Hi Stephanie! I always look forward to your updates so much! I was excited to see that you’re joining in the Colorwork Cuff Club. I’m enjoying making the patterns so much as well. I’m really looking forward to some cooler temperatures too, but I’m also really enjoying the beautiful late summer colors. 🌻~Amy
Zinnia Fan here…thanks for a peek! I too have FDF Sock Squad AND Summer Lee’s monthly “Box of Joy”!! Each year I debate whether to renew Sock Squad…FOMO..! I’m always glad I continued, because the colorways are always superb! Love your FDF + S. Lee combo! Temps are still pretty warm here, and I’m soooo ready for cooler weather! I’ve said this before & I’ll say again: your color choices are fabulous! No matter the season! I will peruse your Rav page or revisit the channel whenever I need color inspiration! I have lots of various colors/yarn, but I can’t make a cohesive selection. Once in a while I DO find a great combo! Thanks for new pattern/project ideas!
I love your podcasts. Lovely garments and tips. Oh the socks... so cute!!!! I decorate for Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. my 8 grandchildren still enjoy what I do... so I keep on doing it as my health allows me. :)
What a fly would hear if they were in the room while I was watching this video: - OMG! Stephanie looks like a beautiful bright flower! (re: your first outfit) - *gasp* those SOCKS!! (re: August colorwork cuff socks) - *GASP* THOSE socks!!!!!! (re: Sept colorwork cuff socks) - wombaattttsssss Lol how stinking cute. - that is the most beautiful collection of linen quill i've ever seen. - i gotta be careful listening to the baking segment.... now i want baked sweets - oooohh murder... thriller... that cover looks like it'd make a great sock. Hold placed; 70th in line. thanks for another great episode!! it was great "hanging out" with you. :)
I can 100% see/hear you saying/thinking these things lol. It's like a "reaction list" (people make reaction videos to things, like that's a thing right?). Anyway, what I'm saying is that you're the best and I'm grateful to have you in my life! Take care friend!~Stephanie
The color of your metropolitan pullover is just gorgeous! I agree, it's a new to me construction with doable pieces. The gauge is just glorious! I am going to a fiber festival in November and hoping to pick up more yarn for another one ;)
Love your crochet/knit Jethro, beautiful colors in Linen Quill. I'm currently knitting the Butterfly Blanket by Leslie Friend, heading into the home stretch now. My library has The Sorceress Comes to Call, so I'm in the queue for it at #12. Sounds like an interesting read for the fall season. I'm in coastal South Carolina and anxious for fall to get underway after a brutally hot summer. At least we're out of the 90s now. The high 80s will be around a few more days, but next week should be cooler. As always thanks for all of your interesting programming, Stephanie.
I am so happy that I found you this late spring. Your personality is so uplifting. I love everything you share. I’m looking forward to go back to your first videos and binge them. I think your knitware and clothing are expertly completed. I love your flowers, your book shares and baking ideas. I love molasses cookies! You just reminded me. Right now I’m going through a little medical dilemma so I’m not able to do much but sit, walk, or lay. Briefly, seven years ago I had a hip replacement that displaced twice . The first time 8 weeks after and then again one week after that. I’m not sure if you are aware, but the intense pain from that occurrence is the worst pain ever. Of course I was unable to move, my hip was completely out which caused ambulance trips to be sedated so the hip can be placed in the. Socket. Then some recovery time from the trauma of the incident. Well, last Saturday as I was home alone my hip decided to come out again as I was in the shower. Of course I panicked. I did not have my phone and no way to call for help. My husband was an hour away at my daughters and wouldn’t be home for 12 hours. I had to get out of the tub, and crawl, wet and naked to get to the bedroom where my phone was. I could only drag myself inches at a time so it took a long time. However, I couldn’t get the phone as it was on top of the bed. I was terrified, in intense pain, and cold. I finally thought what if I try to call my daughter using my Alexa….i tried and it worked! Such relief. Although she was an hour away she was able to call my friends who within 15 minutes were at my rescue. They called an ambalance and stayed with me as my daughter made her way to the hospital to meet me. It took the EMTs almost an hour to be able to get me into the ambulance as I had really messed my leg more by dragging myself through my home and the pain was incredible. But they were wonderful. Several hours later, I was back from the hospital and asleep in my bed. However, it could come out again. So I am not to bend, twist, or lean. My surgeon will meet with me tomorrow to discuss a plan so it doesn’t happen again. I don’t think I could stand another time. Why am I telling you this? Hopefully, no one will go anywhere without a cell phone, and if you have an Alexa, know that you can call out. Had I known I would have had one in each room….which I soon will. I’m sorry this was so long, I never meant it to be. Enjoy the rest of September. Looking forward to October! ❤❤
Hi Stephanie, I do decorate for some seasons, ie Fall and Christmas. Like you, I'm a scaredy cat so I don't like scary things and I don't decorate for Halloween. Love seeing your projects, and how you used the Farmers Daughter Fibers sub kits to make socks. They look fabulous as do all of your projects. You always inspire :)
❤❤really enjoyed ur episode,,,🎉🎉 Love socks,,kso lots of socks are fun!!!! I am doing the sept cuff right now,,,its so fun,,,snd getting practice with colorwork, lltoo,,, Love yours!!!! Also joining Denise for the falling leaves kal😊 Thanks Stephanie,,,,, Elaine 💗🏠 Love ,love the granny square cardigan,,,,,,
I'm anticipating Autumn, here in Nova, as we too are experiencing summer weather. I am mindfully finishing up a sweater/coat. Maybe I'll wear orange underneath as my contribution to fall decorating. I liked that I recognized the Canadian designers you mentioned. ie Heathers Closet and Tanis Lavallee. Great show! Thanks for sharing. s
Thank you Christy! Every designer has their own methods of selecting testers. I don't have any tips, sorry! If you're wondering how to apply for test knits, designers also have different ways of doing that - some put out their test call on IG, their email newsletters, or ... I think that's all I know of lol. And then how they run their tests may be different!
If a pattern has instructions for tapered sleeves, I often just follow what it says. If I think the decreases will taper too quickly for my preferences, I’ll knit with not decreases until my elbow and then start decrease rounds. It’s really trial and error and experience to figure out what works for you based on your fit preferences!!
Could you please link to the needle brand, needle model, and cord length you are using for the WIP socks? They look perfect for socks or sleeve cuffs and I am looking for short-tip options like that. Thank you.
I enjoy Chiaogoo Red 9 inch circulars for socks! Many local yarn shops will carry them. I’ve also purchased them from a US-based Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/listing/475056768/9-23-cm-chiaogoo-regular-red-circular.
I don’t know how high up the fixed 9” circulars go in size if you’re looking for a specific size for sweater cuffs. I use the blue Chiaogoo interchangeable shorties for sweater sleeves: www.etsy.com/listing/700044136/chiaogoo-twist-shorties-set-us-4-thru-us. They’re US4-8 and I get an extra set of cables (5”, 6”, and 8”) to knit the sleeves two at a time on their own needles with one long needle (3”) and one short needle (2”) (both come in the set) - makes short circulars 9” through 14". This way I can knit the entire sleeve on short circulars comfortably!
What a cute top with the lace panel down the back! Interesting that it's €6.99 EUR ($8.12 USD) on Ravelry and a paid-for pattern on the designer's website while still being a free download on Hobbii Design's website - I'm not very familiar with either so I don't know if there's a reason for this. I probably won't get to knitting this pattern but thanks for the suggestion!

Well Hello!!! ❤
Love that sweater on you!!! What’s the key to getting chosen for a test knit? I would like to do one 😁
Thank you Christy! Every designer has their own methods of selecting testers. I don't have any tips, sorry!
