I ❤your channel! You aren’t afraid of color or fabrics. You are very talented. I don’t think anyone should have a comfort zone, it becomes boring to me. It’s Art, be free to be creative.
I love this book, the old German font it is so beautiful. Every time I encounter one, I am getting so excited for using the pages for efemera. I currently am in a break , I have not started to work in a new journal after the Dephemerember adventure, but I am creating so many efemera pieces inspired by different junk journals content creators. I have a box half full with tags, pockets , belly bands, etc. I think I will try a soft cover journal next. I also have found a beautiful book that I would like to transform into an altered book. I love your videos very much. ❤
How beautiful! Such an interesting way to bind the pages. I can’t wait to see where you take the journal. The cover is just stunning! Of course!! Hugs 🤗❤️
What a beautiful embossed cover! And a similar effect can be achieved just by embossing some cardstock painted to look like a vintage book cover & adding it to the chipboard/thick cardstock. And a very cool journal too. Must have been a bit nerve wracking just randomly adding pages like that instead of being able to measure them (it’s a hard life being a perfectionist). Actually, I know someone else mentioned that this would be a good series - creating the look of something without all the pre-fabricated materials, stamps, stencils etc. This cover would be a great example of that.
I like the idea of smaller journals. I tend to try to make 50 pages and get discouraged because I'm overwhelmed. I like the idea of "one page at a time and smaller journals. I've never sewed each page (signature) in a journal. That's another idea for when I get home! TFS.❤❤❤
What an amazing book. You are so very talented. Your supplies are so unique and beautiful. I will try this concept down the road. Thank you. Louisa is amazingly talented as well.
Such an interesting way to make a journal. My favorite kind of journal to make is definitely a soft cover, but with the spine being soft, it kinda gives you both in one journal. I’ll be trying this out. Thank you Barbara for the inspiration. ❤😊
Barbara, you can get an embossing pen and/or pry the dabber top from the bottle, then you can splatter with your brush or use a stylus to add the embossing glue very precisely! Love how this journal came together, a really fun start to modern/grunge!💕🇨🇦
Your book is so beautiful. What a fun cover. When I saw the spot on the back cover, my mind went to the place of wondering what happened to it. I can see the original owner laying the book on a table that had something on it. Something that stained it. I’m sure she (yep my mind sees a woman) was devastated because she loved this book. So I don’t see that as a blemish. I see the love that this book has had in the past. Your storytelling is rubbing off on me. Lol. Can’t wait to see where this Journal goes. ♥️♥️♥️
I hear your sweet voice, even the "OH noooo", in my head as I'm crafting. 😅 Yesterday was a perfect OH NO moment. I spoiled half a bottle of Dylusions shimmery ink on and IN my DT project on Ancient Egypt. Oh, and I should mention that the ink is Vivid Turquoise!😂😂 I'm brand new to being a design team member, so I find such comfort in watching you create your DT projects. I get so much inspiration from them. Thank you!
You are such a pro at having parts already completed or cut, at fast forwarding during parts that might drag otherwise, and at seeing a result different than you imagined and accepting it without complaint. I will defintely try this is type of journal. Thank you!
Hallo Barbara, tolle Idee! Ich habe mich gleich verliebt in diese Technik und werde heute noch anfangen so etwas Ähnliches hinzubekommen. 😉 Ganz liebe Grüße Sabine 🐝
I adore this little book, and i can't wait for the next part of it's journey! Day dreaming about being in a café with an imaginary crafty friend (crafty friends are a long gone species i think😅 ), and hiding small pictures of old buildings inside of all that pockets, and journaling. ❤❤❤
Gorgeous!! ❤❤ What a fun new way of binding in signatures!! 🥰 I am still working on my Inksinger style journal inspired by you! 😉 but I will have to try this soon! Thank you for sharing!💕
Hi Barbara. I absolutely love this way of creating the signatures and the soft spine. I think I'm going to make this style journal for my sister's birthday. Thanks so much for the inspiration.❤ Swan
😅 LG 🤩
What a neat way to create a journal, thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. I too really like the videos where you make journals from start to finish. I’ve wanted to make a journal and I procrastinated for a very long time! After watching and rewatching you I finally made the cover using fabric, a paper bag and my sewing machine! I’m ridiculously happy that I finally did it and it doesn’t look too bad lol! Now I will work on getting the rest of it put together. Thank you so much for all the inspiration, I love your channel!
Such a clever journal. I haven’t seen a signature like that before. Journals was on my list of favorite videos. Why do you leave so much space between papers. Is that so you can add bulky ephemera. Love your art. ❤
I'm always amazed by your ideas, Barbara. Thank you for teaching us your craft. I joined the DC Club foe a lifetime. I only used it once because my printer will now only use pink. I cannot figure out how to fix it so no more digitalis. Blessings. Oh, did you watch Lusia's washing machine video? I thought of you laughing at the idea, we're you?
I’m sorry your printer is not working properly. Maybe there is a local library or someplace you can print? I was in shock when I saw Luise’s video! I never would have thought the journal would dissolve like that! 😳
What a sweet sister in law that gives such a meaningful personal gift for your enjoyment!
Just beautiful! What a wonderful gift from your sister in law. Neat way to bind it.
This is truly interesting. I look forward to next week’s Part 2.
I ❤your channel! You aren’t afraid of color or fabrics. You are very talented. I don’t think anyone should have a comfort zone, it becomes boring to me. It’s Art, be free to be creative.
Oh Barbara ... I love the cover and colors ! I'm also a big fan of vintage and modern combos ... Can't wait to see what you do next ...
Love the cover. Interesting way of binding the signatures. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it done that way. ❤️
Looking forward to part 2
What a beautiful book! Love this concept! It's funny how a single picture can inspire and set the tone of a project so much 💕

Great cover. Loving the way you added the signatures. A soft spine seems to add more flexibility when you work in the journal.
I love this journal!!❤

Gorgeous journal! Thank you for sharing your work. I can’t wait to try this.
Love it! May be if you have a small splatters stamp so that you can use an embossing pad.
I love the way you add a soft spine! I will have to give that a try. Thank you!
I really like this way of binding papers in. Reminds me of the tab journal you did. Thanks for the inspiration! ❤

Hey Barbara, Just finished part one and am watching part 2...absolutely love everything about this!!!
Use a splatter stamp to emboss drops! There’s one that comes with the TH Entymology stamp set if you have that but they’re also in other kits
Thanks! ❤️
I love your videos ❤
Absolutely Gorgeous!
love this amazing work~!
I want to try a project like this, really like it and I like seeing the sewing on the spine, unique!!❤
I love the soft spine and i love the shabby look. (Not a big fan of grunge) It liooks fairly easy to do with a machine and its lovely! TFS🤗
Really cool what you can do with sowing, hope in the future to make JJ like that.
Beautiful💙
Amazing! Thanks so much for sharing your process. ❤
