I worked on the video clip shown here. It was shot in the summer of 1985 in Alburgh and Clacton. Directed by Storm Thorgeson and shot by 'Sleazy' Pete Christopherson. Up there for a week and it was a lot of fun. My lasting memory is shooting the opening and closing shots in the marsh land around Alburgh on the Saturday afternoon, whilst all the crew were listening to the Live Aid concert for Wembley on the sound recordists car radio.
Love this video! Wasn't there a slightly longer version of it that also aired on MTV? Or am I not remembering correctly. I though there was more of an intro than what's shown in this version?
Probably the best of Belouis's songs. Not played often enough on radio. For some reason radio DJs seem to think 'Imagination' is his best piece of work

Love the concept of this video, with people's inner child (or lost dreams?) coming out, and all done in a small budget. It Ain't What You Do, is The Way That You Do It.
Is it that the ones who are dancing haven't lost sight of their ability to relax and have fun, while the static people are bound by cares, reserve and inhibitions?
I heard this song during my teens in the 80s but never saw the video until TH-cam. It was then that I understood the meaning of the song, as you described it. 😊
Strange how all the older people in this video used to all dance when they were younger 😊 haha Great video, what it would be like to be young again eh AWESOME SONG AWESOME ARTIST !!! Keep rocking all
Very, very nice video. No need to portray or show other stuffs like most videos nowadays. We all have a young kid and/ young lady inside of us. That's the essence of innocence. Please, always have in mind that some people dance cheek to cheek, and some other people simply 🕺 💃 🕺 💃 Greetings!!!
The song is great. And the video clip too. The ending reminds me a bit of the story of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, taking all the children of the town with his music. But there is something that I still don't understand: Are the young people who appear behind the adults the children of those people or are they the same people but when they were young?
@@lucascrenovich9881 I think they are the same people. The video tries to show like some kind of awakening of the young spirit (young kids and girls) we all have inside us. Happiness and dancing, even confrontation that has a happy ending. It's really a cute video.
Tan solo vine a conocer esta canción hace unas semanas por una emisora online francesa y no me la puedo sacar de la mente, ahora menos con ese video tan precioso, era muy pequeño en esa epoca.🙃
i always remember this song...it was little known, but very effective in its coreography...it was sort of a little known favorite that echoes "youth gone by".

Fascinating to read that Storm Thorgeson (of Hipgnosis fame) and 'Sleazy' Pete Christopherson worked on this project. Two very creative chaps. The video looks fun but rather conventional given their involvement. Looks like the record company was targeting the teenyboppers.
not at all. all the reasons you like this song. radio never backed me properly. teenyboppers never got to hear my music. clubs and college radio mainly😎
I was never sure if he was referring to people like himself with this title, or referring to a proportion of the population..or maybe I'm overthinking it..whatever, a top tune from the Ultimate '80s Q-Tip-headed Funkmeister!

Best music was made the eighties

An underrated catchy song
To bald guy6966. I knew this tune - but not who it was by!
Thoroughly under appreciated tune.
Amen!! A masterpiece
Thanks for not using the highly unimaginative “underrated.” 😁
It's a superb tune. Love that mid 80's guitar riff.
@@DJAlgorhythms Also the "I'm building a time machine to go back to the 80's, who wants to come with me"

Hadn't hear it for 35 years and i remembered it suddenly from the refrain some people and then. Unbelievable really. I want to go back and stay there.
Was in High school in 85/86. Music was nice. Fashion was good. Leaders no!
Classy song Some People this guy had a few gems in the greatest decade of all time never to forget miss it so much oh hail the 80s
Great tune brought here by Forgotten 80s
No. 67 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.
This tune needs to be revived! Either on an advert or a film score.
Running up that hill, make a deal with God
To the other commenter’s point, the lyrics are incredibly relevant to the political world of 2023!!!
My whole life’s theme song. Feel it all
1985 was the best year 🥰
I saw these guys live when the opened for Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

Fantastic song, I wonder why it is not more famous and more often on the radio.
There are 80s songs on mainstream radios nowadays ?
this song was the Swatch TV commercial anthem in 1989 -- the year i was a senior in high school
Ok I was not wrong!
Nel 1985 non c'ero ancora,ma questo brano l'ho scoperto con radio capital tv

This song as I liked it in the 80's and still from Miranda Venezuela.
