An FYI for people without the original charger: My alta was dead, like black screen dead. I don't have the charger it came with, but I figured the button he shows in the vid is just cutting off the charge when you press it. So I unplugged and replugged the USB part of the charger three times (within the 4 seconds like he said) to the wall charger box, and I got the fitbit logo and version number just like in the vid. It's charging now! Thank you for the vid!!!

My daughter is finally using Fitbit Alta, I had trouble connecting via Bluetooth until the I saw the reset button.In all the years of having this Fitbit Alta, I never knew there was one.I pushed the button for time and like magic it connected.Thanks!!

For the last couple of months it seemed like it needed to be charged more often, but once the screen started going blank it was hard to get it to charge at all. I left it plugged in once for 4 days, fearing all was lost but then it came back on, all on its own. Then it finally went completely blank & nothing would bring it back to life. I moved it to other usb ports, cleaned the contacts (charger & watch) wiggled & tapped it up the wazoo, left it on the charger for days and still nothing. When it died for the last time there was still 75% battery showing and when I used the reset button on the charger (I had NO idea it had one!) the screen instantly came back on (MIRACLE!) & it's still showing 75% charge. The jury's still out if this is but a short-term reprieve or the tracker's 2nd wind but I'll take it! Thanks so much!!

Aarohi Gupta if this is your first time owning a Fitbit, you have to make doubly sure the clip at the charging cord is positively connected. They can look like they are bu t are not. Good luck

This is a great video but when I restarted it my battery appeared to be really low... was that a bug or could my battery display of been wrong before. Also, my Alta still won't sync to my phone do you have any tips that could help. Your videos are really informative and make sense so it would be great if you could help. Thank you. 😊
Hi Vince my Fitbit Alta HR works but it is so dim that it looks white not bright and blue like shown on your video. How can I fix this or what could be the problem? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you Julie.
My Alta HR is not working properly and I've tried the main reboot. What is happening is that I want to change an alarm but everytime I try to do this it kicks me out of the system. I've tried ditching the app and reinstalling it. TUrning off blue tooth etc nothing seems to work. Am I going to need to buy a new machine?

but after 3 times reset still remain occasionally dead mode + battery forever in medium + dim display. something wrong with the Alta firmware (v21)
