    Looking really good. How good can a really great product be. It’s nice to see that they listen to the users, and probably also use their own products in the right environment, and change even small “enjoying” things like the storage pouch. 👍

    Seems like You are ready for some Braap&Camp Thomas! Nice set up. I've not slept in the 5.0 XL or UL XL yet since they came today. But I,ve tried a prototype of the UL last year. Really nice with UL and the lower weight and pack volume, still need to test it in less good weather 😁. The Draumr 5.0 will be so nice to compare it. Mine is in the new blue and much sleepier color ☝️😁 Damn now it's time get out of the hibernation and sleep outdoors like a king 🤠🍺🔥

      I want to get out there so bad... But winter has not completely let go yet, so we have had a lot of new salt and some snow the last couple of days. Hope to see more stable weather in the weeks to come. If I'm lucky I will take my bike out for a braap and camp in easter. I have not tested the UL properly yet, only the normal XL... and I have to say. It feels more cozy with the new bug net. Keeps the temp much better inside the hammock. Haha, red is the only way to go mate... just look. at your mosko jacket 🤣 I'm gonna make new hang ups in the roof of my living room so I can use it for sleeping dinner and sloyd work inside in the future 😇

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is the same size... The same XL fjøls go in both. But I think it is just something about the see trough material. There is just something different when laying in both. I would highly recommend going for the Skjold 10 over the regular skjold. The small size difference makes a huge difference when the weather is poor.

    The Amok looks extremely comfortable! My only concern with hammocking is where to put all the riding gear, shoes, helmet, riding suite, etc. Don’t want to leave them under it, and typically there is not enough space for those in the panniers. Any good suggestions? Maybe idea for next video? 😀

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The riding gear I leave on the ground or hang over a ridget line I pitch next to the amok. The helmet I leave on the mirror like I would when I leve the bike in any other place. Just put the visor down if you get rain in the night. No problem at all.

    • @DustyVisorMotorcycles
      @DustyVisorMotorcycles 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The beauty of a hammock, is all the extra space underneath. Gear goes there, and keep the fly (tarp) low if you are expecting rain.........

      Well, it is more where i think i will be located in Norway, For a week here, and you are going to Trollstigen, you will have much better luck at camp sites with a tent, compared to a hammock. If you plan on wild camping you and don’t care to much about where you sleep, i could bring a hammock. But your safest bet is to take the tent. Cheers ☕️

    I would love to use one of these, but theres not many campsite in the UK you could hang one up. Great idea though, so easy and quick to setup. Here’s a question for you though Thomas, how safe are they in a lightning ⛈ storm?

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I think these are just as safe as any tent or other similar gear in a lightning storm. To bad there is not better options to camp in the UK... feel for you guys. Is there only campsites that are allowed to camp in over there?

    • @hovishill2779
      @hovishill2779 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@tshansen its illegal to wild camp in the UK, except for Scotland and one National Park in England (Dartmoor). You can camp anywhere if you get permission (all land in the UK is owned by someone). I’ve never been to a campsite in the UK that has trees that you could hang a hammock from (although I’m sure they’ll be some). It’s also illegal to carry knife with a blade that is 3 inches or more in length without a very good reason (camping is not a good enough reason) and the blade cannot lock either. If you get caught with a knife you can get upto 5 years in prison. I have a Leatherman Wave in my toolkit on my bike, which I’ve had to remove all the blades to be legal. I watch your and Mattias vids and laugh when I see you guys with your knifes and axes. We have crazy laws in the UK that only affect the law abiding citizens.

      @@hovishill2779 HI, thanks for mentioning this and thanks for stopping by. I was not aware of these tough laws in UK either. In Sweden we have laws against carrying knifes and such as well. But camp, hike, being in the wild is a allowable reason. I certainly know that we have differences in what's allowed regards wild camp. In Scandinavia except Denmark we have a right to roam law that allow us to walk, hike, forage, camp a night or two on a spot even on private owned land. This works as long we not miss use the right. Ofc it's a good idea to talk to the landowner and never camp in sight of their house/garden. A rally nice privilege that we need to use wisely. Happy trails Hovis!

To me it seems like its shape/size/thinkness is kind of importantm not only for insulation, but for the overall performance of the hammok.
