can you explain straight to the point? I spent a while here... but still couldn't find a TLDR version of "How to Increase the Quality of your Zoom Recordings!"
9:35 The zoom paid plan comes with 1GB storage and not 1TB. Above that you need to purchase additional storage. I am not sure what their exact policy is since I found that it is not a hard limit and it is possible to record more than 1GB and you will receive an email that you have gone over quota.
HD is only for paid accounts, and currently says it requires 2 days notice of request for some of their paid account types. 720 is only available with meetings of 3 or more participants. I don't understand this, because if a record is stored locally, and running Zoom as a local app, and not streaming out, it would have zero impact on their infrastructure. A common use case, for production of a video, such as youtube.
That Group HD video option doesn't appear to be available on the free version anymore. But, I did a test video, and it was in 1280 x 720. Then I did an interview minutes later, and it came out 640 X 360. Why does this happen? Is there a fix for this? Thank you The Kerry Kinsey Show
Hi my zoom recordings were always good but some months ago it cant really record correct i try record a video that is online on a website for practicing so when using zoom the sound is barrally there and all laggy or not understandible how can i fix that
Is the 1080p option available for the basic/free version of Zoom? Or, is a paid for version required? I don't see the 1080p option available in my Zoom settings or preferences panels. BTW, I am not using OBS, just the Mac OS and Chrome browser.
Paul, thanks so much for your video. The information was really helpful. I will let you know how this helps with my yoga video recordings. I am doing a hybrid yoga class where some people are in person and some are in zoom. I want to record and upload these classes to my website. The first try was no bueno. The sound was trash. I am going to try hooking up my Rhode mics to the zoom this week. I did not know that I could connect OBS, so thanks for that as well!
Hi Alara, it definitely will. Using OBS you don’t need to send the audio over the internet and saving to your local hard drive is much higher quality when you use a good bitrate
Thanks for the comparisons. I was curious to know the bitrate of the various recordings. Unfortunately with our workflow we can only record to cloud. Maybe in the future Zoom will increase the bitrate of cloud recordings.
Hi. Can someone please guide me? I have updated to pro account and have enabled the Group HD.. But still my statistics show that I am sending only 640x360 resolution video
Unfortunately I am not able to get help from Zoom Support =( not able to find anything on google as well. And I have to teach classes in just few next days..
You have to "ask" Zoom to enable HD. I just did it for our church. We have the Pro Account. It does improve the quality it a little. I'm very upset with Zoom. They sell you a car with four tires BUT they only give you 3 until you ask for it. It seems like Zoom still lives in 2010 with the video quality.
@Arthur Harder I then decided to stream my class live on youtube at 1080p and run Zoom in parallel (at back end) only for the conference call (without video) to hear and conversate with my students like it's done in a classroom.

Yakov you are right thanks for noting that. I also noticed it’s not a hard limit

Thanks for doing your own tests and sharing with us! Great video 👏
Thank you!
how to get a TB? I only have 5 gb
Your tracking footage at the end. Where you get that?

This was SO helpful! Thank you! About to head over to your OBS video! Appreciate you and your content!
Video is way too long. Get to the point.
Agree. Don't use optimize, and turn on HD if you're using a paid account. But likely there are some geeks who'd want/use the bit rate discussion.
Agree with you. It felt like I am attending a class in uni.
I record both gallery view and speaker view. The speaker-view video recording is always 340x480. Is there any way to improve it?

Hi! How did the 2nd round of recording go?
I had an important meeting that our non profit wanted to post on TH-cam. I wish I had of watched this beforehand. Lesson learned! Thank you so much.
I do a lot of security-sensitive Zoom work and I will not send anything to the cloud.
I'm more concerned with Audio. Does OBS help the audio recording quality if I have a good audio setup on my end?
