  • When I went in for my Spine operation last October I was keen to get back on my bike as soon as possible and get back to full fitness.
I had no idea how difficult this would bve and my ambitious attempts just served to prove I was fooling myself
Getting fit again after a long time away from cycling is HARD and hopefully others watch this and measure their recovery in a more sensible fashion

Very true words. I am 77 and riding very happily and reasonably strongly now. But it took me seven months of carefully increased effort (starting on an indoor trainer) to get back from a hip replacement four years ago. Adding small increments and taking time to "smell the flowers" along the way is the key.

Well done you ! I’m about to start 3 days across Wales in an hour or so and intend to smell plenty of flowers 😁

No kidding. My first time riding my mountain bike after years of not riding and two knee replacements was like riding on a trail for the first time. It didn’t help that my brakes were failing. 😩

Did you have Covid during the same time span ?

No Jon, no symptoms of any kind similar to that 👍
