Nobody is writing songs the way Jinjer is writing songs. They're making art. Everything from just stomping caveman riffs to the most intricate classically inspired passages.
It is really a brave song about people struggling with alcoholism. The Green Serpent is an Eastern European symbol for alcoholism. (Tatiana has posted that she is 2 years sober) This is why I love Jinjer. How many metal bands write about fighting addiction in both a beautiful melodic way and in a gritty banger way. They are an evolution in metal. Good reaction (Subbed)
As a guitarist to 40+ years, sometimes we old guys have a problem with newer music. Groups like Jinjer and Animals As Leaders have done it for me, and I must say that this song give me that initial punch in the face the way Pisces did. I think it’s probably one of my favorites at this point.
This is easily my favourite of the singles released so far for the new album. This is some of my favourite vocal melodic composition from Tati, & I love her extensive use of her *gorgeous* head voice in this piece. That section with the combined guitar & bass tapping with great drum groove is incredible, & I love the Opethy outro. *Great* tune, destined to be a Jinjer classic, IMO.
I feel this encapsulates everything the other 3 singles gave us glimpses of. And personally it’s so nice to hear that they can still do a (somewhat) standard structure song and absolutely murder it. Like you said - the cleans in this. Unlike anything we’ve heard from them before. Outstanding. 🤘🏻
I remember discovering Jinjer with the Pisces music video and being shocked that the voice was coming from Tatiana's body. Tatiana looked gorgeous and that song was excellent. I like a lot of Jinjer's older stuff and many of the newest songs weren't doing it for me but this song right here was fucking awesome!
lol Green Serpent is metaphorically referred to alcohol in russian. Bitten by green serpent in slavic tradition is symbolic of alcoholism and the depths of intoxication/addiction.....as for the song, the opeth outro is cool. Middle LOG breakdown is cool. Also kinda sounds like an angular proggy album cut on first listen, but maybe it's just another grower jinjer song.....also tati looks hot here 😂😂
Totally agree my favorite song out of the singles so far (not that I disliked the others). Should be a solid album. Now back to “The Last Will and Testament” 😁
I like all of the singles so far, but this one has a little bit of everything. Not sure I can pick a favorite. Really my only complaint is that they pushed the album release date back too far. Now I'm conflicted between wanting them to keep dropping more singles for consistent fan engagement/album hype and wanting them to hold the rest back so more than half of the album is still fresh on release day.
They've really been messed about by the record label pushing the release back. The whole point of the song "Kafka" was that it was Kafka's centenary in 2024. But the label wanted to milk the live album.
@@johnbriggs3916 I hadn't even thought about that. It was weird that it took so long for them to release the live album. I actually forgot they even recorded that show because the band had been talking about this upcoming album for quite a while.
When is the final Manson’s album review coming out? You guys should also review the holy trinity (Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Holywood).
Good song. Though they ripped off Opeth for the outro of the song. I didn't like leaving out the rest of the band for the video. Whether we like it or not, every band has to evolve musically , and there's no denying that Jinjer does so in spades.
A bass solo isn't "ripping" anyone off. It might remind you of Opeth but they didn't invent concluding a song with a tapping bass solo. You could just as easily say it sounds like Charles Bethoud or Stanley Clark. They both do the tapping bass solos and it's a signature technique for Eugene.
@@coder4liberty Mr. 'Jinjer attorney seen everywhere', I double down. Not only that, but also the just previous marching riff is pure Meshuggah. And with that I don't take away any merit from the band -which I love by the way-, because ALL bands have their references.
I tend to agree...wallflowers and on has been a letdown for me...there's some decent stuff here and there but their music to me has turned more and more progressive & chaotic sounding with less groove throughout...but after the micro & macro releases I've really just been disappointed overall...further & further away from their metalcore roots

Literally, and even just listen to the intentional way they create momentary dissonance, just to resolve it beautifully. They’re different.

A lot of metal songs have very meaningful lyrics actually, even the ones with pure screaming where you can barely understand any of the words 😂

They stay consistent which is something a good amount of fans like. But also people can get bored easily. Its such a fine line to please fans.

They went into a death metal territory in this song. Kind of Pestilence or Death vibe. And I like it a lot.

Love this new single. I noticed the new Jinjer album AND new Obscura albums are coming out on the same day. That would be a dream tour for me omg
The best Jinjer song ive heard so far (and ive heard many)
Solid song! Im still not really a fan, but this was a good listen.
The best of the 4 songs, so far. By quite a wide margin imo.

They’ve been hanging with spiritbox. They’re blending both bands
It's a band that knows its sound. Luckily, its fa king killer! But I feel what you mean.
Okkkk song

Kill the reverb
Good track but ive just never been into Jinjer. This one wont change that sentiment for me.
I dont get Jinjer. Individually they are great players but the music just lands flat for me.
their new stuff is crap
I'm sorry to hear YOU don't like it but no it isn't crap.

I really don't see that much of a difference from their older stuff.
Lol 0 likes for the dumb opinion 😂😂😂😂
