Like seeing you using more ulnar deviation in your golf swing…more consistency You got to love hybrids…get you a 5 to go with your others I carry the 3-6 hybrids…it’s a good combo for me 👍 GTD
Nice video, but I’d check your setup. You were getting 1.63 smash factor on your mini driver. It’s either reading your club head spreed or ball speed wrong. (It’s probably CHS because you should probably get closer to 100 mph CHS based on your other clubs.)
If you know your carry numbers you're ahead of most golfers. Knowing those numbers is vital to playing your best. Most amatuers "think" they hit the ball farther when they actually don't. this is why finding out how far each club in yiur bag carries is vital for club selection. Whether you hit a 6, 7, 8, or 9; and other players hit something different is irrelevant to your game. Play your game with the carry yardage you know is best. Leave ego in your vehicle. Cheers.
Nice spread of distances and now that your bag is settled, you're in good shape for the season. Have you ever seen the guy in this video: "Fastest Way To Create a Powerful Effortless Golf Swing!"? The club is probably jacked somewhat but this is the easiest 200 yd., 155 ballspeed (7-iron) !!? that I've ever seen. That's 5-10 faster than Edblad's 7-iron and in Champ territory. His simple swing makes it easy to see how much power can really easily be generated by the right preparation to release the trail arm and create flash speed with the release of the trail hand. His hips aren't even that open at impact so the amount that he is leveraging his hands, forearms, and club is quite amazing. He has wide flattish turn back with good hand action and a very quiet start down with the hips as the club slots with the lead forearm staying very flat as he stands up the club with his trail arm tucked, so balancing flat and steep really well. Then in the hitting area he just unloads that trail arm and hand right on plane as the club explodes through impact. He doesn't even seem to have extreme TWE but of course he has some. This is really demonstrative that if one gets the right mixture of shallowing and holding angles to complement one's backswing motions, one can have the right kind of space in the downswing and sequencing to reap incredible power as the club is released accordingly. Also did you see Clement's 320 carry with his driver. Really impressive!, but it's so obvious that he has a body release as the club releases so hard around him that his followthrough is super abbreviated. However one does it though, 320 carry for a fairly average-sized guy in his mid fifties is pretty impressive. Cheers.
Who is the guy in the video you mentioned? I'll check that out. Have you seen Scottys Golf Grip yet? Check that one out. I'm very intrigued by that one. Gotta dive in and study that one.
@@GolfTestDummy The guy is a young-ish Korean golf instructor named Kevin Hwang Jr.. As far as Scotty's golf grip goes, does this refer to Scheffler? Because I'm out of the loop on what you are referring to. Cheers.
@@GolfTestDummyYeah, amazing synchronicity in our two sides of the discussion here because, first impression, what Scotty's grip does from what I can see is allow someone with average golfer tendencies (OTT, early extension, getting the hands too high, etc.) to release the trail hand basically like a tour pro and get all of that on plane leverage and hand speed. As I just said to my wife, golf is endlessly fascinating and nuanced. Cheers.
@@GolfTestDummy One last thing...your comments and results regarding the mini driver has convinced me to give it a try. If I can get a bit more accuracy and distance with a shorter driver, I'm all in.
I once hit an 8i 178yds so anytime I have a 170-180 shot I hit 8i. Needless to say I spend tons of time in the bunkers short of the hole. --Rick Shiels
I always enjoy your content. However in my totally non professional, unqualified, never afraid to give my opinion ; the hat is way cooler than the towel. I agree dump the 5 iron.
I have a really bad tendency to swing too hard. But, my distances are about 10 yards shorter, per club than yours. Besides my driver, thste like 275 total.

It never ends, haha. Constant reshuffling and adjusting to keep it on the tracks.

I never pay attention to the smash on this sim. It's not reliable. I look at ball speed and to hell with CHS.

Absolutely agree. It's such a small thing, but it needs to be known, and known REALISTICALLY.

New channel, Scotty Robertson. He's been at it for years apparently. It just showed up in my feed.

The old phrase "nothing new in golf" springs to mind, but honestly, if that's been done before, it must have been buried in obscurity.
Another excellent episode. Well done!
Grateful for the constant support. Thanks a bunch.
Good video! The only challenge I see would be your gapping between the 8 iron and 7 iron...about 20 yards.
Yeah, normally, it's not so pronounced, but then again, my stock yaradages this month might have changed by next month, haha.

Is it just the head of the driver...or is it the length that is shorter/smaller?
Haha, it's BOTH. 306cc head (I believe), and the shaft in mine is 44.5".

Haha, yeah, better to go with averages, right? 😆

Haha, so much for my taste! I love alot of what they make, so I'll take that.
Why did you drop the Srixon irons?
They were good feeling irons, but I just felt like I could do better on forgiveness.
Try the TM BRNR mini its great.
Yeah, that would be an upgrade I'm sure. Maybe @taylormadegolf could send me a freebie? Haha.
Hope your wife is doing better after the clot issue. Been in my prayers...
She's hanging in and doing her best. One foot in front of the other. Thanks for the prayers.

I'm trying to work my way up with driver a bit. I know there's more in the tank.
Not complaining but the video appears to be darker? I have my brightness fully on...
I'm starting to wonder if my lights are getting up there in age. I have some changes coming in the next few weeks, so hopefully that helps.
That hat you received so golfer.
Let's freaking go 🏌️
