Although it is sad, it's not surprising. Smite was having a slow decline and the Smite 2 announcement only sped up the decline. Even if they add 50 gods by the end of the year to Smite 2 that isn't going to increase revenue for them. Most people aren't going to pay for alpha access.
@MrLaddyLucks it's literally the price of an uber eats meal for 2 people or 5 coffees from Starbucks or whatever I would call that a barrier since people buy that stuff on a daily basis people just don't wanna pay money for early access which is fine that's down to them but purchasing the early access gives you access to present an future gods without purchasing which I did for smite 1 also

As someone who played Smite since the beta, it is sad to see it dying like this. But at the same time I have not played the game in about a year so I see why it is. Also for what it's worth, I only occasionally watch your videos these days even though I still love you as a content creator but I am just over Smite, so switching to Deadlock mainly has a good chance of bringing me in for more videos.
Not sad, justified. Smite is run by clowns. The devs are fantastic and I love what they make us, but so much of the high level decisions are literally comedic. Smite earned its death.

Hey Incon, the first time i played smite was like in 2014-2015. It's hard to believe that this was 10 years ago and it makes me sad and at the same time happy, to think of all the fun we had. But as we grow older the playerbase shrinks and not every game is forever good and popular. But a TH-cam channel can be! So i fully understand your decisions. I liked the game and your skill and expertise, but there are other games in which you will be good at. It may be hard to keep your current viewers, but many new will join. I think many people like you as a contant creator and not just for a game. If you manage to manifest this, you can try many diffrent games.

Been playing smite for a very long time and will not go back to smite 1. It sucks where the game is at right now because deep down I love everything about smite. MOBA with many mythical gods ect is what reeled me in but the bugs, the horrid balancing and a lot of the choices for the map and gods they are making is what’s driving me away. Unfortunately I genuinely don't see Smite kicking back up steam again especially with Deadlock on the horizon. 50 Gods still isn't enough for most people, especially veterans who are waiting for their mains to come back. They should've announced Smite 2 when 50 Gods were available on the first alpha patch, not 50 Gods on its free to play release. I believe it's an end of an era and Hi-Rez made a really big mistake. But on the bright side, it'll be a new chapter for you Incon. A new game for you to grow into, maybe even grow bigger as a content creator since Deadlock will be huge.
honestly I have been consistently watching the smite content for you, and Mast, for the better part of the last 5 years. Ever since deadlock came out I have not watched a single Smite content, deadlock is an amazing game
SMITE 2 is just not there and SMITE 1 is basically in content purgatory now, so I've also found myself playing other multiplayer games more unfortunately. SMITE 2 should not have been announced this early is all I'm gonna say.
As deadlock gamers, I wish you good luck, sir. its certainly hard challange to push deadlock conten rn, because people already sort out content creator they want to follow already (Mash is few that i see from smite scene that have been making the switch work). The biggest opportunity might came from public beta (if there is any) or official release (which we dont know when). Nonetheless, just very happy to have well experience content creator like you entering deadlock scene. Edit : people need to realize that making switch from one game to another is not eazy decision. Especially game that you love and put lifetime into. But sometimes, you need to move on and people need to stop bitching.
I wish you the best, but I'm all about the Smite, personally. Deadlock and twitchy shooters like it just aren't my thing. Neither on a gameplay level (it's a lot to keep up with constantly, Smite's short bursts of excitement are far more up my alley than the constant need to pop off precision shots at targets all over the place) nor on a watcher level (there's a lot more movement to throw me off and make me feel sick if I'm not in control, myself). I gave it a fair shot, but just didn't vibe with the game. But you're a great streamer who deserves not to have to torture himself with annoying, buggy, sadly dying games. It might pain me immensely to see Smite1/2 die off while a game I just unfortunately don't vibe with rises up, but you don't have to go down with that ship. I hope the best for Smite 2 in the future, and that it can find its footing and regain a healthy playerbase and be fun to play again. But I don't begrudge you the decision to switch to a game you enjoy more, either now or in the future if Deadlock turns out to be more lucrative in the long run.
I’ve played Smite almost daily since the beta release on Xbox and switched to PC accumulating overall around 8000 hours. Masters conquest and could be GM if I had the time to put in. I took a couple breaks when certain games came out but I always went back to Smite. Smite has now lost its spark for me. Not because of HiRez but because I am BORED. I pretty much stopped playing all forms of Smite after alpha release and stopped watching all Smite content. Smite 2 won’t currently hold my attention because it’s the same game in my eyes. Deadlock fulfills my quest for knowledge. It’s new, fun, fresh, has insane movement and across the board feels incredible. This isn’t goodbye Smite this is see you later (hopefully) 💕

Deadlock might be slowing down in popularity in the past week, and you might get significantly lower viewers for the short term because your main audience is Smite players/watchers. But hopefully it'll work out for the long term

I'm not playing smite 1 or 2 right now. I was trying to grow as a content creator but the past few months, it feels impossible to grow with smite. it's my favorite game of all time but there's so many reasons why i can't play. Main one being that i can't stream and play bc it's not well optimized. Deadlock is fun and well optimized so it's easier to make content with it
Hi-Rez really over estimated themselves during this whole thing. 1. They ruined Smite 1 with all these crazy buffs and item interactions as a means to try and push people to try Smite 2, but the issue is that they should have waited until they made Smite 2 F2P. 2. Smite 2 isn't F2P, like I get it is alpha but I know people who never put a dime into Smite who played it for years, so why would they put a dime into Smite 2 just to try it? 3. Even though each patch Smite 2 is looking better and better, early Smite 2 game play looked terrifying and scared a lot of the lower rank players into never wanting to try it, and so now they are skeptical on if it is a game they would enjoy. Hi-Rez really struggling because they just handled this transition terribly.
Maybe time to have a regular job and have this as a side thing/hobby soon if it is gonna be worse from now on? I don't know, just want things to work out for you. Hoping you can still manage to be full time content creation. Much love.
I mean might as well ....i don't think smite 2 will be a major flop but if they intended on moving smite in to a new engine and graphic overhaul to try to grow smite as a whole then i think they failed i think smite 2 will keep most of it's loyal fans for the most part i think steam numbers will go up once free to play but the bigger question do they stay or if it's just people being curious .. :D hirez laying people off was a red flag already that things arn't going smoothly over there and it's making people question the company and the future of smite 2 i think smite 2 will stay roughly the same number wise so not a major flop but no major gains so pretty static i guess

Played Smite since late season 2 early season 3. Dropped it like a brick when Smite 2 was announced. Looked back and holy shit the game is dead. 5k on steam, creators are running like rats from a sinking ship. I hope im wrong, but i fully belive that Smite and Smite 2 is doomed.
I didnt really like Smite 2 because a good percent of the current roster i do not like or care for so i keep playing Smite 1. Its the same for my friend group to.

My personal opinion is that you should devote the majority of your time to deadlock. Smite (and smite 2) will be on a steady downward trend

Played Smite since late season 2 early season 3. Dropped it like a brick when Smite 2 was announced. Looked back and holy shit the game is dead. 5k on steam, creators are running like rats from a sinking ship.
I hope im wrong, but i fully belive that Smite and Smite 2 is doomed.

I didnt really like Smite 2 because a good percent of the current roster i do not like or care for so i keep playing Smite 1. Its the same for my friend group to.

Smite 2 is just a cash grab before it dies. Not a single person will be hyped about smite 2 releasing free to play because it's exactly the same game we already had for years. I haven't touched Smite 2 and even I feel like I have already seen there is to see. They just wanted to make some money from the packs
You should move on from Smite! I stopped playing Smite when they announced they wouldnt migrate skins. I have no interest in Smite 2, and I havent played Smite 1 in months. You can find success elsewhere!
