- "Live" was a German television talk show that was broadcast on ZDF from 1987-1996. This performance of "Live" took place at the @AlteOperFrankfurt, Germany, on October 14, 1993.
"Carolina in My Mind" is one of James Taylor's most performed songs of all time and first appeared on his album "James Taylor" in 1968. James wrote it while in London recording for the Beatles' label, Apple Records. It has become the unofficial state anthem for North Carolina.

Absolutely Love this song my Daddy said it's God's Country I loved sitting on his front porch such a Georgeous view WOW I wish I could go back ,Everybody is gone either passed ,Or come bk in the summer it's so Georgeous there .
I've always called it God's country as well. The whole state, but especially the mountains along the parkway.

This is the same year that I first Saw JT, Koger Center Columbia, SC....Blew my mind, Totally
Saw him live during a free concert on the beach in Ft Lauderdale many years ago. He stepped out on stage set up on the sand. He started playing his guitar and began singing. I've never seen so many people just straight up mellow out and chill . Of course much applause and people yelling, " I love you James ", in between his songs. He played and sang over a hour. It was a great time and day !! Thank you JT for putting on one awesome concert for free, for anyone who was lucky enough to be there. ❤
This song unfolds the feelings that I can't explain in words.
This song always makes me think of and miss Luanne, Uncle Charlie, Aunt Louise, and someone very special who I loved very much and still do, even though I didn't then have the emotional maturity to show it properly. I'll always love James Taylor's music, his distinctive voice, and the precious bittersweet memories they invoke in me.
I would hear this song when I lived and worked in Wisconsin in the 80's. Being from North Carolina I would cry from being homesick. Got married and moved his butt back to my "Carolina" and lived here since.

This song is one of my favorites because I am from North Carolina and now live in Florida since 1996. My extended families still live there.
My Father’s family is from Fayetteville area of North Carolina and His Dad moved his young family to Florida with a new job running a turpentine mill for Gulf Oil Corporation in the early 1900’s. I have lived here all my life and plan to visit North Carolina in my retirement and finish my ancestry search by contacting my estranged cousins and families. I love this song, and have been a great JT fan for many years! It always puts Carolina on my mind!😉😊💙🎸
I am from Henderson/Louisburg area! I joined the Navy at 18 and moved away then went back after 4 years. Then went back in in 1986 and have lived in Virginia and Florida but living in Florida since 1996.
