Hello at 16:55 you add Conversion ID in both Conversion ID field and Conversion label. Is it correct?

OMG. you are absolutely right. thank you pointing it out. I'll pin this comment for future people who are configuring the Gads remarketing tag and I'll update a note on the blog.

Hi, you can check a few things in this order:
      1. check if the dataLayer event for Purchase has fired.
      2. check if the Gads tags for purchase has fired on purchase dataLayer event
      3. check if the status of the Gads tag is "fired"
      4. check if the conversion ids and conversion labels are correct.

Is this way tracks the conversion event even if the customer didn't reach the order-recieved page?
Does it pull the data though?

Hi. It depends on the redirect. How the user is going to the new ThankYou page. I have seen that using the plugin “ThankYou pages for woocommerce” works fine.

hi i have used the same info to setup purchase events but data layer is not pickingup the order attributes on thankyou page while they are being pulled on add to cart events and no purchase event is fired in GTM container but present on adword container. I couldn't identified the reason. can you plz help me? I found you great in all stuff you shared here.

Hi, the plugin we are using is GTM4WP, it works with the default configuration of WooCommerce. I have noticed with my past clients, that when we have unusual redirect for a different ThankYou page, or a plugin that routes the user to thankyou page, it causes issues.

@@TrackingAcademy Thank you so much for your response. this is really I want to know from you this extension works well with all e-commerce event except thankyou page and data layer do not push the arguments to order total, Transaction ID and currency. I have made a code-level change to google ad snippet. aw what would you do in this situation? I really LOVE your videos and blog posts that is really really useful specially shopify conversion tracking code is very very useful. very clear communication, to the point and authentic knowledge all the time Big thumbs up for your work and giving me an immediate answer.

In some cases where the purchase dataLayer is not working as intended. I just write a PHP Code that create a custom event "gtm_purchase" and then use WooCommerce hooks "woocommerce_checkout_order_processed" to pull data from order object and push to the dataLayer. This works for me. Else if the client has a developer, I just request them to add a purchase event dataLayer. The 3rd and last option are scraping the DOM element, which I avoid at all cases, but its an option.

So basically after doing all of this we can start using the Purchase conversion in our google ads? Thanks!

That's right, you can now start using the Purchase conversion in your ads campaigns. This client side tracking works fine for most users. However if the store is in EU or have more apple iOS users, you can go for server side tracking
