EVERYONE IS LEAVING ZWIFT - REALLY ??

- If you are a user of the indoor cycling platform Zwift, you'll know already of the rather big price increase. The internet is awash with angry announcements that everyone is abandoning Zwift for other platforms but is that really the case?
I take a look at why that is probably not going to happen in spite of the huge annoyance that probably most Zwift users feel at the moment.
How much will this hurt Zwift long term..... if at all ?

I am riding FulGaz more and more lately. It can be a bit glitchy, but as a solo rider, the scenery and chance to ride all over the world is great. It also feels more real, I find myself moving on the bike in corners or going through dips like I would outdoors.
I also like that it has some longer flat rides for recovery days. I swear if I ride Tempus Fugit one more time I’ll scream.
I’ve hung onto Zwift, but I am starting to question why.
I’ve dipped into Fulgaz from time to time as it has an Apple TV app, it provides a different but good experience . I mainly use Zwift for group rides with friends which I guess is why I stayed with it 👍
Vote with your cash. I binned it, 18 quid is absurd. I will have to just to go outside like the olden days. Some of the biggest online games are half that price.
As a low level racer not interested in racing bots, Zwift needs to develop content that keeps me locked in, and to prevent other platforms achieving user mass in racing fields.
Yep they really need to work harder than ever now 👍
The problem is that Zwift is no longer synonym for indoor cycling. For me, indoor cycling is worth 100+ $$ per winter month, but I don't need Zwift to push the pedals. With the main struggle of the competition being lack of user base, Zwift should have rather reduced the price to ensure maintaining the monopole. People finding an alternative are not coming back. I think. We'll see.
Upping the price step by step would not have been better, I am afraid. People would scream: "Zwift increasing the price for the 10th time in 10 years?!?"
Well it will be an interesting year in this "arena" that's for sure - like you say, well see 😁
my ELITE trainer's software isn't "interactive" but I can do any plan and then watch a show....guess how much ELITE charges? $1.50 USD/month. Yeah, a buck fifty. I'm not paying an extra $17.50 to watch myself cycle in watopia.
I still believe this is about getting users to move to annual memberships. A far more stable and predictable income stream.
You may well be right there Neil, their biggest issue is the number of users who only see it as a 4-5 month platform Nov-March 👍
I maybe in the minority, but I hope not, but Zwift (given I ride on it at least 3 times a week as part of my Training Peaks training programme) is great value even after the price increase. I get from it exactly what I want (I don’t race or take part in Group Rides other than those organised by my Cycle Club or Training Group when the weather is not conducive for a Club Ride.). I’m an annual subscription and use it year round.
I doubt that it's a minority Andrew , I know plenty who feel and do the same. Oner chap commented quite accurately that many of us spend more than the monthly increase on every outdoor ride on coffee and cake after all !!
I’m in this camp, I’m in the software business and I see this a lot where the value is not seen by the general public. It’s costly to add features, fix bugs and generally run a system in servers etc.
I’m also of the mind I’d prefer a stepped approach to a price increase.
I use Zwift 2 to 3 times a week in summer and 4 to 5 in winter so per 90 session is decent value.
You definitely get your money's worth 👍😁
Go to Rouvy !
I’ll certainly be taking a look before next winter 😁
Just moved to Rouvy with a duo annual membership, works out less than £8 per month per person and it works 100% for us
Great vid. Price increase about the same as a coffee and Mars Bar. Worth it!
Great way of looking at it, by riding indoors on zwift I save that much on every ride by not visiting a cafe !!
