This big, old-school, gas guzzling dinosaur is...............my dream vehicle. Ideally, in 2 or 3 years I can pick up a 2020.
Engine start/stop, cylinder deactivation, hybrids, and twin turbo's can go to hell.

I love it too Fred. Thanks for watching. Great smooth and powerful engine. Great looking, so comfortable, and will last you a long time.

We've owned a 2008 since it was new. We have 300K on it. VERY dependable, BUT VERY OUTDATED. HORRIBLE mpg compared to other SUV's in its class today. Radio system is one of the worst we've ever owned. We were gonna buy a new one, but Toyota seems to bastardize this model, maybe due to the fact its the lowest selling vehicle in the Toyota line up. Toyota updates the Tundra far more often, which is regrettable. We'll get it repainted and keep it as a back up/extra vehicle. But they lost a new sale, since we went with the new 2022 Lincoln Navigator with its 30 way seats, which is far more luxurious than any Toyota and better mpg too.

I know. He snores a lot. The sound proofing is very good in the sequoia.

leaving the blank switches for features not included for the current trim (air conditioned seats) is pretty shit... lmao. just a constant reminder of what you didn't get.... hahaha

Yeah that is just part of todays world and mass production. I agree, but It's in $100k + vehicles too. Thanks for watching Sly.

Finally, someone who speaks the truth about the fuel mileage difference with or without cylinder deactivation. When you actually analyze 87 octane, 5.7L port injection (not direct), 6speed transmission, buttoned up with 4.30 rear axle. The fuel mileage and the way this thing accelerates is perfect. I love our TRD Sport.

Appreciate that. I try to tell it like it is. Glad you like your TRD Sport. Great trucks.

For the purposes of having a 4.30 rear axle, an 8-10 speed trans is superior.

I have the 2021 limited nightshade in blizzard pearl. We love it. We tested out the yukon, lexus gx, and escalade. Nothing beats this true engine and less failures of mechanical and electronics. Not to mention it has so many safety features and simple controls. I didnt even need to buy extended warranties but I would if it was the other three mentioned.

Looking at 2021 TRD Pros and the prices are pretty nuts...or is this the norm for this beauty of a beast? 52k miles and asking $57k. Another one is 72k miles and asking $51k.

16%-17% difference in fuel economy over 100k miles is a big deal. Chances are it obliterates its maintenance cost advantage over the domestics.

Great review. I'm definitely looking at getting the TRD Pro or the Platnium in the near future. I'll take less electronics and a proven platform over deactivation and having too much electronics in a truck anyday.

Thank you so much. They are all nice I just prefer the look and ride of the TRD Pro. I am really thinking that this is my favorite even over the upcoming 23 model.
