  • Months after David Harrington, Clayton McGeeney and Ricky Johnson were found dead in a Kansas City backyard, their families continue to plead for answers. Harrington's mother reportedly wants Jordan Willis, who allegedly gave the three men illegal drugs prior to their death, to face charges. Alan McGeeney, McGeeney's cousin, joins NewsNation's Elizabeth Vargas to discuss.

      It's the scariest thing for a person to find their loved one like that
      My mom and I found my sister in her bed odeeing
      Just one of the scariest days of my life to see her like that and of course our mom
      She was very lucky to have survived
      Unlike my brother who didn't survive from it back in 2017
      Nobody should ever put themselves through that or put their family through that

      I agree! My brother died of a fentanyl overdose in 2017, he lived in pain and bc of the opioid crisis he was abruptly taken off his pain medication after the 2016 guidelines went into effect. Doctors and pharmacist are scared to prescribe because everyone is playing doctor. Later that year he tried committing suicide which landed him in the ICU and he lived almost another year. My mom is grieving as am I, but my mom wants charges pressed on the ppl that was with my brother and didn’t call the police until hours after he passed. They said they were asleep, but my mom just doesn’t believe them. I understand being a mother myself. My brother & I was very close being the oldest of 6 and it’s hard, but I can’t keep blaming others but I respect my mom’s feelings. His birthday was May 6th which is the same date we lost my grandma (my mom’s mother) and it’s really rough. Later the CDC came out and said those guidelines weren’t meant to be a law, but just guidelines and people are turning to the streets, committing suicide or living in misery because doctors are really scared to help pain patients. It’s sad 😔 I’ve even seen cancer patients denied pain care. I wish the DEA and other law enforcement agencies would focus on the illicit fentanyl crisis and stop putting innocent doctors in jail/prison just for treating some of the worst pain conditions in the world. That man has a beautiful heart and I’m so sorry for all of there losses 💔

      As a mother of a young man who formerly used drugs , I always knew it was his choice. I was prepared for a “ terrible news “ call. They were partying and unfortunately they had no idea that would happen. Blaming the home owner is in my opinion not the solution. I doubt that young man wanted his friends to die that evening and he’s probably alive only because he stayed indoors.

    • @MashaT22
      @MashaT22 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah but what if they didn’t know they took drugs and the friend put it into something? I mean, people slip date rape drugs into drinks all the time. The friend could have done it as a joke when the three guys didn’t want to partake in his own habit (which has been documented at this point). He could have just popped whatever he brewed up in a lab into his friend’s food/drinks without them ever knowing just to be “funny” and then it cost them their lives. It’s not so far fetched when the friend was known to make illicit drugs at a lab where he worked. It just seems weird, especially when the friend has also given stories that don’t add up such as leaving out the front door without any footprint in the snow leading around to the back of the house outside, neighbors saying their cars were moved from where they initially were parked, etc. I really have to side with the mom and rest of the family here there are lots of little details that don’t add up with the guy’s accounts (which changed several times too, btw).

      Daisy, I'm guessing they were outside because it was likely a weed blunt that was laced and they weren't supposed to smoke inside the rental property. If they would have snorted laced coke they would be dead before they could make it outside. There's zero reaction time. The blunt wouldn't hit with such an immediate rush so they prob had a minute of feeling disoriented first and that's why two had been able to walk off the patio into the yard before collapsing but would have been within seconds prob under a minute. They would have to have died from the drug rather than exposure. Based on the temp that night, the drug would have worn off enough to wake up and clumsily walk inside if not a lethal dose but a lethal dose would be instant.
      The reason Jordan survived is either because he didn't smoke any of the laced blunt, possibly still took other drugs that night tho, or he did smoke it but was used to doing drugs more regularly than the others so he built up enough of a tolerance that it didn't take his life. Just made him pass out from the effects.

People smuggle drugs nonstop every day over our southern border. Do some research and see how much drugs are found each year and then take that times 10 at least and that is what is coming over our border. They can’t search every truck and car. But they certainly need to stop the constant flow back and forth. Absolutely no one needs to cross the border every day into the US. You also don’t realize that the people who come illegally have to pay the cartels and smugglers to get safe passage and then they are enlisted to smuggle drugs to pay back their debts. Exactly what happened to me. I dislocated finger playing softball and was prescribed lortabs. Now i was no teetotaler and i did my fair share of recdeational drugs but i was kind of a weekend warrior drinker/user. After my surgery the amount of ppl from work and some of my other friends who called me asking if i was prescribed painkillers was crazy. I did few of them and it just made me itchy so i gave them away. Few years later i experiamented with roxycodone and the muscle relaxer Soma. Took a few with couple beers and just felt amazing. I had good insurance and im sure could of gotten them prescribed by DR easily. But i didnt like the idea of feigning an injury or some pain and lying to a DR. So once a week i went to see this elderly lady who had serious knee and hip pain and she was prescribed hundreds of pills every month. Her door was just a revolving pill house from ppl coming and going all day.by that time ovbiously i knew i had major problem bcuz it took every ounce of energy just to drive to her house to get the pills and i felt so physically sick.soon as i bought them and got back to car and did a few i felt unstoppable and so eurphoric.i was spending about 600 a week on roxy and soma but you cant just stop.i knew nothing of rehab or treatment or anything regarding how to get help.i lost my house,great job and basically everything i worked for. Soon after i started smoking heroin bcuz its cheap. The roxy soma was much more intense so i didnt really get all the stigma around heroin.in the beginning. But do Heroin 2,3 dayz in a row and its just as bad. I was in a fog for good 7,8 years with pills and heroin. And i was exemplary employee,many friends etc. Those drugs literally suck the life out of you. Im blessed i didnt die to be honest.

  • @KatSpade1018

    What happened is very tragic but it is not Jordan's fault. Everyone was a grown adult that is responsible for their own decisions. On top of that, no one even knows which of them had the drug in the first place. Just because they were partying at Jordan's house doesn't mean he supplied all the drugs and alcohol. He's being blamed because he's the only one that survived to put the blame on. There is no blame. It was a decision by each individual that had an unfortunate outcome.
    Jordan is already going to be facing the loss of 3 close friends and survivor's guilt, I think that's enough without adding blame to the mix. Plus he's going to be reminded of all the fun times he had with them all football season every year with commercials and posters and merch. He's got a long difficult emotional road ahead of him.

    • @KatSpade1018
      @KatSpade1018 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@lynnhubbard844 Good question. Usually the shortest inpatient treatments are 28 days but in my opinion that's not enough time.
      It takes 28 days to break a bad habit "so they say". So you need time additionally to replace those with good habits. I think it only takes less than a week to form a habit. Wouldn't ya know it would take 3 or 4 times longer to break it. Lol
      If Jordan's addictions were serious I'd think he would still be there. I guess it depends on how serious he is about getting clean or if he only went in because his attorney suggested it due to public scrutiny and it looks better to a judge in case he gets charged for anything.
      The sad thing is that it usually takes at least 9 times of going to rehab before it finally sticks and they don't relapse and heroin is damn near impossible to stay clean from once you're addicted.
      I pray Jordan has success the first time around. He's got a difficult road ahead having to overcome the deaths of his three closest friends. If he did get released from rehab he's sure good at keeping it hidden from the public. You know the media is prob watching like vultures for him to be spotted somewhere. Hope they leave him alone so he can do what he needs to do.

    4. You give that pill to this person who trusts you.
    5. They perish.
    6. You betrayed them and everyone who truly cared about and loved them, whether was or wasn’t intent. And the more advantages and power you have in this world, the more that responsibility is amplified.
