@@TheoOJamaloO1 Technically yes, but it's not really primarily social media. It's a video-sharing platform. The comments are the social media aspect and they're a lot more anonymous and difficult to track than tweets or Facebook posts. There's a scale of how much different apps incorporate social media with Venmo at one end and Facebook and Twitter on the other. I think the OP is referring more to dedicated social media sites when they callthem a "cesspool" even though the comments section can be pretty nasty sometimes
I'm so glad I was raised and schooled before it existed. Even before the existence of cell phones and the internet period. Shit is getting really wierd for kids these days

Inaccurate title. She doesn't deletes her media account, she temporarily hides the icon of her apps on her phone. She does this before every big event so she doesn't get distracted and lose focus. Very smart in my opinion. Besides, she seems very bright and composed.

I agree. One great asset Abby has is that she is so natural, you know, no hype or fluff. Her demeanour and speech just flow effortlessly.
This was her 54th race this season. She is phenomenal. She is also extremely likeable and a great ambassador for the sport.

Good for her. Most social media these days is a cesspool. She was fantastic in the relays at end of the meet. Great young talent that will get better and better over time.
Maturity is important and she’s got it. The 200 is stacked with talent and she has a good perspective on the long year of sprinting. I think the podium is a lot to ask for here but her talent and attitude will ENSURE future podiums.
After this interview I like her even more. Happy I clicked on it.

At the 3:52 mark, so it sounds like she did not DELETE her twitter account. She just took the twitter icon off of her home screen/page and turned off the notifications feature for the duration of the races. A lot of athletes do that, no big deal.

Social media for everyone, let alone someone famous, attractive, in a competitive sport at a very high level.
She should be able to revel in her sucess, not have to defend herself.

I saw her face the flag, and put her hand on her heart during the raising of the flag and National Anthem after she won her gold medals. That alone made me a fan of hers.
To get where she is(And of course this applies to so many Athletes) It requires Tons of hard work& dedication!.And of course she possess special Talent!
..But to receive all of that flak concerning her new Contract deal,prior to the World Championships was def unfair(And who knows who was behind it!)
But she maintained her composure,&dealt with all of the pressure well..As her performances at the World Championships demonstrated!
.So it should be interesting to see how she progresses in the"Pro's"..it's going to be tougher(if she competes in the Euro Diamond League Races?)and more pressurized,but she seems like a nice girl,whose both intelligent & grounded..And I wish her all the best!.

That’s normal for college sprinters.
4 races per meets x 14 to 16 meets a year. sometimes with trials. Nothing special for college sprinters who are GOOD.
