    I greatly appreciate your videos. I’ve watched this video multiple times back when I first started the hobby. Now that I have more knowledge on the Hobby I’m rewatching and wow. So much information thank you for documenting all of this. I’m trying to get my family into the hobby and your videos are amazingly helpful. Thank you!!

    I got 2 for 25$ off Craigslist and they run great. I need to figure out a cheap steering fix, or lack of steering. I don’t think this car worth putting that much money into but as long as your having fun and you like it, do it! Love the video! You did a good job!

      hey!! So let me give you an update on this, all your obvious steering issues will never go away, I have tried everything so far. I even got the adjustable metal turnbuckles all around, and they are such awful quality that you will have even more slop than using the stock plastic links. It seems every youtuber on here other than me does vids on these in order to just BS you and sell parts through affiliate links. But let me tell you right now, no point in upgrading these at all. Just run as is. Only good upgrade is to get the 1/10 scale wheel hub conversion so you can run generic touring car wheels.

    Rcmodsquad did a video on streatching the tie rods. All you need is a heat gun and patience. Or purchase adjustable tie rods. This removes the slop in the front tires.

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hey man!! thanks for watching. I eventually purchased a set of aluminum adjustable turn-buckles all around (including steering tie-rods) What can I say, it became even worse. First of all metal threaded into metal is a terrible idea, it requires a lot of threadlock to keep from turning out. Second, the ball-ends which the screwes are threaded into are terrible, they have more slop than the stock plastic. I am fully surprised that nobody on youtube has mentioned this, makes me think they are unaware and lying.

    I have the 2 x A959 (Truggy version) upgraded to 'B' motor, then back down the 380 motor. I put the A979 wheels on it - much better! The stock steering is hopeless. Lots of toe out! Adding some adjustable tie rods to the steering allows adjustment to a bit of toe in... along with ball bearings most of the slop shown is removed and it steers quite well. I could hold full throttle with the 540. A 540 motor is way too big for this model - the 380 is lighter and far more suited to the size of the car and not so hard on the battery. They break a lot. I have big box of spares ready to go. Even if you upgrade everything they are still a cheap design made of cheap plastic which breaks easily. They are a fun car/buggy but you could have something better for the money+upgrades. Good article on the cheap RC / ESC upgrades - I have some old Tamiya Hornets that will work nicely with your upgrades - many thanks hybrid32494!

    Do you know the rating of the BDESC-S10E? It says 320A but that can't really be correct. Do you have any idea what amperage of ESC you need based on whatever battery size you're using?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey buddy, I know, the 320A rating must be the Burst Amp rating and not the Continuous. Anyway, what matters is the amount of discharge (C) a lipo can deliver continuous and at a burst once in a while. I usually run no more than 30C in these cheap RCs. The stock lipos that come with these are rated at 20C continuous. In more high end 60-80A rated ESC you can safely run 50C packs. Chances are the tiny lipos made to fit these models won't ever be over 35C discharge anyway, unless you get some high end lipos.

    • @Funcentric
      @Funcentric 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hybrid32494 A higher C rating battery won't hurt the ESC though. It's just he RPM it generates that would harm the motor. I guess what you're saying is that motors on these small budget RC's won't need anything beyond 30C. Anything larger would not be utilized and a waste in the extra cost of the battery. Running 50C or even 100C battery does no harm.

      hello, you don't need to do any special service or maintenance to the stock esc in these. You just run the original equipment and battery and it will be fine. Run time will vary, about 8-15 min. When your battery is low the ESC will just cut power.

      maybe you need to slow it down a little. The motors will always get warm, mine does not get too hot though. Depends. Generally the battery will be depleted before you can over heat it though. Let me know. Just take it a little easy and see how it responds.

    Hello! I have an unrelated question to this vehicle. It’s relating to the wltoys a959b model. I am trying to replace the front shock tower but one of the screws is completely stripped/ has no ability to turn using a philips head. I’ve tried using the rubber band technique, but still no luck. What do you recommend I do?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey bro! I just looked at my own model to see how to help you out. You could push the screw out from the back of the shock tower. I know, those screws strip almost instantly inside the plastic itself. Anyway, take a very small hex driver and just push from the back while also unscrewing the front. IT should come out easy. Let me know if that works for you.

    • @nikhilbhatt9114
      @nikhilbhatt9114 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hybrid32494 hello! I think I’m referring to the bottom screws which are philips. Not the top 2 holding the shocks which are hex. One of the bottom screws ( there are 4 of them), is stripped. I can’t access the other side to remove the screw at all as there is nothing. How can I send you a picture ?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ok, I see what you mean. You might have to just insert a flathead screwdriver where the two pieces fit and then pry it apart. Worst case scenario you will just upgrade to an aluminum part. Or you can just use a larger screw next time, it will still be fine. Those WlToys parts are just not meant to be disassembled multiple times, you know. Those tiny screws constantly get stuck in the plastic.

      hey man, congrats on the brushless system, you're gonna love it. You can use any small scale micro servo. I just happen to have the TOWERPRO MG950S around. Don't worry too much about the servo, I would honestly get a different one in your case. The one I used I would not use again (it has a very small amount of free play at all times). All these micro servos are cheap nowadays anyway.

But now the servo has no strength to turn the wheels. 1- If I put the servo that you have put in, will the problem be solved? 2- can I put only the servo? or do I have to also put ESC 3- will it work for me with the station that the car brought? • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey buddy! Good question. The answer is no, It performed the same. These systems are generally limited by the discharge rating of the battery more than they are by the ESC or motor. Meaning the Lipo cannot deliver such a high discharge at one time. A higher "C" rated lipo would be more effective for that.
