Hahaha, thank you Scotty... well, there is no coincidence that me and Mattias upload a video at the same time. We are both Ambassadors for AMOK and today was release of this new hammock (limited edition) so we both got ours some weeks prior to this day. So we could make some footage (if we wanted to) before hand. 👌🏻

The Draumr looks like a fantastic piece of kit I'm going to try using a hammock this season so because of not knowing how I may get on I'm going to try the Segl XL in a light and fast setup
The Draumr is by far the best bed I own... it is so damn comfortable, easy to set up and packs small. The Segl is also a good hammock, but I can't sleep a whole night in a traditional hammock (banana shape) my back won't allow it 🙈 Cheers

I hope to purchase an Amok in the next year. As a side sleeper, regular hammocks don't work well. It looks like it could work.
I'm a side and back sleeper my self, and I just can't have a good night sleep in traditional hammocks (banana shape) I can guarantee this will work for you. you can also sleep on your stomach if you like 👌🏻

I find my self enjoying videos like this more and more as a little brake from the normal trend (say as many words as you can in a 8 min timeframe) 🙈🤣 You guys have really strict rules for camping and wildcamping right? @@tshansen im really curios how you film and frame your shots, really love your work mate! Yes it’s so annoying here with all the rules… but they aren’t the real problem. It’s more problematic with all of the wannabe sheriffs, who will instantly call the police, just because they think your not allowed to to something.

How I frame and film.... that is a good question, I'm not completely sure how I do it my self. I just don't think to much about it, and go with the flow and try to find compositions that helps to bring the video a live (if that make sense) We should film something together one day. So we can see how each other work. Skål 👌🏻

Hello mate 🤩 Hammock camping is so much better than tenting or any other form. Just to get off the ground and sleep in the "air" is game changing when it comes to comfort. I'm not a huge fan of the traditional hammock, I just can't sleep properly in banana shape. You should really get to try it sometimes. I do understand it is a expensive kit for many, but when you add up what you get, how long it last and how well made it is... it is just a "must have" Cheers 🔥

I could almost smell the coffee and ‘feel’ the silence of that spot. Keep up the good work! By the way I am planning to come over for a trip, not 100% sure yet, but it looks promising. This time two-up with my youngest son. So I am going to ‘test’ this new ferry.. the thing is, two-up there will be no room for camera equipment🤔

I'm still trying to convince myself to get a draumr for my bike trips, my beloved but old and worn tent, helsport ringstind 1, has served me well but has deserved to retire, pretty sure a draumr xl combo is going to be the replacement.
Have you ever tried one? I can honestly say, this hammock is the best damn bed I own. I even use it inside the house when relaxing. I have owned one since they first released the XL version (way before I became a ambassador for the brand) and it is just amazing. I can't rate it high enough 👏🏻🇳🇴
@@tshansen yeah I have tried it, and yes I agree, it is probably also the most comfortable place to sleep when out in the wild, and it is 99% sure gonna be my replacement, the only thing that has kept me from it is the silly old argument that I know I'm gonna have to spend a few nights so far north/high up this summer that there are no trees to tie on to, but I'll just use it as a bivy on the ground, besides it's probably only gonna be 2-3 nights without trees.
@@hkeg80 then you just book a cabin 😝 i struggle with the same argument and in most cases there is no problem finding a pole or something to hook it up to

Nice vid Thomas, great scenery. You already got me into one of these Nordic bear sausage roll ups last year. I went with 5.0 XL in dark green - really nice. I had a bit of trouble getting in and out, but it was my fault for setting it too high, and the scotch may have been a factor too. I ended up buying the Tensa portable stand for when there is a lack of trees. Cheers!
Thank you Shayne... believe me, everyone has a little bit of struggle getting in and out of these hammocks 🤣 That's why I always recommend people to film the first time 🤣 The Tensa portable stand? never heard of, need to check that out. Would love to have a better option for the front view pole. Not everywhere it is ok to find wood here either. Thank you for the tip.
@@tshansen I picked up the Tensa4, as well as the solo option. The Tensa4 is a bit heavy on the bike, which is why I bought the solo. Will try it this season. Allows you to use the hammock pretty effectively wherever you want.
You don't need words (and not much music) to create a thrilling video. Very well done, Thomas.

It is by far the best bed I own.... When it comes to backpack it depends on what size it is. I would say that a larger backpack is better of stored on the ground under the Hammock or hanging on a tree next to it.

Haha, yeah... I will add some more cinematic videos as well, try to mix it up a little. See If I can develop my story and visual part of this whole video journey. Some times it is better to not say anything 🤩 It does not take much time, I have never "timed" it, but I goes fast... and if it rains I put up the tarp first.
Will any other manufacturer mat fit this. Like for instance an Exped one?
Yes, the exped will fit in the normal sized one, but in the XL model the exped is not long enough.

Tent should be the main equipment for every Adventure rider, but a hammock is a really good second option to have on some of the trips. There is no place i sleep better than in my hammock 😉🇳🇴

Hahaha, det kommer av flere år med trening Anders 🤣👏🏻 Ja, det eneste jeg ikke har testet i UL enda er tarpen, men jeg har brukt UL køyen og nå underlaget, som jeg ble veldig positivt overrasket over. Jeg har vært veldig glad i vanlig FJØL, men denne UL varianten var nesten bedre. Jeg må gjøre enda mere testing for å å kjenne hva som er de største forskjellene 🔥

Hello mate… I always bring one extra tarp for that exact purpose 🔥 i make a ridget line to hang my gear on, and put a extra tarp up over it so it can hang and dry… This is the best solution i have come across for my needs on wet days. Cheers

Hello Thomas, I really appreciate the effort you take in making your videos but I have to be honest that I have the feeling that the content is evolving more into cinematic commercials then it is about adventure motorcycle riding. For me that takes a (big) hit on your credibility. That aside, have fun in whatever you are doing!
So sad to hear this. I don’t do commercial on my channel, so this is something i really don’t like to hear. I have been a AMOK ambassador for many years now, but i never push it in any way. Please tell me where you think i come off as a cinematic commercial other than in this video?
