    I’m a Hawk 250 owner (carbureted). I have @ 10,000 miles on my Hawk with zero problems. I’ve done quite a bit of mods, and she’ll run 65 mph all day long (GPS confirmed). They are quite reliable if you set them up properly out of the crate and make some well-known reliability mods. By the way, the CG250 motors aren’t fully broken in until @ 1,000 miles. They are very tight from the factory.

      Yeah! for the first 2000miles I could not use the kick start, even my mechanic friend was impressed on how tight it they come, at 10k is super loose and after 5-10 times it turns on like a charm tho, I did too much water riding and while is super fun, my bike is on its last days, I wish I could attach a picture so you can see what I am talking about!

    It's all about the tires. You have an aggressive tread on the Hawk, if you had a 50/50 tire on it, it would have felt different.

    • @hanzdidit
      @hanzdidit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do agree that the tires had a lot to do with it but I think it is a lot about the center of gravity. Both bikes are a lot of fun and I would recommend both of them depending on your needs. Thank you so much for watching.

      Yes this would be a great beginner bike. You will not want to ride it on the highway but if you have back roads you can take to get to work on then this is a great bike to learn on. This is a great video. I currently have the Hawk DLX and I don't enjoy riding it. I live in Florida and the off road trails are all sand. I have to fight the Hawk on and off road. The battery dies the first ride and the EFI acted up after that. It was discouraging. I am seriously considering trading it for this Lifan. I guess my main question would be is the Hawk 250 good for a beginner rider. I'm about 250 pounds and I will most likely be only using it to learn on for short commutes. I live in the mid-west so I will probably only ride in the spring though the summer. Thanks for the great content.

    • @hanzdidit
      @hanzdidit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think these bites are great bikes to learn on. I am 5'7" and I feel like the hawk DLX is a little bit tall for me. When you are learning to ride you need to be able to get your feet on the ground quickly. The KPM is a lot shorter bike so depending on your height I think that should be the biggest consideration. Only reason I would suggest the DLX is if you were going to be taking off road. I hope this helps and thank you so much for watching.

      In most states you need a motorcycle license for mopeds. They've gotten so much faster recently. I always see 150s and higher. In texas anything over 50cc takes a motorcycle license and thats the same with almost every state. I personally wouldn't get a 50cc moped. I think all speedometers are set a couple mph faster than what your actually doing. Did you ever notice when you pass one of those speed meters on the side of the highway and it always shows you going a couple mph slower? Next time you see one look at your car speedo to see how fast your going and than look at the speed meter to see the difference. If your going exactly 70 mph on your cars speedo, the speed meter will say 67-68 mph.

    • @hanzdidit

      To be honest with you I didn't think it was that hard. You just have to take the certificate of origin and pay the tax for your state to import, and print that out. Take that to the DMV and you should be good to go. It took me about two hours total on my last bike. I could see how it might be hard if he did not know what to do I will make a video trying to explain how to do it easy and fast. Thank you so much for watching.

    • @hanzdidit
      @hanzdidit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree but I would not want to be in a highway full of high-speed traffic trying to get out of the way on this bike. Just FYI, I ordered my Hawk in 2018 and I picked it up at my local UPS dock in Shreveport, La within 3 days of ordering, but I paid xtra for same day processing & shipping. In the tiny town I lived in, I was able to get it insured w/ Progressive after they called the home office to run down a Make & Model to apply to the policy. All in all, I got it in an expected time frame, and was able to get it insured within 30 mins of walking into my local insurance office!! Unfortunately, I had my bike for 2 short weeks when an oncoming log truck ran off the road into his ditch, hitting a culvert. Instantly stopping the rig, but his load of logs became wooden missiles!
      Some where still airborne when they hit my truck, but some had bounced up off the pavement and we’re just high enough to take out my door and literally skim my side! I had pine tree bark in my side from the log sliding past me! My wife and I both were instantly knocked out but thank God, survived !!! I woke up to total darkness laying face down in leaves. I thought, “ Oh Shit! I’m blind!!! But thankfully it was just leaves that had been glued to my face by all the blood from my nose😰 I wiped my face and I vividly remember opening my eyes and seeing my ‘BRAND NEW’ Hawk 250 hanging upside down, still secured to the motor bike rack that I had in my 2” receiver hitch on my (what used to be a) Dodge Dakota! And oh BTW, if you think those racks aren’t really strong enough to safely transport a bike,... well, I’m here to say, YES THEY ARE!!!😄 That truck rolled numerous times before coming to a rest upside down. So, that bike stayed put the whole time. And really didn’t get damaged, taking in what just happened!
      It’s now March 2021 and fuel prices are at the ridiculous price of $4/gal. here at the TX-LA border, and I see no relief in sight (as long as Flash Bang Biden continues to destroy our country and stays in office) But, in the mean time, I’m gonna buy another HAWK! LOVED!!! my first one!!! Even my Dad was Amazed at the bike for the price! People are always stating that, ...”they aren’t as dependable, or powerful, or that they don’t ride as smooth as a Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, etc.!” And, honestly,... OK, Sure, maybe so! But when I bought my Hawk, I was about to drop $5500 on a Yamaha XT 250! And I was out like $1500 for an assembled bike! And quite honestly, the XT250 WAS a all round better bike, but it CERTAINLY was Not $4000.00 better! So an Apples 2 Apples 🍎 comparison, from a guy who’s pinchin’ pennies til they Fart! and who’s grown up on Jeep’s & four wheelers, ... Dollar 4 Dollar, the Hawk 250 is BY FAR the Best Value !!! Hands Down!
      If you want one, and you’re putting it off cuz you’re concerned with winding up w/ a Piece o’ Sh!t wrapped in cool looking plastic, GET IT! I cannot stress to everyone just how surprised I was when I opened up the crate and saw it for the first time!!!😲🤭🤗😮😎
      I was genuinely surprised, because I too was expecting a poorly assembled product with poorly made parts!! That I would systematically start replacing w much better, stronger parts! My expectations were blown away once I got some seat time with it!!
      It’s just a dang good product, and a dang good price. When buying one, I truly believe that WHERE you buy it from, is THE MOST important decision of this process! Make sure, their customer service is TOP NOTCH!!! Because if you DO happen to get a lemon, you want to know you can call the dealer, and they will solve the problem! I ordered mine from TXPOWERSPORTS.com and I was more than satisfied!!!!
      I hope this helps anyone out there who is wanting to get a Hawk, but is just unsure about it!! Good Luck & Happy Trails!!

    • @hanzdidit
      @hanzdidit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first things that I would check is to make sure that your fuel petcock is turned on. Then I will check and make sure that you have fuel in the tank, it takes at least a half a gallon of gas to get it primed. The only other thing I could think of is to make sure that your battery is fully charged and the spark plug is making a good connection. I didn't have any trouble with mine so you should be able to get it started pretty easily. If you are still having trouble you might want to contact the seller and see if they have any suggestions. Thank you so much for watching.
