Total bs. If a tractor trailer rammed a fully loaded flatbed at high speed it would do a hell of a lot more damage than just a headlight. Likely the truck would have been disabled, lost a front tire ect.

Such a great movie, I remember my uncle recorded it for me and was upsest with it, I went back to school telling all my friends and found it at walmart for 10$ vhs days lol
Was the version your Uncle taped any different? I just saw this today on AMC just flipping channels, it was right before the jump and I thought the close-ups of the actors were different, then when the Camaro gets back on the road passes the camera it fishtails which it doesn't do in this video or my copy, then in the next chase with the trucks, its a lot longer, there's a lot more dialogue between Earl and Jack over the CB a much longer scene of Junior catching up to Jack, even a close up of the speedo showing about 70, much more of the two trucks side by side, and much more angles of the explosion, a little more of Tommy J Huff, trying to stop his truck right before hitting the motor home and also more angles of the crash. Even the next chase with the dirt bikes is extended: much of them shooting at the truck and a quick shot of Red passing by the two bikes and the dead guy right befor he starts fire his gun. None this is on my copies and it on both DVD and video, so this stuff seems to only be in the TV version I guess
3:51 for those of you who have never driven a petsrbilt or are not mechanically inclined that is the clutch he's slamming on not the brake don't believe me Google the inside of a 1994 peterbilt 379 and you'll see for the record this is one of my favorite movies of all time
Why did the Camaro fix itself? Because movies are shot out of order. How does the Monte Carlo explode? It's an action movie. Stuff goes boom. Why did the cars have rollcages? I don't know, maybe to protect the stunt drivers.
damn they didn't go easy on that 3rd gen! the first time the get out of the green park you can see they change the wheel in the grass they almost have slicks on it or truck size and back on the road the factory size tires! :) in a way i love it!
I've seen this movie lots of times and had no idea Carey Loftin did some of the stunts. But I'm not surprised though because he was a true master of his craft. I've read his IMDB page and he had his fingers in everything lol

Only one trucker movie had the genuine article driving in this movie. Patrick Swayze drove on and for his grandfather's farm in Texas as a teenager. RIP Patrick.
Being the car is brown, it was repainted and being 10 years or so old at the time those good ole boys coulda swapped in a 400sbc or something of the like.

Caterpillar all the way, these are guys who build engines that move construction equipment much heavier than even a fully loaded rig, they know their stuff.
I seen this movie a couple times up in Georgia when i was growing up in the early 2000's, funny thing is this movie came out the year i was born. Now i know what the name of this movie is now
i think they took some inspiration from white line fever (1975) 1. the beginning where a song plays with a truck going across camera, weak but hold on. 2. one of the pursuers has a shotgun 3. main truck slams a truck around. im not gonna count the ending of both chases. i just basically got reminded of that chase.
Most of this action scene right here believe it or not was filmed in Scotland County North Carolina which is in the deep South of North Carolina I travel that way Saturday and didn’t realize it until later on

I think it's a f350 because it's a crew cab and a long bed and 4wd but the engine it either has the 351 or the 460 and it's not a diesel because it's to quiet to be a diesel
This movie is great but there is every thing wrong with it like how did the car get fixed so fast from the front when it looked destroyed.i can go on and on but that is all I want to say.
Movies aren't typically shot in order, so little inconsistencies like that often go unnoticed during filming. Now days, they use CGI to cover up the discrepancies, or just have the entire action scene be CG.
Yes I noticed it because Patrick swayze is really driving that truck before he passed away he did possess a class A CDL before he became famous he used to drive a truck and the reason they repair the light is because it would not be legal for him to drive like that
1. Even A semi truck could not ram a fully loaded flatbed at full speed and only get a broken headlight. There would be easily enough damage to disable the truck 2. The Monte Carlo would not violently explode rear ending the back of the truck. It would be totaled but no explode like it got shot with a rocket launcher
Movie bullshit. Idc if it’s a Pete, freightliner western star ect. Ramming a fully loaded medium sized truck at full speed would break the axial and possibly rip off the front wheel not to mention engine damage that would no doubt disable the truck.
Awful movie. But I worked on it and got to be a stunt double for that white dude in the blue car. Not in this scene though. We shot in North Georgia. 😊
2:43-4:20 Who knew that 379 Peterbilts are downright durable? Jack smashed into the flatbed in front of him & it only took out the 379's passenger side headlight & bumper light. Not to mention that afterwards, he continued driving like nothing happened.
Completely fake. They used multiple trucks to film this because NO truck could sustain as much damage as it did in the movie and continue to run. If a Pete rammed a fully loaded flatbed like that the whole front would have been trashed and it would grind to a stop shorty after.
