Holy. Shit. Normally, while I enjoy a good video game cover song, I often feel they lack the emotional weight of the original. And when I saw what this song was... I was hesitant to listen to it. In the many, many years that I've played video games there hasn't been a track that just *hit* like this one did; it was the perfect end to a story that was almost a decade long, a journey of ups and downs... But... Wow. Just wow. This absolutely and entirely nails it. The power of the riffs, the soaring vocals... Amazing. Utterly amazing.
What is super impressive with FFXIV that I think a lot of games and especially mmos can learn from is how they thematically connect everything. Perfect example is the end of Shadowbringers. They just lined everything up and hit all the nerves one after another. Not just the story, but it all connected down to the lyrics playing in the background. It was probably the most epic gaming moment I’ve ever experienced. Endwalker does the same in such a classy and well thought out way. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the writers and developers and I am glad the game is getting the attention it deserves

"The Maker's Ruin", a re-arranged version of which is the part of "With Hearts Aligned" before the lyrics, has always been basically the Warrior of Light's 'boss theme'. It signals our moments of triumph, it plays when the big bad done goofed, the Warrior of Light gets serious and we're about to drive a boot propelled by Hydaelyn's blessing into evil's butt.

Ok, that was awesome. Great job. I returned to FFXIV a few months before Endwalker. Played through the whole game and finished the MSQ just a few weeks before Endwalker dropped. Then played through that. It was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. And the music was a big part of it.

But while I'm sure you get a lot of compliments on your screaming and electric guitar, I want to commend you for your beautiful voice. I know this song largely has the guest singer being the one singing, but when I was listing to your covers for A Beautiful Song and The Rumbling, I was blown away by how you can go from a gruff metalhead voice to a beautifully sounding normal voice at the drop of a hat. You guys are awesome!
