The giveaway has CLOSED (see June 14 livestream for winner)
*1)* Someone created an account called "Text on Telegram @LostLakes" and used our logo and was responding to people to tell them they had won. Some kind of scam. Their account has been banned on this channel but please watch out. There will be a separate draw video.
*2)* FYI, these are all my own thoughts. Amok had no part in creating or reviewing the content. They ask nothing to enter the draw, no hoops to jump through...they are just generously giving away a set. If you're interested the draumr, check out Amok's channel here:
    th-cam.com/users/AmokEquipment
    *3) GIVEAWAY*
Please read the rules in the description if you want to enter the draw. In a nutshell, all you have to do to enter is write one new comment and keep it PG (e.g. ask a question about the draumr, tell us which model/colour you would pick, etc). Any new comment will be eligible for the draw as long as it isn't offensive. I'm hoping to run the draw mid next week around June 16th unless I start a big trip before then in which case it will be after.

@@alivia4907 I reported several instances, but it's pretty much impossible to fight as an individual. YT needs to work on this. And it's sad that it's the naive or vulnerable who fall for these sort of things.

in years past, while camping and portaging with my spouse, there were nights after particularly hard days where a tent would be preferred; its nice to have a partner in the sleeping bag. I did see some tent hammocks in the past, much more rigid frame; but never tried one. If I win the thing please donate it to any young person who's into camping but cannot afford one; I definitely have been in that situation from time to time.

My wife and I both bought one, honestly just on John’s experience he shared, so a bit of a risk as there were very few reviews at the time.
One year in and we are dying to get back into ours! It is the most comfortable sleep either of us has ever had, including our home bed.
Amazing quality, engineering, value, comfort, and all round value! Nothing else comes close!
Thanks John and Erin for introducing us!

Been eyeing this hammock for a while now as I have low back problems and tent camping is only getting more difficult for me to do. The idea of laying flat, bug free in the trees instead of having to get down low and get back up again is really appealing. Great channel BTW, someday when I get to move back to the north I hope to get in a fraction of the paddling you get to do!

Same here man. I don't have this beast, just a normal one but it's sooo comfortable. Never had back problems again camping. Just make sure you get an under-quilt or one where you can put a pad in, or your bum will get cold.

The two key things I've learned owning the Amok Draumr is 1) you definitely want their inflatable pad, not some thermarest or something else; their pad is critical to comfort in this hammock, and 2) pull the hammock lines tight and I mean tight otherwise you will get a burrito effect. But with their pad and good, tight lines this bed is glorious for chronic back pain sufferers like me!

  • @Wordsnwood

I'd go with red... kind of wish the tarps came in brighter colours. For camping, I like bright colours.
As for a question --- what are the weight limits? I know they're meant for one person for sleeping, but can they handle a cosy couple for just hanging out or cuddling?

I know seeing you use the Amok Draumr repeatedly on your trips that it works superior to a tent - or you wouldn’t be bringing it. It also speaks to the quality of the product & design. A great hammock tent for great Northern Ontario adventures! Stay Wild

Hey Jon, great giveaway! I’m turning 50 this year and i think the Amok hammock might be the solution to alleviating many of the aches and pains that come along with tent camping. It certainly ticks all the boxes! Looking forward to more great content. BTW, in between the new stuff, I’m also now enjoying your earlier videos. Raw, authentic trip reports with lots of creative humour. Cheers!

I always thought hammock camping seemed uncomfortable and awkward until I saw you and Erin in your Draumrs in your videos. Definitely seems to open up your campsite options. Thanks for sharing this and all of your canoeing adventures!

Wow. I would love to try camping in a hammock. The old bones aren’t as soft as they used to be!
    Yellow is my Draumer colour!☀️

I'm a long time gathered end hammock camper. Being a side sleeper in my own bed, this is a difficult position for me in my hammock. I'd love the Draumr XL for the step up in comfort. Canoe camping makes it so that weight isn't an issue. Good luck everyone. Someone is going to be Very happy with their new hammock.

Love the yellow! I've had an XL on my wishlist since I first saw it here. It can be difficult to find flat ground for a tent in NWO but I can't go a whole night without sleeping on my side. One day I will have one... Maybe sooner rather than later! Tight Lines!

I am tempted to try one of these for weekend camping in the Adirondacks. Seems like the perfect balance of comfort and ease of packing. Thanks for the review!

Been following you since the backcountry angling days. My wife and I now have a dog so a gathered end hammock won’t work. Won’t want to switch to tent. So we found the Amok. Dived into research. Pleasantly surprised during my search to be reminded that you put out so much good content on this product. We’re ordering the full shebang, double hammock with pads and tarp. Donating our old set up to my college-age brother in law

I love the sage green color. Blends well. As a side sleeper and avid reader/rocker this is the perfect camping set up for me. The only concern I had was the balancing and you explained that well. I would LOVE to use this hammock on my horse camping trips. Thank you for explaining how this amazing hammock works! Great Job

Great video! Concise, to the point, zero fluff just like all your content. I was just camping this past weekend and realizing my old tent (and me) are getting a bit long in the tooth. May be time for a switch to hammock camping! Though I do wonder what I would do with my canine camping buddy...

First saw Xander use the Amok, then found your channel through his and saw you using it. You guys are both amazing; love your videos.
I've never slept in a hammock before, but absolutely loved the portion of your video where you showed looking out from under the protection of the tarp, watching the rain during a rainstorm. Nature's sedative right there. Truly awesome!

I got into camping in the past year in part due to videos from Lost Lakes but also my girlfriend we have both been curious about trying hammock camping and eyeing these up for a while. We are still new to backcountry camping (I am new to camping in general) thanks for all the great videos and tips along our journey learning to be more Intune with the outdoors!

My daughter and I take a lot of inspiration from your videos and have taken more opportunity to get out Canoeing ourselves over the last couple of years. An Amok would be a great upgrade from our super cheap and basic tent although another purchase would likely follow as we'll need two if it's as comfy as you seem to find it. Thanks for all you do.

Love my 5.0 ultralight. It was pretty warm with a exped downmat in the low teens and crazy wind. Planning to get a standard for cold winter days and keep the UL for spring/fall

Definitely looks like a game changer in the hammock world!! I usually backcountry camp in a little 2 person tent which hasn't been too bad, but I can see the advantages this thing brings and the weight is about the same as my tent!

I've switched to hammock camping a few years ago and converted my son to hammocks as well. I much prefer the hammock to a tent. I like the idea on the Draumr and hope to be able try one one day. Thanks for your videos, I watch every one and enjoy your outings. Cheers from Northern Ontario
