    This seemed like a fun game. I was excited to see Breena get played. She is almost always underestimated every time I’ve seen her in action. Opponents swing in at each other to draw cards, but by the time it comes back to your turn you have like a huge flyer that can swing in for a bunch of damage. She’s one of my favorite face commanders that has come out in recent years.

    Bernard is an interesting one. It wants to do so many things at once.
    My favorite card in my Bernard deck is Cultural Exchange. It allows me to give somebody 1/1 cookies with an already used ETB effect. Best part is that it doesn't target creatures, only the player. Sooo, you can steal hexproof and shrouded creatures.

    I wanted to like Brenard but every time I played him it just never really popped off like I'd've liked. I eventually just switched him out for Galadriel, Light of Valinor and dropped the whole golem/food/pod theme from the deck and now just do a creature storm kind of build. Different from what I first put together with it, but more fun once you get the hang of it.

      brenard needs so many moving pieces to work at all and that's why I like it. gives so many options to build towards and is not just a do thing draw card snooze fest

    should consider putting brainstorm in the rainbow road. helps unclog hands in response to the bridge trigger.

      Netherese puzzle-Ward is good especially since you can stack the triggers

    1st Breena attack should have only gotten 1 trigger, since there was noone with more then 40 life at the table

      It could have been two if he had attacked Mat and John since they both had more life than Muddstah but he attacked Muddstah who had the least life among his opponents so Breena shouldn't have triggered from the Sentinel's attack.

    Shame Brenard still hasn't quite popped off for you so far Andrew. I've been brewing him myself for a while and finally got to play him for the first time the other day.
    I too kept a hand with ramp and card draw, then fumbled around trying to find my fourth land for 7-8 turns but I got to do stuff in the end, so not a bad outing really.

    I would love to see an updated Breena list. The link only has 85 cards.
    Also, when are the inkling tokens created? Is it a delayed trigger after Inkshield resolves and the tokens are created when you move to damage in combat? I’m just wondering if there is ever a world where you can sacrifice the inklings to annihilator.

    • @theaamanable
      @theaamanable 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Annihilator is an on attack trigger, it goes on the stack as soon as ulamog is turned sideways, this way before damage happens, it’s before blockers are even declared. Inkshield resolves during damage calculation

    • @danriemer9724
      @danriemer9724 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theaamanable ink shield could resolve with the annihilator trigger on the stack. But the tokens aren’t created until damage? I’m familiar with the ordering, i was just curious as to when the tokens show up. Do you have to cast inkshield during the damage step?
      *edit* I see that it prevents it for the turn so you can cast it with the annihilator trigger on the stack, but I’m guessing the tokens don’t resolve until damage happens. Not sure if that is called a delayed trigger or something else.

    • @theaamanable
      @theaamanable 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@danriemer9724 then it would go Inkshield, sees no damage because blockers haven’t been declared so we can’t go to damage step
      Annihilator sac 4
      So no, there’s no conceivable world where you can pop out the tokens before the annihilator trigger finishing doing what it’s doing

    • @danriemer9724
      @danriemer9724 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theaamanable That’s what I thought. So are the tokens created off a delayed trigger? Now I’m wondering if there are things you can do between inkshield resolving and the tokens showing up. Stifle for example, or killing a sacrifice outlet. It’s pretty corner case, but I like to fully understand the rules.

    • @theaamanable
      @theaamanable 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@danriemer9724 so Inkshield has 2 sentences on it, so it has two abilities on resolution effectively. During combat it would go
      Go to combat (any responses)
      In combat, declare attackers (any responses, annihilator now goes on the stack)
      Annihilator must resolve before blockers are declared. So if you play Inkshield, the first part of Inkshield will resolve and yes, the token generation is now a “delayed” trigger that will happen in a second
      So now you sac 4 permanents, and all damage is nullified from combat
      Now we go to declare blockers (any responses)
      Now we go to damage, this is where the second half of Inkshield now sees how much damage was prevented by the attackers, you can also respond to things here.
      Then end of combat, which again has a response trigger.

    Why is Breena getting a trigger that applies four counters instead of just two? Am I missing something causing a double trigger of her? (One instance he attacked the player who has the highest life total, then one who had the lowest)

    • @DarkEinherjar
      @DarkEinherjar 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Breena's controller can get two triggers per combat by attacking the two opponents with the highest and second highest life totals. Each trigger nets them a card and two +1/+1 counters.

    Kozilek? One of if not my favourite (that people tend to not let me play lol ), this is gonna be interesting. I do prefer the newer one these days, OG Kozilek tends to put a even bigger target on you.

      Don't wanna spoil so thoughts in here: On Johsn turn 6 I would've slammed kozilek. It would've given more cards than Minds eye and sure, you'd be a bit of a threat but I think it would've positioned him well. Mox was going off the next turn which would've helped him recast kozilek if need be. It could help more against a wrath as well, possibly netting you more cards. A swing against Arca wouldn't be too bad there plus he has a necro he can dig with (and sacc to annihilator if no answer was found) for an answer to kozilek.

    When the Clone of Ulagomog died, it shouldn't have triggered and shuffled itself and the graveyard into the library.
    Ulamog triggers in the graveyard at which point the Clone its just a Clone, not an Ulamog.
