Thank you John. It’s always SO interesting and informative to see other peoples boats, and see how things and approaches are different/similar to mine. (Mostly reassuringly similar…but I DO wear a harness and tether on deck in rough weather)
I’m currently reading your book about sailing during the lockdown. Since the book mentions TH-cam, I figured I should find a video about your boat so I could get an idea of what I’m reading about. I enjoy your pragmatic thought process. You’ve made this complicated a bit more simple for yourself.
Great one! I enjoyed the tour. I also ordered and have been taking the minerals and I let you know if I start to notice a difference. It's only been about a month. I gave you 5 stars on audible , I did enjoy the book and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Two comments: 1) safety harnesses - why on earth use a 2 meter strop? I use jackstays as follows: cockpit p and s; cockpit to mast p and s: singlemast to foredeck. Each of the jackstays have a strop permanently attached, of a length which allows me to move but short enough that there is no way I can go overboard. Also, the jackstays are loose, NOT tight. A drum-tight jackstay will put an enormous strain on its attachment points. 2) Lying on the cockpit floor is what looks like the paddle from a Windpilot. Plans to replace the Aries? I’ve used both and find the Windpilot lighter and easier to trim.
A 12 volt chest freezer is very inexpensive, these days. I'd yank out any troublesome water tanks and replace them with p.e.t. used soda bottles and have very clean water and no leaks. The batteries need an isolation switch.
Great video. I’m currently knee-deep on your audiobook. Brilliant writing and fantastic narration. I’m wondering about your hydro generator. How well does it work? Are you happy with it? Would you buy another one? I feel like these things are underutilized, especially in DDW tradewind crossings when wind generators lose efficiency.
@@oldmansailing I was watching as i might be single handed next year and getting up the mast by yourself is one of those necessary skills. So i was learning from you.
Love your book ( didn’t care for your portrayal of the no ais American) not all of us are so dim witted. Keep living the good life I wish you fair weather and following seas.
Well what a pleasant surprise. TH-cam has finally recommended a sailing channel rather than a lifestyle sailing couple!
I owned Blue Velvet, a Twister for 10 years. Now upgraded to a Rustler 36, but still miss the Twister.
I only follow solo sailors now due to that.
Tremendous John. U r a winner. Well done xx
When you out of cellphone range you get the weather you get.
Wise man words 😊
I find it also happens when in cellphone range as well. Being within cellphone range appears to make no difference on the weather at all. 🙂

Excellent Tour thanks John ,,

Tilley Hat will win over everything! Great insights, thank you. Years of experience, failures, success, in a nutshell...
Great video having read your books most interesting tour.
My cape dory 30c is similar. I need to do some changes to create more storage lockers.

A solid boat John, thanks for sharing 😎
Nice one John

Merci. auriez-vous la gentillesse de laisser un avis sur Amazon ?
I’ve got the same dingy, it’s great, easy to get on deck.
What brand ? I am looking for a small rib
Estupendo barco. Le conocí en Arucas Gran Canaria, cuando se llevó la pequeña nevera. Espero que le sea de utilidad. Saludos
Gracias. funciona bien.
Thought it was, looks very similar to
Thank you

Lovely. A shame your tripod has a cold.
Rival 32 is that same boat as The sailing brothers?
Theirs is a 34
Just watched you climb your mast in Lymington.
… and get stuck half way - forgot which way the line goes round the descender!

Sorry the Sailing brothers have a Rival 34.
Keep it simple and only purchase quality proven items. I did read a bit a while about your health approach - still curious.
Super Boat John
