  • BEFORE you move to Sanford, there are some important points to take from this video. Although Sanford has some bad points, it is also a great place to live for many reasons. The cost of living is affordable, there are plenty of job opportunities and the town has a lot to offer in terms of shopping and great restaurants. Sanford borders both Wells Maine and Kennebunk Maine, is not on the coast but, does however have some great ponds and lakes that the coastal towns don't have. The towns surrounding Sanford also offer great restaurants and many of them also offer live entertainment depending on the night of the week. Whether you're looking for amazing food, fun things to do or casual places to visit, Sanford Maine has a lot to offer.
Airports: 45 minutes to Portland (PWM) and Portsmouth (PSM). 90 minutes to Boston (BOS) is best to use in the winter. NOTE: Sanford has its own airport with a very long runway if you have your own plane.

There is more snow when more inland BUT it's more of a dry snow and easier to deal with than wet snow. Also, in the winter it doesn't feel as cold due to the lack of wetness/humidity in the air.

Awesome, welcome to Sanford. Check out the YMCA and Planet Fitness if that is your thing. Also, the Sanford Rec has an awesome pickleball program. Make sure you have diner at El Mexicana and the 3rd Alarm Diner. You'll enjoy both.

I have lived in Sanford for over ten years now and there are no real negatives to Sanford. You kept mentioning the weather as a con well truth is Maine is part of New England and they say if you dont like the weather in New England stick around it will change. Snow anytime November to March, welcome to the Northeast.

I don't agree with the weather being a con.
30 years ago yes now it's hot all the time Winters don't start in November Sometimes they don't start until January or February.
Secondly we don't get hurricanes and tornadoes with the frequency they do in Florida we actually have some of the safest conditions up until all of this flooding in my 50 years of life.
You keep on making the weather a big deal in these videos you do which rehashes the same old content but I don't feel that winter's up here are what they were when I was a kid The last two years in a row we've had below normal to just barely normal snowfall 2016 we had four times as much.
