to pull off. It's quite vague. I'm a New Zealander and even I find it difficult to do a thick version.
Strayan accent was on point, and so was her yarpie!!
That's a South African accent bless
australian woman wasn't laughing at the end :')
That was good
Yeah ... Her New Zealand accent was actually South African :/
Dunno why Michael was presenting his passport in Perth to catch a flight to Melbourne.Which is probably why they were asking him 'how're ya going?'.
@JackBauer137 No!
holy shit mcintyre's aussie accent is perfect
I'm from South Australia
i give it a 7/10
+GamerDares wins south australians are different though. daaaaaance, caaaaaastle etc.
striker161 Come on its the same accent with a different pronunciation of the A sound.
We sound a bit posher because we are the only freely settled state and so had no convict settlers..
Except for the way she said New Zealand she sound South African when she did the second accent. Whoop
She is right about Aussies
any other australians out there..dont you think he sounds like curt coleman at 2:00
The Australian woman looked pissed
***** lol....both of those are Australian attributes
strayan
Ayanne Mohames The Australian woman looks like I do when I've just come back from the dentist - half her mouth looks numb
+RonnyDonny13 that's not Toni collette? Is there something wrong with your eyes? 😂
If it was Toni Collette, they would have introduced her to Lily.
Kiwi accent? Dont think so, was a South African for sure!
OMG she sounds like Pauline Hanson 🤣
Wow 😄😆😆
I am from New Zealand and her New Zealand accent is absolutely rubbish. We never talk like that, she knows nothing?!?!?
ye sounded south african lmao
dallashood67 I was just saying how bad it was lol
Her Aussie one is pretty good
Lol! What must be remembered is they were doing fairly strong Australian accents. Not all the accents are like that. Take Hugh Jackman for instance. Also Richie Benaud and actress Judy Davis.

She says "Hesitant".
Cal Milligan
Thank's thats it!
Glen Hong Quite annoying*
her 'New Zealand' was actually South African.
Lilly does the Aussie accent well ! great work Lilly !
Australian English comes from "cockney " English anyway .
Which she isn’t but I know what you mean lol
McIntrye and Allen both make prats of themselves. Good work.
Best kiwi accent ever....from an Aussie haha
Who's Lily Allen?
The host did the best Australian accent i have ever heard from a non Australian..EVER. And Klaod Nell you are right. Her NZ accent was 100% south African. PS. all the poms in Australia are fucking annoying complainers. Cheers.
nah mate, look up Trevor Noah. By far the best. I think this guy stole his 'by aeroplane' joke
Lmao she is so right! Alot of young Australians overseas act like assholes when they're drunk.. But that's just how we are at home so lmao!!
To each other we don't say, "how ya goin."
The Aussie full expression is more, "gday mate, owyagarn." You must try to run all words in a sentence into one long word.
Lily Looks nice here.
that how you going joke was taken from trevor noah!
Michael did it a while before this show i think, Trevor may have before that though
She went from Strayan to Yarp lol
I didn't know that New Zealand was in South Africa.
Got South African and Australian accent down pat.
2020 !
She is really good at the Aussie accent. Not so good with the kiwi though
i thought that was toni collette in the audience
Her Aussie accent sounds Kiwi, and her Kiwi accent sound South African...
whoa, she really looks ultra hot in this video, and she tops it up her sexiness with her posh English accent
Let’s have a barby ahahahah

Kim Rollo It just occurred to me that we probably read the words differently as well so this is probably pointless.

Represen' 'straya!
England sent us their convicts. Now we just send them our ass holes.
her aussie eccint sounds more like a kiwi one
sounded south african
Can say the same with all the brits and irish in St. Kilda....
A lot of English people think the NZ accent sounds South African.
We don't. It's just Lily Allen isn't very good at a New Zealand accent.
Jiang Yuyuan and that
I'VE COME ALL THIS WAY, LETS 'AVE A BARBIE!
yeah but the English are annoying when they live in Australia ...although I like the English a lot .. people are just irritating in general liily Lilly your so silly ..and you rock baby 👏👏👏✌🙏
Lily's New Zealand sounds very South African.
Great Strayan accents, but pity both their Kiwi accents sounding like a half-decent South African accent.
The same is also true for British people that venture overseas. Those teaching English in Asia are obnoxious. The Australians, Canadians, and Kiwis are usually much nicer.
HAHAH did it well poms
Australian was New Zealand and New Zealand was South African
I went to London once, A local thought i was from South Africa. Never mind Im from Perth, Australia. Im like.. South Africans speaks NOTHING like Aussies.. or do they?
not dissimilar to outsiders
Lily's NZ accent sounded more South African
Australian was New Zealand and New Zealand was South African
This is so sad
His Aussie was pretty alright tho
She sort of looks like Emma Stone with this hair and makeup
Best fake aussie accent I heard in a long time
that wasn't a new zealand accent that was like a south african accent
Definitely south African
2:38
They sound like Shazza and Dazza
He sounds like Russell Crowe, he got his Aussie accent from Russell, haha
Russell Crowe is from New Zealand?
Noelsy577 Technically yes as he doesn't have Australian citizenship due to filming Gladiator during a crucial period. However, he has stated many times how he feels more Australian as he's lived there since being a young child, owns a rugby team etc
