Great video! Reminders are necessary. Blessed to have had 'one' in decades. My l leg was badly broken first night on the road; St Louis, the spaghetti bowl of road changes. I had a flashlight in my mouth while looking at the map. A truck flew right in front of us coming off a ramp. Julie hit the brakes hard and I was tossed. Left suspended holding on to both front seats; hands wear you sit, until the first policeman arrived. Ten days later, once in Surprise, AZ, symptoms brought things to a head and the ER mentioned several injuries and set-up seeing a Ortho doctor. He put my leg in a boot, both bones broke above the ankle. Due to swelling, my heel cracked-open. We couldn't get to wound care because the front calipers froze...my first, only, bedsore but back in the saddle a few weeks later. Blessed with sensation, keep moving and no issues. You can expect 'some' return, Mason, over the coming months or years but if not, you will get to know/ recognize, symptoms. Excellent! First video I've watched on the subject!
Thanks for sharing your story! Yeah, luckily I haven’t had any pressure sores. I’m glad to hear this is the first video that you’ve watched on this subject. That’s my goal.
hydr0skunk I use my manual chair and power chair the same amount of time. I prefer to use my power chair at home because of the thick carpet and my manual chair in public because it's easier to get around in tight spaces. I do often use my manual chair at home and power chair in public though due to time constraints or mishaps.
