Most excellent. I liked wearing the Draconic Tree Sentinel helmet cause of the little dragon statue on it. So when I used breath attack its like the little dude was helping me. I named him Dunkin.

Yeah Hoarah Loux was the biggest reason my dragon incantation run included Dragoncult incantations because I don't have the patients to beat my head against him until I get some a lucky breath attack to stick lol. Having the lighting strike attacks made him much more reasonable to deal with, and well Ancient Dragon's Lightning Storm just destroys Elden Beast.
@@DoomWolfOfficial he wasn't so bad in bow only tbh but anything that requires slow cast speeds, or hell even just collasal weapons can be miserable on him. He really doesn't like to let you breathe at all.

Azure staff would give you 40 v/dex to speed things up too by just equipping it. you don't need the int requirement to use it. That would bring you at effectively 70 v dex paired with radagon icon (RI gives you 30 v/dex).
I wasn't sure if it effected dragon commune incantations (or incantations in general lol), but thanks! i'll have to remember that when the DLC comes back and I am once again the ultimate dragon yandere!
@@DoomWolfOfficial It affects cast time of incantations as well 👍🏼 I’ve seen a dramatic change from using placid with and without Azur alone since someone was trying to use it for comp. The server even has a ban on pairing Azur staff with Beastial Sling for this reason.
Dragon communion spells don't get any benefit from casting speed increases. It's a neat thought, but unfortunately doesn't work for specifically those exact spells.

Dunno if using the grafted dragon invalidates the challenge run but it's a good pick for a dragon themed run, I use that and agheels flame for Malenia, punishing her Scarlet aeonia with agheels flame is extremely satisfying.

Dragon communion spells are amazing, just use endure so you can cast anything and not get staggered out of the cast, i dont even know if its still a challange with it.
ah but you see...endure is not a dragon communion spell and so I couldn't use it in this run haha, but yes, if you have something that stops the stagger or distracts the enemy, they are very strong

If i recall, to get your first heart you could have fought the dragon on the bridge. There is a specific part where it could end up in a fall animation, and 10 seconds of a fall animation for anything just insta kills it.

I dont know how it was when you made this video, but i did horah loux a week ago with dragon maw, and you can hyper armor his throw attacks, so you only take a little bit of damage of the initial throw but avoid the throwing around etc
a couple of other people mentioned this, I don't know if it is a new edition (from a change in a recent patch) orif I just didn't get good with the timing or not haha

@@lowresolutionbunnyfeng3919 In newer videos I do the thematically appropriate bosses too, for all rememberances that...just takes a lot of time, I do my best to put out a new video every two weeks and the time it would take to finish a run (especially a difficult one like consumables only for example) far exceeds the two week timer lol
I already messed up Fortissax by progressing too far, but the reason I didn't do that one, or Placidusax, was to keep it consistent with my other videos (shardbearer's only) but many people have asked why I didn't do those bosses. maybe when the DLC drops i'll round them up and finish any straggling senpai off lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial well, Fortissax IS available, just a bit out of the way because Fia has already moved to Deeproot or is in the side room in the Roundtable, the cursemark is always available even if you kill Maliketh, or you can get the Black Knife print in the black knife Catacombs for Rogier and have him decode it to get him to tell you to work for Ranni, Lanseax IS canonicaly female so she's out of the picture and Placidusax would be mainly difficult due to FP consumption and damage overall
I really liked these spells. my first run was incantations and spells only and they ended up being some of my favorite. these and the godslayer spells.
Not so much forgot as "intentionally didn't do" lol this was back when I did shardbearers only, I didn't wanna give special treatment to this video even if it would be perfect. Of course hindsight 20/20 but hey
I should have, the reason I didn't though is because all of my videos are "shardbearers only" so to keep it inline with that, I didn't. That being said a lot of people have asked me why I haven't, so when the DLC drops I might make a little visit to him! (theres also a few other dragons I forgot about, unintentionally, that need a visit haha)

my dragonknight build was kind of gross, because the adv frost/glint breaths scale with magic damage i used both FP reduction tali's, the magic damage tali and the % greater incantation damage tali while using the special flask with the unlimited fp and magic damage tears i would open with the adv frost breath till they get frost bite then switch to the advanced glintstone breath and they are dead.... melania was such a cake walk with my build, the only weapon i let myself use was the executioners blade with the shity cork screw special attack. elden beast was the only boss i had issues with same with loux lol but i let myself use NPC summons (not ashe summons) the build was also gross in pvp because they couldnt dodge the frost breath and would die in 1 hit due to my breath dealing 4k+ damage a hit
to be honest, I am not 100% sure if that would increase the cast times, I haven't played around with that staff a whole lot to know if off handing it would effect Dragon incantations (specifically), but I sure hope so haha
chain casting speed seems rather specific, it doesn't effect the first cast of a chain? that's unfortunate for spell slingers lol, anyway, thanks for the tip!
Magma breath attack is significantly faster then most of the other breaths and is still ranged. But it would be nice if dragon claw was something closer to a slow carian slicer
Technically it is still possible for a dragon incant only run without using morning star to kill greyoll since flying dragon greyll due to poor pathfinding ai can sometimes walk off the bridge to its death source: it happened in my first run when I was trying to kill it legitimately which was annoying but technically since you didnt attack it with anything other than dragon incantations you didnt break the run condition and you get a dragon heart to buy an incant
oh interesting! I was not aware of this ...uh...exploit? accidental boss kill? lol, I don't really mind having done what i did, but that is good to know :)
(Here I am a year late, but I ignored this video when I saw the title and tumb first time lol) Its also possible to pacifist agheel if you reach the samurai guy he will advise about the dragon, and then if you die to agheel he will laugh at you and leave a summon sign on the lake, the summon can solo agheel, but you need a little of luck

At least Flying dragon Greyll was spared also the normal breath attacks are why faster than the named ones because you don’t jump up in the air so you just made your life harder for Horah Lou

Back during this video I didn't do all rememberances, only shardbearers, and I def thought about placidusax because is thematic, but I didn't want to give him special attention then need to in other videos. You can actually cheese a dragon on Farum great bridge and make him kill himself for a dragon heart. So this run is possible but I would not recommend. Side note this could be patched idk
This was actually an intentional (although eventually regrettable) decision! In previous videos I only cared about shardbearers only, and those two bosses aren't them. It would have been thematic to fight them, but since they weren't shardbearers I was afraid of deviating from my previous videos. Like I said, I now regret that, and a lot of people have commented on me missing them, so maybe when the DLC drops I pay them a little visit ;) Also I actually missed 4 dragons, these two, then Adula, and Greyll (I did fight the magmawyrms, but didn't put it in the video) lol
ya know, I thought about doing him because it would fit the theme, but according to the wiki Placidusax Ruin is not a dragon communion spell. so I ended up not getting it. That being said plenty of people have asked why I haven't fought him. So maybe when I revist when the DLC comes out, papa placidusax is going to meet his maker lol

Dragon communion spells are way too strong. The cast time isn't really a problem because the breath also does poise damage, and a lot of it. Giant enemies can't avoid getting hit, and small enemies can't hit you while using it because they'll get poise broken. The only issue is that you end up avoiding too many mobs because of FP limits, so you don't level as quickly. Why are all the dragon incantations so slow? Because they're so overwhelmingly strong. They're already near the top of the spell tier list, if they were faster there wouldn't even be a debate about whether they were the best or not.
I would agree that their speed is offset by their strength, and your point about poise is right, but most of them are slow enough that bosses will hit you out of it, and if they do that well...then you've effectively done nothing to the boss haha
For Hoarah, (and maybe I missed you saying you did), but did you try a breath attack when he does the house ground explosion? As I'm pretty sure you can jump that, so the breath making you float in the air COULD make you immune to it and give you a huge opening for attacking him.
Fun Fact: in late game Magic Breath and Smarag Breath are utterly useless because Borealis Breath does magic damage

Never played prophet class but the ankle chain tells me the Fire Giant must be prophet class. Faith boost fire damage so it makes sense

The slow cast times are total pains in the ass, but I still use all the breaths to vomit various dragon elements onto stuff.
I do enjoy spewing frost breath at my enemies lol

I should have, the reason I didn't though is because all of my videos are "shardbearers only" so to keep it inline with that, I didn't. That being said a lot of people have asked me why I haven't, so when the DLC drops I might make a little visit to him! (theres also a few other dragons I forgot about, unintentionally, that need a visit haha)

my dragonknight build was kind of gross, because the adv frost/glint breaths scale with magic damage i used both FP reduction tali's, the magic damage tali and the % greater incantation damage tali while using the special flask with the unlimited fp and magic damage tears i would open with the adv frost breath till they get frost bite then switch to the advanced glintstone breath and they are dead....
melania was such a cake walk with my build, the only weapon i let myself use was the executioners blade with the shity cork screw special attack.
elden beast was the only boss i had issues with same with loux lol but i let myself use NPC summons (not ashe summons) the build was also gross in pvp because they couldnt dodge the frost breath and would die in 1 hit due to my breath dealing 4k+ damage a hit

Couldn't you use Azures Glintstonestaff in the offhand to increase casting speed a little?
to be honest, I am not 100% sure if that would increase the cast times, I haven't played around with that staff a whole lot to know if off handing it would effect Dragon incantations (specifically), but I sure hope so haha
Radagons icon only increases chain casting speed, so in this case it's kinda useless, for anyone attempting this in the future
chain casting speed seems rather specific, it doesn't effect the first cast of a chain? that's unfortunate for spell slingers lol, anyway, thanks for the tip!

Magma breath attack is significantly faster then most of the other breaths and is still ranged. But it would be nice if dragon claw was something closer to a slow carian slicer

Technically it is still possible for a dragon incant only run without using morning star to kill greyoll since flying dragon greyll due to poor pathfinding ai can sometimes walk off the bridge to its death source: it happened in my first run when I was trying to kill it legitimately which was annoying but technically since you didnt attack it with anything other than dragon incantations you didnt break the run condition and you get a dragon heart to buy an incant
oh interesting! I was not aware of this ...uh...exploit? accidental boss kill? lol, I don't really mind having done what i did, but that is good to know :)
(Here I am a year late, but I ignored this video when I saw the title and tumb first time lol) Its also possible to pacifist agheel if you reach the samurai guy he will advise about the dragon, and then if you die to agheel he will laugh at you and leave a summon sign on the lake, the summon can solo agheel, but you need a little of luck

Back during this video I didn't do all rememberances, only shardbearers, and I def thought about placidusax because is thematic, but I didn't want to give him special attention then need to in other videos. Houra loux and other grab attacks cant connect if you're in the middle of dragonmaw, i do it all the time, its actually awesome

You can actually cheese a dragon on Farum great bridge and make him kill himself for a dragon heart. So this run is possible but I would not recommend.

Placidusax? Fortissax? You missed two dragon bosses! You can even chill with Placidusax, so long as you don't get too close.
This was actually an intentional (although eventually regrettable) decision! In previous videos I only cared about shardbearers only, and those two bosses aren't them. It would have been thematic to fight them, but since they weren't shardbearers I was afraid of deviating from my previous videos. Like I said, I now regret that, and a lot of people have commented on me missing them, so maybe when the DLC drops I pay them a little visit ;)
Also I actually missed 4 dragons, these two, then Adula, and Greyll (I did fight the magmawyrms, but didn't put it in the video) lol

ya know, I thought about doing him because it would fit the theme, but according to the wiki Placidusax Ruin is not a dragon communion spell. so I ended up not getting it. That being said plenty of people have asked why I haven't fought him. So maybe when I revist when the DLC comes out, papa placidusax is going to meet his maker lol

haha well, in some of the older ones I used actual BGM, but in the newer ones I tend to just let the game be background music
Dragon communion spells are way too strong. The cast time isn't really a problem because the breath also does poise damage, and a lot of it. Giant enemies can't avoid getting hit, and small enemies can't hit you while using it because they'll get poise broken. The only issue is that you end up avoiding too many mobs because of FP limits, so you don't level as quickly.
Why are all the dragon incantations so slow? Because they're so overwhelmingly strong. They're already near the top of the spell tier list, if they were faster there wouldn't even be a debate about whether they were the best or not.
I would agree that their speed is offset by their strength, and your point about poise is right, but most of them are slow enough that bosses will hit you out of it, and if they do that well...then you've effectively done nothing to the boss haha
With morgot you could just spam rotten breath since it does like 15k dmg overtime

For Hoarah, (and maybe I missed you saying you did), but did you try a breath attack when he does the house ground explosion? As I'm pretty sure you can jump that, so the breath making you float in the air COULD make you immune to it and give you a huge opening for attacking him.
