That sucks that the door seal was damaged bro, my Miata’s both door seals are like that but are even worse, on the driver side one only two clips fully go down the rest won’t. The passenger one looks like your damaged one but has 4 of those stupid bump things where the metal rail got bent. For $150 you would think they would package those things better! Hope you get a replacement for free 🤞
I have this exact car. My windows are stuck halfway down. I'm willing to follow your video but I need the tools to take the bolts off. If you read this please tell me what I need to remove the bolts and turn any of the screws or whatever they're called. I'll buy them and try to do this myself. Thank you! Since I have this exact car, do you have a restoration playlist for this project I can save?
Good stuff to know, I've always known the power windows tend to go slow but I never knew it was THAT slow. I'm glad there's a fix for it. Maybe I might opt for a 1.6 NA Miata that doesn't have a short nose crank but has a manual roll down of the windows. A little arm exercise won't hurt lol. Don't know any 1.8s that have it or not. Either way thanks for the video. This might come in handy if I get one with power windows and I run into this problem. Edit: Just saw another comment that has this problem with the manual windows too. Those bushings must really go fast.
It’s not that the bushings go out really fast, but more is it that no one really swaps them out, they just deal with it haha 1.6 long nose or 1.8 you’ll love either one
Dude im stoked to see what y'all do bout the seat belts nxt time. That's a mod i deff need to do. I have all blk interior in my NB and the seat belts r a sun bleached grey/mildewie shiz show. I need to get on that so curious to see that vid 4 sho
That sucks, when I got mine painted they bent those window trims up as well and broke like half of the clips, I spent a long time getting them presentable again
do you know if those bolts will be exposed if the window doesn't roll down? i can get my driver side down about a quarter before it grinds to a halt. I was hoping there was an easy way to try to grease the rails or clean it... looks like i'll have to be removing the glass though
I definitely need to do this to my '91 Jeep XJ. The rear windows the interior door trim folds inward and slows down the windows. But the front ones need lube for sure.
It is possible but it’s not a super easy install The easiest way is to take the whole harness and switch box and window regulators out of a parts car and swap it all over to yours
It was definitely the bushings they were missing hahaha but next time I have my center console off I’ll definitely try it I bet they’ll go even faster after that
@@SpiritDriven I agree, mine turned out great! Although I used PlastiDip spray after peeling off the flaky black plastic and sanding it with an emery board (nail file) which is the perfect size.
One time I got pulled over and when the cop got to my window my window was still rolling he laughed and gave me a warning.
Lol love that 😂
Bro I swear every time I wanna fix something on my miata y’all come out with the video for it😂 Thanks Sal!!!
YEEEEE 🤙🏼🤙🏼 knock it out
You're tackling all the jobs I need to do, and clear and easy to follow too. Top channel!
Thanks so much!!!
I had the same problem my window take forever to go down! Thanks for the video I will now try it hope it will fix it
That’s a nice 95M! I’ve got one myself and my window is really slow too, glad I found someone with the same problem 😂
Loved that colour and interior. I think they called it Icon in UK.
6:47 "Can I get a large venti mocha with no ice" hahahaha burst out laughing.
Love the videos as always Sal!
My Starbucks ordering skills are a bit weak 😂
Slow moving windows are extra badass! Make'm wait! 😆
@@skyrider4789 😂😂😂
I love coming back to these videos when I have issues installing these windows, y’all help every time
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Taking my miata to the shop today to get this high idling issue figured out.
Ooooh lemme know what the fix for it is!
@@SpiritDriven bet.. I think I got you on Instagram.
Excited for the next video ! Always learning from them. You guys make everything look easy. Keep up the good videos guys ! :)
Oh man next video I was so pumped on, might take a turn tho, still waiting for the part to be shipped back to us

It was gettin to me later on in the video lol
Just ordered a replacement today
You can buy nylon washers from home depot for the low.
This is so much nicer! I gotta do it as well
Crazy how much faster they are
Wasn’t expecting it to go that quick
Ok thank you bro, that is actually slow like mine, so now I'm paying attention!!

Dude we just got them in last night, they look waaaaaaay better
Can’t wait to put them back In on Sunday 😩
100% gonna do this for the blue Miata too
I need to do this for my manual windows, it’s getting tougher and togher to roll them down
I’m willing to bet your bushings are gone just like ours 😂
Mine too
If you want even faster, maruha has motors/regulators that are slightly faster than factory
Thanks! Never knew about them. Will definitely have to make a video on this for the NB build 🤘🏼
Just found them! Gonna have to try them out!
@@SpiritDriven yeah they claim 2 seconds up or down. That's faster than my 2013 Subaru LOL
@@8145dwerdna oh dang lol that is fast

does anyone know if there’s a cleaner or easier-to-remove alternative than tar for sealing the moisture barrier?

Nothin a little grease can’t fix 👌🏼👌🏼
Don't those kits come with another nylon washer and a wavy washer?
Technically yes but they work without them so imma say they didn’t 😈
Make sure to wish Alena Happy Biordday!
I will! Thanks Craig!
this is besides the point but that car is so pretty.
Thank you 😊
I have a ‘91 with manual windows. Is it possible to put power windows in?
It is possible but it’s not a super easy install

greattt videoooo
🥲 thank you brotha

My window trim is like plastic now you can Litterally pic it off and it breaks like a
Chip, surface rust where it’s gone :(
That’s why I sprayed ours with bedliner! Same thing 😂
Honestly tho you’ll really appreciate it once you replace them
I always stare at mine now
@@SpiritDriven I agree, mine turned out great! Although I used PlastiDip spray after peeling off the flaky black plastic and sanding it with an emery board (nail file) which is the perfect size.
Under 30$ mama says he paid 150 for a trim
You didn’t plug in the tweeter lol
We found out a few days later
My windows go up however fast I crank them lol
My windows are a lot faster. Actually, mine are infinitely variable., because they’re manual.😂
Can you guys adopt me?
You all are our children whatcha mean?!
@@SpiritDriven ima need some Miata parts dad 👀🤣
@@jesusochoa3721 😂😂
Still slow lmao
Bruh
Idk man I just sprayed guitar string oil and it moves faster than that and it proctects it from rusting on the rails
@@deibyfilms3681 I mean that’s a good idea but these bushings were shot regardless
