: I just used your directions to replace the headlight assembly on my 1996 Bronco and I have to say, your way is ridiculously simpler than pulling the grill and the support and all that other crap. Super easy.
Used your method with a slight revision. I reused the oem headlight hardware. Much better quality metal screws than the replacements. Took two small screw drivers to lift the tabs higher than the stops on the headlight then turned the threaded sockets 90 degrees and removed them. Put the three oem threaded sockets in the new headlights. Then just screwed the original screws back in. If you notice the threads you'll be able to see how far they were originally installed because of exposure discoloration. The aim seemed fine upon completion.
I personally find your way harder simply because once you get the bezels off( usually by far the hardest part of the job)the grill has five screws and the plastic filler is easy to remove 7 or 8 8 mm bolts the clips are simple no special tool needed just pry the little retaining hooks out of the groves and push them out
Removing the grill and the underlying support would probably be faster than the amount of adjustment you will need to do to your new setup. The clips are near impossible to remove without removing the support.
Mine was literally perfect with no after-adjustment aka LUCK. However, one side was protruding too far, so I ran all 3 screws the same amount to recess it where it was flush.
They were cheap Ebay stuff. I put LED bulbs in, the brightest ones I could find and the road is still dim. I added two small LED low profile lights in the grill for more light when nobody's coming. The entire vehicle is black now except for the key holes, antenna base and blue ovals. Got the windshield mildly tinted, it is DARK in there. The Bronco looks awesome.

I just match them together for hight and aim of light bastards good job sir I have 1993 F-150 XL 4x4 standard minus 35 here

Do you have a before and after shot of what these look like? What kind did you get?

Also installed 4" Rough Country susp lift, black wheels, and 33x12.50's. Motor upgrade coming soon.
Sorry buddy, will there be a way to adapt the headlights to a model 87?
Never fooled with the lights on that model. I would assume they're different than this.
