I can't believe how "small" this channel is considering the production quality. Idk if you guys maybe worked in the TV field before, or are just really talented, but the editing/voice overs etc are professional quality easily, yet still have the home made feel. I don't even watch travel stuff usually but you've got me fully engaged. Cheers.
Oh my goodness, we just saw this comment. Thank you so very much! We both did work in tv before 😅 I (Katelyn) was a news reporter/anchor and Howard was a cinematographer in LA. Haha! We are so glad that the quality shows while also not coming across as over-produced! We absolutely love being able to share the stories of the places we visit. So glad you found us! Thank you again!
As someone who's been making professional film productions, documentary productions, and advertisements my entire life, I completely agree with you. This is an amazing channel for professional editing, filming, and hosting. Congratulations to the team and I hope them more success in the future. If the owner of the channel is reading this, my only advice would be to try and market yourself to the younger gen z market by doing something more clickbait worthy and to market themselves on different platforms like tiktok, Instagram, and do something that is a little bit more short form to help sell the long form content.
As a local I want to extend my thanks to this couple for the wonderful video you just posted. Every day can't be sunny but you showed how to make the best of your time by adjusting on the fly. Our state has something for every taste [except those who like billboards and neon, sorry] and mostly still a pristine environment. We welcome all and beware you'll want to stay.
That warning at the end is very valid, Mawrth. Once we experienced Maine, it is hard to leave! Thank you as well for all the kind words. We hope you'll continue on the journey with us and would love to hear your thoughts on our upcoming Maine episodes! 👍 -Howard
Thank you for posting these videos! They gave my wife and I some great ideas for spending time in Maine for our 28th wedding anniversary (10/2024). Kennebunkport was not even on our radar until watching your video. We went there specifically for the lobster roll/sandwich at The Clam Shack. Wow! Not only was it the best lobster roll that I have ever had but it was also the best meal during our trip. Thanks again!
Another gem. What a lovely place. I'm drooling about the lobster bun....bit far to send me one isn't it? It won't get past customs- they'll eat it themselves! 😂 Loved the trams. Did I see a mention about New Zealand? Must rewind and check. Yep @15:25 Dunedin New Zealand. I must sign off. I was busy editing myself and as per usual I got sidetracked 😂 😂 😂. What a treat. Have a great week you two! 💖 🎉 🤩 🇳🇱 🙋♀️ 🇳🇿
Haha, something tells me that lobster roll would never make it to you 🤣🦞🤤🍽️ so neat that they have one from New Zealand! Such a neat museum. Best of luck on your editing process today. ❤️🙌
Thanks for this video. We are from Maine, camping in Old Orchard this week. We did the Eco Adventures Ultimate Whale Watching tour yesterday after seeing this video. It was awesome, thanks for the tip! We also had lunch at the Clam Shack after. Also awesome. Also enjoyed your Alaska series of videos last year. As it turns out, we were in Alaska at the same time you were, and went to most of the same places you did. It was fun to watch your Alaska videos after we got home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am already in love with Maine, and I haven’t visited yet! It is so amazing that you are able to get in and see the behind-the-scenes workings and stories of different places and things. Like I’ve been saying, you two are great, I’m so glad you’re healthy again and doing what you love…and you do it better than anyone! Love and continued best wishes, Virginia L.
Excellent, entertaining video. I enjoyed watching you on the Whale tours and I can't wait to try out the Lobster Roll at the Clam Shack, yum, yum. I saw you also ordered fried clams and what looked like New England Clam Chowder. I am salivating already.
Thank you so much and glad you found us, Grace! Like you mentioned, several great recommendations in one area. Clam Shack is definitely one of our favorite meals, ever. 👍 - Howard
I just visited Maine (Down East) and used some of your activities as a guide. I plan to return in 2024 and go do northern Maine. I got to meet Captain Gary on my whale watch tour and he IS as awesome as this video shows. Thank you!
Perfect timing, thank you! We are taking our grandson to Maine next month and now we will stop at the Clam Shack for a lobster roll on our way up the coast! I can’t wait for him to experience Maine!
You two do an amazing job covering your travels. Your channel should be much larger already, and it will. Every episode has us adding places to go during our travels.
Wow, thank you so much! Comments like this and the value all of you get from our adventures make it worth the hard work that goes into each episode. We are so glad you're along for the journey! 👍 -Howard
Wow, I just got back from there. Wish I had seen your video prior to my trip. Did try to go the Clam Shack, the line was really long! But we loved our time out there.
I’ve spent Summer days in Kennebunkport since I was a kid. My grandfather built a house just outside the village, by brother lives there now. Great to see you folks feature this fine town.
Barry, thanks for watching and sharing the story of your family! Kennebunkport is easily one of our favorite all-time stops, and it's an area of Maine we could see ourselves returning over and over. Hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard
Very enjoyable video! Love seeing behind the counter and all the detail that goes into making a roll! Too cool that they serve 41 and 43! Love this area, used to spend summers in the area. The trolley museum was cool too. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed this one. The process of the lobster roll really blew us away, I have a new appreciation for it. Lots more fun to share from Maine in the weeks to come! 🙌😉❤️
You’re in our awesome state of Maine! Love the whales! We’ve lived here all of our life and never heard of boon island….had to look it up….thanks for sharing
Omgosh that lobster roll looked absolutely delicious 😋 You two should have put a warning label on this video. Warning do not watch if hungry!! 🤣😂 The whale watching was spectacular. How exciting and scary at the same time. Can’t wait to see what you’ll see on your next epic journey. Stay safe and healthy. Once again welcome back you’ve been missed dearly! ❤️😘
James, thanks so much! We put a lot of work into our episodes, so it means a lot to hear you enjoyed it! Hope you'll continue on the journey with us. 👍 -Howard
Such a beautiful video!! I just kept smiling throughout. The food looked so delicious, made me wish I was there too. Loved…Loved the streetcars,so interesting, and some were Canadian!! Let’s not forget the beautiful and awesome 🐋. Thank you for this ❤️
There will be lots more 🇨🇦 in our future videos 😉 so glad you enjoyed this one! The food has been amazing in Maine! So glad you liked coming along with us through Kennebunkport! ❤️
I just went and looked at the menu from the Clam Shack. That's $30 for each lobster roll and $10 for the chowder. A $70 meal is what you are looking at there. (Not countinng drinks and whatever is in that box) Glad you loved it. I am so jealous. Just one bite of that heaven would be sooo nice!
It is high quality, and as fresh as you can get! Definitely worth it in our opinion to try fresh off the boat Maine lobster once in your life! 👍- Howard
I really enjoyed your video. I loved how in-depth you got with each of your excursions, spending time with the people who run the businesses. Looking forward to seeing your Portland, Maine video. Is it finished? I can’t find it.
Kristin, thanks so much! We love sharing the experiences AND the people behind them in our journeys. Lots of interesting stories when you go behind the scenes! Our Portland episode was released last Sunday, can't wait to hear what you think of it! th-cam.com/video/WWIdNawNGHk/w-d-xo.html
My husband and I just visited Maine and one of our stops was Kennebunkport. We ate lunch at Federal Jack's in Kennebunk. On our honeymoon we stayed at the Yachtman for a week. Ate at the Clam Shack back then but the line was too long. Love this town and the area around it.
Cynthia, thanks for sharing all those great memories! I could see us also returning over and over to Kennebunkport. Such a wonderful place, incredible food and great people. Thanks for watching and hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard
Absolutely a huge fan of your channel I am living vicariously through you I am fighting a chronic illness, ans my travel is limited right now. Your energy and information is outstanding and feeds the inner travel bug!
You need to go to winter harbor . Go to chases restraint or dB rice fisheries in bunkers harbor you get fresh seafood tell them Mike sent you. Go around the park in winter harbor it will blow you away. My family was 1 of the founding family's. Go to grindstone point! History and scenery
My gawd! I subscribed when I saw you visiting MA, my home state. When your Dodo video came up, I decided to watch AGAIN. I then realized this smart, dog-loving couple were also you! 🎉🎉🎉🐾
It was cool and rainy when I was in Maine as well! I didn’t make it to Kennebunk nor a boat tour. Seemed too cold and the dog isn’t great staying alone in the van. Next time! I did get a lobster roll. 🦞
What a great video...as always yall do the best job! We are definitely gonna check Kennebunkport out really soon. Glad you two are able to get back in the grove; you are both amazing!
I'd share with my oldest son! He loves seafood like me! We have the Cousins Lobster Truck in Vegas! I've only had it once cause its kind of expensive! So I would love my own.
I use to live in Buxton. Spent many days camping on Long lake and Sebago Lake. My friend John volunteered at the Maine narrow gauge RR. Hopefully you can check that out. Maine is such a cool state and hopefully you stop at LL Bean and Portland Headlight, probably the most famous lighthouse ever photographed. Great video 👍🏼
First, what an incredible area to live and memories to match! We have absolutely fallen in love with Maine, just not so sure about what the winters are like. 😂 Both LL Bean and the lighthouse make appearances in episodes, don't worry about that. 😉 Sorry to say we missed the Narrow Guage this trip, but will add it to the list for next time! 👍 -Howard
It’s great to see our Town on the TH-cam channel. You guys did a great job, but do you think anybody should tell him that the clam shack and the spirit of Massachusetts are really in Kennebunk not Kennebunkport. But it’s a common mistake. also I don’t know if you know right next to the spirit of Massachusetts is where they make shipyard brewing. That’s where it started at federal jacks
You're so right, absolutely incredible! If you ever get the chance to try it on smaller/faster boats, it's the way to go. Hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard
Hello you two! When you visit Maine again, please visit CAMDEN! Fall in love, and visit us at Once a Tree! A year round gift shop featuring Maine made, wooden and pottery objects of functional art!
I just had a really great dinner - that lobster has ruined my restraint lol. The trolley car museum looks fascinating. It’s obvious that the volunteers really love the cars and history behind them. Thanks so much for sharing and can’t wait to see what’s ahead. Safe travels!
Have you done a video on what you do with your dogs when hone all day? We plan to travel with our two dogs... first time traveling with our dogs. We plan to visit this area in the summer of 2023.
Gerry, that's exciting you're planning to travel with your dogs! We did make a video (almost two years ago, so it's probably due for an update) that talks about how we keep them entertained, safe, fed, and comfortable. Happy to answer any questions you might have, too! 👍 th-cam.com/video/B6s0Zn3wi1I/w-d-xo.html
Kennebunkport is my favorite quaint town in the USA. I’m definitely getting the lobster sandwich at that restaurant next time I go. Make sure you have some blueberry pie! It’s the best! ❤️
Just stumbled across your story of Scout on The Dodo channel so had to go look up your channel. I think I'm hooked. Went back a couple years and have started watching your journey. It was so touching what you did with Scout, I probably would have down the same. Good on ya! ...sub
Katelyn, i have been admiring your wide headband (beige on this video) for a while now. I notice you like wearing them and i really like d look on you. I have searched a similar one and ordered it online, but it wasnt d same as what u wear. So could u please share where u ordered yours? I would appreciate if you can post a link in your response. Thank u
This is the first episode of a four part series! We'll have episodes from Portland, Damariscotta and Bar Harbor coming up! Portland comes out tomorrow. :) Thanks for watching! -Howard
YAAAY!! I can't wait. I Love Bar Harbor, Its such a Beautiful place. BH has alot of nice Hiking spots, boating and Nice entertainment as well. Also, there is a museum there called "The Abbe Museum", Native American art. I'd love for you all to visit that place ❤❤
Hey you guys when will you get your own travel show like with Discovery? We love you and hope good things come your way! We are always excited for more! Shelley xx P.S. Donald agrees! And how do you do it? This View is like living in a Barbie world! Help us Lord!😳 Ordering the Fox shocks asap! Driving from Iowa to S. Ca. was like being on a ship at sea!🤢
Greg, do you remember from where? There are lots to try in Maine. Maybe we'll make a series of just eating lobster rolls across the state! Glad you're along for the journey. 👍 -Howard
Wow what a beautiful area , I'm not a seafood person I would like to remove the lobster keep all the same condiments but stick a giant Angus Patty in there with a thick slice of sharp cheddar , Great job guys as usual thank you take care
Haha also sounds great! During our second week in Maine, I was definitely ready for a burger as much as I love lobster. 🤣🦞🍔 You know I love a good burger! 🤤
You’re in Kennebunkport. Not really Maine yet. Which is why your featured ‘lobster roll’ is a Connecticut style sandwich. Bun is wrong. Butter is wrong and the lemon is an insult. I’m just saying do your homework and know what you’re talking about before publicizing false information. Drive another 3 hours NE and we’ll take good care of you, dear.
You'll have to argue with many, many others regarding the Clam Shack's lobster roll, including Food & Wine. www.foodandwine.com/travel/americas-best-lobster-rolls Thanks for watching. - Howard
Food &Wine is not an authority on Maine. Their tasters rate on a different set of criteria. I’m talking about authenticity. I don’t care if the entire population of Russia thinks Clam Shack is great; still doesn’t make it a Maine lobster roll. It’s a Connecticut lobster sandwich.
I didn't say they were the authority on Maine, that was in reply to your "publicizing false information" in your otherwise demeaning comment. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and you have certainly shared yours, though I wish in a more civil way. Appreciate your perspective and please feel free to contribute recommendations for the hundreds of thousands who watch our episodes looking for inspiration on their own travel. - Howard
The clam shack does not have the best lobster roll. Not at all. Anything you get there is a rip off and you're better off spending your money at an actual lobster wharf to get your money's worth.

🤣 haha so sorry! 🦞 The trolley museum is such a gem! So glad you enjoyed this one..much more fun from Maine to come! ❤️
Breathtaking shots!
Thanks so much! A lot of luck is involved, too. 😂👍 -Howard

HI Kids. Loved Maine, visited friends who lived on the coast, Wells.
Kennebunkport is my favorite quaint town in the USA. I’m definitely getting the lobster sandwich at that restaurant next time I go. Make sure you have some blueberry pie! It’s the best! ❤️
Kim, you HAVE to try the Clam Shacks lobster roll. Incredible. Can't wait to hear what you think of the rest of our Maine episodes! 👍 -Howard

Just stumbled across your story of Scout on The Dodo channel so had to go look up your channel. I think I'm hooked. Went back a couple years and have started watching your journey. It was so touching what you did with Scout, I probably would have down the same. Good on ya! ...sub

Some argue that Red’s Eats has the best lobster roll. 😀
Haha we know everyone has a favorite!! 😅🦞
great video
You are barely in Maine. You have to go Down East and Bar Harbor or maybe Jackman (upstate Maine) for the Full Maine experience.
Wow! Lobster Rolls!🦞
Wow is right, Donald! We have eaten at another level this trip. No regrets! 👍 -Howard
My first lobster roll was in Bar Harbor.
Greg, do you remember from where? There are lots to try in Maine. Maybe we'll make a series of just eating lobster rolls across the state! Glad you're along for the journey. 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads : I only remember it was at A restaurant in Bar Harbor. Don't remember which one though.
1:18 I saw my cousin’s house
Great video.
Thanks, Vickie! 👍 -Howard
❤
I always feel too sorry for the lobster to eat one.
Oh gosh, I know..it is a little sad for sure 😅
Wow what a beautiful area ,
I'm not a seafood person I would like to remove the lobster keep all the same condiments but stick a giant Angus Patty in there with a thick slice of sharp cheddar , Great job guys as usual thank you take care
Haha also sounds great! During our second week in Maine, I was definitely ready for a burger as much as I love lobster. 🤣🦞🍔 You know I love a good burger! 🤤
Nova Scotia has the best lobster roll!
Not getting into that debate, lol. Particularly because we love exploring NS as well!
wow tuff life,,,,,,,,tourist trap.....too many people
You’re in Kennebunkport.
You'll have to argue with many, many others regarding the Clam Shack's lobster roll, including Food & Wine. www.foodandwine.com/travel/americas-best-lobster-rolls
Thanks for watching.
- Howard
Isn’t the lobster roll 40 bucks NO THANKS
$29.95
Kennebunkport isn't even Maine any more. They can keep their overpriced everything.
The clam shack does not have the best lobster roll. Not at all. Anything you get there is a rip off and you're better off spending your money at an actual lobster wharf to get your money's worth.
Oh my word. You guys just did everything we would have chosen to do too! 🦞Maine is so awesome. Can’t wait for the next video!
That's why we get along so well 😆💕And yes it is! Maine has exceeded all our expectations!
