That codename I don't think it will be a new Mario Party game, but i think it will be Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival (Wii U) rerelease with included New Horizon villagers. It's the same studio as Mario Party and this a good way to a similar party game and reignite the Animal Crossing hype.

I would love a new leaf remake, but honestly I think an original gamecube animal crossing remake would be so exciting. I think it would be interesting to see the smaller models in hd graphics and town customization be decentralized so it contrasts more with acnh. The remastered versions of the hourly music would also be lovely lol. Ofc they would have to add some quality of life ofc tho, like the museum and stuff but it would be fun!
There’s gotta be some sort of Animal Crossing game. Nintendo is just about to launch the ‘Animal Crossing Aquarium Tour’, and it lasts for almost a year. It just feels weird to make a huge tour for a game that’s got no major updates to come. I could be wrong, but it just feels odd to me. My guess for a new AC would be either AC 1 HD or New Leaf HD with more design freedom. I don’t think they’d do a ‘Happy Home 2’ type game.
I don't think they will do Sonic Adventure 2 remake solely SEGA already has Sonic x Shadow Generations slated for this holiday season. Might be a 2025 title after the Sonic 3 movie comes out though.
It's pretty insane how xbox and ps have managed to show amazing direct with so many upcoming AAA games yet Nintendo is still 15 years behind in term of tech. Hopefully this isn't a sign of them crumbling!

ACNH was my first AC game. Even if the remake/remaster of an older game was a step back in terms of what we could do in game, I would still check it out. Especially for the villagers! It sounds like in the older versions the villagers had a bit more uniqueness/charm.

Okay, slight correction- Mario Party Superstars was the N64 boards, but the mini games were from all the games, not just N64. It was Top 100 but done right, with mini games from 1-10. Also, I am in the crowd of thinking this Direct is gonna be a smaller one. I still have confidence it will be good, don’t get me wrong, but aside from the possibility of Metroid Prime 4, I don’t think they have much left in the old Switch. All their A teams are gonna be developing games for the Switch 2’s launch window, so we’re likely getting mostly ports, remasters, and remakes. And I will say, that can still lead to a big announcement, as TTYD proved. The right game can be a huge hype machine, even if it’s a remake or remaster. I’m not gonna count out the chance of a big reveal. And going back to Prime 4, I think it has every chance of showing up here. It restarted development in 2019, so it’s been five years. There is a decent chance it’s far enough along we could see SOMETHING, even just a release window. Even if it’s slated for 2025, I think it’s time. Granted, it’s Retro, and before Prime 4 in 2019, they had spent 5 years after DKC Tropical Freeze and had nothing to show for it, so their track record isn’t the best, so I’m also not thinking it’s a guaranteed reveal.
I agree there’s almost no chance of an old animal crossing remake, it would just be a totally new game at that point, because it wouldn’t be New Leaf if they baked in the new horizons features. And that’s what people would want, so they’re just focusing on making a new game 100%
But new leaf would be great on the switch because it's different than new horizons! For everyone that's burnt out on designing, like me never played before new horizons and would love to be able to check out the prequel
I expect Animal Crossing in year 2 or year 3 of new console. It’s one of their top 5/6 franchises now. It’s a perfect game to release that draws attention to the console and doesn’t need to come out first year. First year makes way more sense for new Mario 3d, new Mario Kart, new Metroid Prime, and possibly a new Mario Party since they love to pump those games out. But to me why not save Splatoon, Smash Bros, and Animal Crossing for year 2 or 3.
I hope Kirby Planet Robobot as I never bought it for the 3DS. Still hoping for F-Zero GX, Luigi's Mansion 1, And Metriod 2-3-4. There will not be an Animal Crossing game. However I'd love New Leaf with let you put items outside. That's all you need added.

I desperately wish they would bring back the GC Animal Crossing to NSO. I feel like it would be a bigger task though, as I'm guessing they would have to overhaul some of the dialog that didn't age well, and I think they would have to rework or remove the holiday games that were basically gambling. But it would be so great to have villagers back in their sassy glory, and it would give new players a chance to learn who all the old NPCs were. 🥺
Seems like theres two types of people. Those who are overhyping this direct. And those who are underselling it. My viewers have been kinda negative about what games they think are coming. But i think we're in the same head space here. I think the Direct will be good with a couple of new titles and some killer remakes. I, too, think Nintendo should take this holiday season seriously. Unfortunately I think the New Leaf remake is a complete dream. I keep hearing for many years of the hype-push for it, and I would completely be thrilled over it. I honestly think we won't see any AC game until the next, several years into the new switch lifecycle. I'm still playing ACNH daily, albeit often it is just a check in. Been playing since April release year. My interest in the game hasn't diminished because I've paced things out. I'm only just finishing my art collection and I still have bugs, fish and sea creatures to complete.

I believe we are going to get more Animal Crossing new horizons DLC content. Its way too successful of a game for Nintendo too leave behind.
