I've been playing around and testing autofocus in video on the A7S while on my gimbal.

Thank you for taking the time to explain these features! I have the a7ii, and these autofocusing features don't seem to work during video. If I lock focus on the subject before pressing record, it tracks but if a new object comes in I can't get the AF to focus on the new subject. I could have sworn that before I started using BBF the video mode would automatically focus (without me needing to press the shutter or AEL button halfway) on the subject within my focus setting (center, flexible, etc.). I also know that I don't have ALL the features because I have a Sigma lens.
Could someone tell me in short: Will the video mode automatically focus on a subject within my focal point without needing to press the shutter/AEL button?
What is the best way to change focus during video without MF?

Gary first thanks for the outstanding videos, on the a6000 when you use the la sony adapter does the width of the adapter have any effect on the focal length? I know on with the crop sencor its longer. By 1.5 i think

Hi Gary, thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge! I enjoyed this video; yet a s a new owner of the A7 Mark II I must ask, what do you mean by 'christen' the selection in this video? Do you mean you hold the shutter button half down and then press from that point to take the shot? I am trying to photograph birds in-flight and struggling with this one.
Thank you very very much - Jim

2:2 that type of autofocus also available on the A7sII? Because I have it since more than one year, I never had to use the autofocus too much until now but I will have to, but it seems that I can't find how to get this tracking dots (I only found how to enable the standard face detection but without these dots).

I have a dslr but just picked up a cheap $95 a5000 body to play around with for walkaround/street and smacked on a new Sigma 30mm. This lower model does not have all the aon screen sensors which make it easier but I can set the settings so I was able to apply them. I'll check out more vids. Gonna see it I like mirrorless. Thanks again.

When shooting video I seem to now and again get a warp/wobble occur when focusing using the Continous AutoFocus + Wide area. Did you find out which focus was your most successful/most stable?
