There’s this quote that I love: “Belief is the most powerful spell there is. What you give power has power.” It’s so applicable to sigils and this video and everyone needs to hear that their belief has power 👀
Ya'll, we use sigils in Christianity. (Notably Celtic folk practice which merges Christianity with ancient druidic symbology) Plenty of other traditions use meaningful symbols to manifest a certain energy, the gate-keeping attitudes blow my mind.
@@MoonlitBookworm73 yeah, i'd never consider myself a witch, i'm just a run of the mill Christian, but i still think it's very important to keep myself educated on things like witchcraft not just because there are quite a few practitioners around me in my day to day life and i think it's cool to know other people's beliefs and values, but also because it can help me develop my own faith by looking at it and seeing which bits i like and work with my faith that i never would have thought of otherwise, and also so i can see bits i like less and steer clear from. Above everything else i think it's just super important that everyone learns at least the basics of as many systems of belief as they can (especially ones they come across around them in life)

@@alyseandrews1066 oh yeah for sure i've got a mate who's as Irish Catholic as they come and he'll have triskels and all that one one bracelet and one of those catholic saint bracelets on the other, really cool to see the crossover. Personally i'm non-denominational christian but given I'm anglo-saxon and Welsh and i live in pretty much the exact same land as my anglo-saxon ancestors have for the past thousand years i also think it's super important to learn what kind of folklore they believed in and to make sure i respect all their rules and customs when i'm spending time out in nature, since whether i understand it or not there's probably a reason they were doing it for a thousand straight years
I made my first sigil a when I moved out for the first time a couple years ago. And when I started, I felt really drawn to the Air Element, so I’d do the method of blowing on the sigils and hanging them in my window to charge them. Especially during a full moon :D As an Ace person who doesn’t really feel that much connection to power drawn from Snmex magic, it’s nice to find out things on my own that work for me!

Ooh this is like…super convenient. I’ve been kinda considering delving into sigils and tryna figure out how I might wanna use them so the timing for this is fantastic.
Do you think that you’ll remake the sigils video one day? I think that there were a lot of parts of the old video that had value and parts that didn’t hold true to you now so I understand taking it down, but I also think that remaking it would provide a resource for people who don’t know how to approach sigils and can’t really afford to buy resources like books or patreon subscriptions (not that those are bad!) You’re also a person that people look to for guidance because you are comfortable and familiar to them, and it’s a lot easier to learn and try new things in an environment that feels safe. Like you said in the video, you also know more about sigils than you did in the old video, so a new video might be a good opportunity to apply that knowledge and share it?? Just some thoughts! I found your videos really helpful when I still wasn’t sure about my craft and they guided me in the right direction, your videos hold a lot of value for your viewers, especially the beginners.
I agree! I think remaking this video is good idea so it's a better jump off point! It would be nice if also show book and channel recommendations so witches who eventually do get the sources have an idea where to go next.

Okay, I love this idea. I was writing down walkthroughs/spell ideas for videos as one of my two videos per week! I think I will have to do every other week for 2 videos for time reasons, but I am absolutely *bursting* with ideas!
I know in another comment you mentioned making an updated sigil video! I have a question (I hope I'm explaining this right): if I make a sigil and want to use it long term, your old video mentioned that it could have a mind on it's own? Do you release your sigil after you get your desired outcome and then reuse it when the time comes over and over again (therefore using it for years). Or do you have it as a seperate spell/working sigil always working and never released (which then my question would be how to prevent the "mind of it's own" from depleting energy or not working anymore). I'm still a beginner witch and I hope I explained my question/confusion properly! I haven't taken a dive into sigils yet and see how you can it sex magic/glamour magic is cool and I can see myself making sigils for glamour magic! (I also will do proper research before doing sigils but I'm mostly blabbering and was wondering if you could clear my confusion),

I’ve seen this method of sigil making on several platforms…does anyone know where it originated from? Or why you remove vowels/extra letters etc.? I feel like every resource just quotes someone else but doesn’t explain the origin and reasoning
As a starter witch I have become very interested in learning sigils but when I saw you creating a sigil I noticed you didn't take out any vowels that's something I see a lot, is that a choice you don't have to remove the vowels but can instead keep them in?
I know it doesn’t help much but I think that’s entirely up to you! Personally - I love aesthetics and making my sigils pretty 😂 so sometimes I’ll do it both ways and pick whichever one looks better/more evocative of my intention
i love drawing and sigils, ive been trying to think of a way to phrase the intention to manifest my soulmate or perfect partner to make it into a sigil but i don’t know how. Anyone have any suggestions for soulmate or perfect partner sigils? Like i sometimes write down “i am in a relationship with my soulmate” and try to turn it into a sigil. not sure if im doing it correctly😅
Hi there! (I have some thoughts but do take it with a grain of salt 🤭). If you want to attract your soulmate or a partner, you might want to try wording it like "i attract a willful partner" "i am open to love" "i attract a consensual relationship" or things like that, because you could attract a relationship but it might not be exactly what you want. I think saying "i attract" will be more effective than "i am". I specify consensual and willing, because I don't want to attract someone that wouldn't actually want me. I hope that makes sense 😊
Also, for me when I manifest I make the sigil, and charge it, write it on a sheet of paper and every day (i ask my pendulum or cards for how many days) and write my manifestation 3 times a day. Once a day should he fine, and I write the sigil everyday too but that's just me. And then at the end of the time period put it away and forget about it.

However, this is the only fitting place to put this comment, as it concerns the newest episode of the Books and Broomsticks podcast, and I can't leave a comment from Spotify. So, since this is a podcast co-hosted by the chaotic witch aunt AND concerns something SHE specifically said, I thought this would be the best place to leave the comment. Anyway: the newest episode was about New Age Spirituality, and the problems with it. I was all for the idea of this episode, but only made it about three minutes into the episode before I was stunned by a statement made by TCWA. I'm paraphrasing, so this isn't the exact quote, but essentially she says at about the 1:30 mark that "these terms that were created in the last 50 years, such as 'love and light,' starseeds, indigo children, and even Atlantis promote ablism, racism, and privilege." ...W.T.F... Okay, so firstly, NO, the term ATLANTIS has been around for CENTURIES, not just the past 50 years. There were essays and descriptions of Atlantis from ancient Greece. Secondly, how tf do any of these terms promote racism and privilege? In fact, I'm pretty sure if you're looking for "inclusivity" these are some of the most inclusive terms possible because they don't refer to any specific race or gender or class or anything. They're simply used as a way for people to encourage and loft one another. Saying, "you're an indigo child" is akin to saying, "you're meant to help people on this earth." I have the same issue with the phrase "love and light" being included here. How tf do you take offense to "love and light," It's literally a wish of wellbeing to you. That's like taking offense to someone saying, "have a beautiful day!" Unless you're just a pessimist, it's not logical. And for further clarification, while they do state that not all New Age Spiritualists are like this or identify with these terms, they never do explain why they define these terms and phrases like this and I think it's unfair to make such outlandish assumptions. Yes, they go on to discuss what I actually came to the episode for, about toxic positivity, terms like "good vibes only," and such, they also discuss those topics with a very close-minded and harshly judgemental approach. Their "holier than thou" tone really annoys me, especially since that's part of what they're acting so offended about by the New Age movement. It's ridiculous. Anyway, this is just my gripe with the most recent episode of the podcast I felt needed to be aired somewhere to get off my chest or whatever, so there it is. the sign of the cross can be a sigil, the trinity can be a sigil, all kinds of stuff it just depends what you do with it
